At first when you think of the DE models I was like what, nut when I looked at them side by side on the gw site before you uploaded the pics I realized sick.

I am stoked to see the top of the shrine all done.

Since everything is floating i am hoping for a sick scenic base who knows what sort of base im sure you will surprise us in a good way

I really love your cultists, tentacle daemon, other DE stuff you're using and the dark colour scheme... IMO it portrays Slaanesh better than those pink and pastel schemes you see so often! Really looking forward to this and keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone, I've been slowly working on the shrine and other characters, but since I have a couple things I'm painting up for other people, that's taking up quite a bit of my time. But hey, it helps fund for the rest of the army!

I'll likely be picking up 30 more flagellants on Saturday, so expect to see a full unit of those cultists all lined up and hopefully some painted stuff soon too!

Sorry for another late reply, I have been rather busy. But since I am painting up all my stuff for a game I have in November, I should be dishing stuff out much quicker.

At any rate, I finally started on Vashnir. Its obviously still a major WIP and the NMM still has quite a few more steps. But let me know what you think of it thus far!

Its just an Elf Lord (Highborn?) with Great Weapon from the Warhammer Fantasy Woof Elf range. It has always been one of my favorite models, and since they look of it fit so perfect with the theme of the army, I really didn't have a choice but to use it!

I'd like to hope so! The only real change I made was trimming off the vines all over the cloak as they were not what I had in mind (and seemed to Wood Elf-y anyways).

If everything goes as planned, I should have both Aesthera, Vashnir, and even the Warshrine done on Saturday, and possible more. I'd like to get started on the Chosen but we shall see how that goes.

As it stands I only need one more box of Incubi, 3 boxes of Flagellants, and the second warshrine and the army is done. I might also be buying the FW Keeper of Secrets rather soon, as well as repainting my FW Giant Spawn for the use of a Giant. Of course I still need to get 25mm bases and cloaked Glade Guard heads. So if anyone has either of those lying around and would like to trade or sell them, let me know!

Well its been a long time since my last update, so I apologize for that. However, I finally got all the 25mm bases I needed (which was the main reason for the delay) so I'm ready to roll now. This week should have plenty of updates since I need to get my stuff painted to a decent standard. It might not be completely finished since I'm not sure I'll have the time to do all the nmm but we shall see.

I also just acquired a FW Keeper of Secrets so I am extremely excited about that!

As for now though, here's a picture of the now 21 Chosen!

Well yet again I managed to wait far long than I said to post an update. As of current however, I finally have all the units I require for the army (although I am likely to go back and get some extra ones).

For now though I am working on my second Warshrine and it took me a while to come up with another idea for the actual alter part, but I think I am quite happy with it and how it should turn out!

The pictures aren't too clear, but when I saw a local Dark Elf player that had a cauldron with a bunch of half naked girls bathing in it the idea immediately set itself inside of my head. But I'm Chaos, and more specifically Slaanesh... so the bigger the better! With a but of luck I was able to finagle an item that would resemble some sort of well or cauldron but on a much larger scale. And with the addition of spikes from a friendly Dark Eldar player, I think it's coming along quite nicely!

So once its done, it should be a nice little pool of liquid containing a few ladies (I'm thinking white liquid... heh). Thoughts?

I absolutely love your floating warshrines, fantastic eldritch stuff - and way to make use of the lovely talos kit, figure somebody's gotta since those 40kers aren't (I had / have ghorgon schemes in mind if I ever go crazy and start that DE-to-BM army ) Speaking of using DE stuff, I'm totally with you on the incubi-as-uber-warriors deal, big fan of those models too. Way to stick with the failcast, I was sourcing all metal for my schemes .........

@Salvage: Yeah, I when I saw just how much the DE stuff fit in with how I wanted the overall feel of the army to be I really just couldn't pass it up. Sadly, I wish I could have obtained all metal incubi. Currently I have to admit that its one of the biggest reasons progress has been so slow with this army; I just cant get myself motivated to fix the consistent problems that are on nearly all of the resin mini's. Keep in mind I bought most if not all of them after they "straightened" things out.

I would also love to see whatever you have planned with that DE-to-BM army... I'm all for the conversions and theme (as you know!) and seeing crazy out of the box types things is just plain awesome.

Thanks Boss, I'm really hoping I can start posting some updates again, but I'm still waiting on a few more pieces to arrive so I can finish some of the conversions. And I also just stripped down my Chaos Warriors as they turned out very inconsistent.

I'll likely be trying out the new purple spray from Army Painter (I absolutely love their spray, so I figured I'd give it a shot since a friend said it was almost the exact same color as my own purple).

Assuming I like that color I should be spraying down the entire army and getting it painted very very soon!

Thanks ceorron! I guess I just like having themed/unique armies, its probably the biggest thing that keeps me in the hobby.

Hopefully I can start updating soon, I ordered 20 of these heads from MaxMini, so I'm just waiting for those to get in before I start repainting the warriors.


After that, I should start pushing out updates a lot more often (that's the plan anyways).

I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but I actually picked up some Seekers to use as hounds for the army, so those might get painted fairly soon.
I'll also be starting up another thread at some point for my Chaos in general, as I now have all four of my separate WoC army factions (5 including the troll army).
That also means this army has gotten a bit bigger, including spawns, 30 more warriors, and 20 knights.

On the other hand, I was hoping to get some ideas for a unit filler for the Warrior unit. I've got a few ideas, but I'm curious to see what other people might have in thought?

A friend showed them to me, and they just seemed to fit so well for Slaanesh!

I love your warshrine but I agree the thing pulling it still seems a little to high-tech for my tastes. Maybe if you filled in all the vents and stuff and made it more akin to a shell?

Thanks, I actually already did fill those vents, etc as I felt that they were in fact still a bit too 40k-ish. I guess I didn't realize that the pictures were so old (I haven't put up a decent update in quite some time!).
I also took off a lot of the tubes and such things from the flesh, and greenstuffed that, so the only real "mechanical" part I suppose would be the metal lining on the tentacles which is completely fine by me.
Considering some of the Chaos Dwarf stuff (even the Dreadfleet ship as Warmonger pointed out) along with empire machines, I'm sure it wouldn't be a stretch at all.
Hopefully when I get painted pictures up it will look much less high-tech.

Well I have some pictures for you of a unit I worked on earlier today, although it doesn't really pertain to this army. I guess I just felt that its been too long since I posted any content, even as trivial as this one might be!

Since I am finally starting up my Nurgle and Tzeentch armies (at the same time, without my Slaanesh being done... such a terrible idea) I needed some Marauders with great weapons!

A very simple yet effective conversion. After the flails were on I just cut off the ends, and did the same with the one handed axes and glued the two ends together! Resulting in an ax with a longer handle, and thus, a great weapon!

Again, I apologize for the rather,,, bleh... update, but at least its something. I'm still working on fluff for my Tzeentch army, but after I got the basis of that finished I will be starting up a blog for that!
I did however come up with the name for that army as well as the Sorcerer who will be leading the army!

Uhhh heh... I just hit about 29,000 of my overall WoC army.
I still have much to get however, so sadly, I can't even say I'm nearing being finished getting the models I need.
