I laid down the primary colors on my fallen tower. Hopefully by tonight I will have finished adding the remaining colors so I can wash, weather and highlight it tomorrow.

Awesome stuff! That looted wagon further up is just great. I never see ork players using tau gear on their looted wagons, its always the same IG or SM stuff. Really unique...i didnt see it finished so im hoping you post something on it soon! And of course the painting on the orks is fantastic(k)!!

The fact that you cataloged and listed your projects makes you a better man than I am. Once I had the idea to get all of my unpainted minis out and line them up for painting...that was too much for me to ask myself, too scary.

Quick tip, if you're stuck using cheaper plaster than dental stone, you can add a little bit of watered down PVA glue to the plaster to at least make it slightly less crumbly, but it will take longer to set. Also, brushing on watered down PVA after the plaster dries will help strengthen it as well.

I honestly dread painting troops. The problem is I love building them! It just alot of repetitive details to paint. Terrain is a different story because each piece is unique. So building projects keep floating to the top of the list while my armies sit neglected

Thanks for the tip! I really enjoy your work BTW. I use a wall patching product called "fix-all". It is really cheap, dries pretty fast, and will hold up to some serious abuse. The only issue I have is minor chipping if dropped on concrete. Haven't had a problem with it crumbling at all. I have had some success eliminating bubbles by soaking the molds in water mixed with a couple drops of flow aid, a tip I got from the hirst-arts website.

Ok so I finished off my fallen tower scenery. Well I still have to spray it with a matte seal (bad weather right now) and then add a couple glossy highlights. Comments and Ideas are always welcome thank you for looking!

Tell me what you think!

thanks RS! I have made some progress on it! I am completely scratch building it with the intention of making it a kit. I finished detailing a servo arm last night, almost done with a super dakka arm. in the next couple days I hope to mold 2 torsos, 4 arms, and one back pack. once I cast these I will do more work on the legs. Maybe when I get home tonight I will blue tac one together and snap some pics.

You rock! Can't wait to see the fisher price stuff. Its this kind of creativity that really makes the hobby for me. Right there with you about painting troops - I'd farm it out if I could afford that. Much more fun creating them.

Here is the cyber goblins I have been working on, still a long ways to go as far as details.

one of two generic torsos taking shape

arms and backpack bits

A couple shots of the dakka arm tacked to a torso with a temporary head and pointy arm

A couple shots of the mech kit tacked to a different torso with a temporary head

Again the heads are only temporary. I plan to sculpt cyber type heads. The mech kit will have guitar wire type mechandrites and maybe a tool bag full of wrenches. The dakka arm will have a sculpted bicept and shoulder. After I cast the top half I will work on a couple leg sets.

Those are brilliant! Freaking awesome!

Forgive me if you mentioned it before, but are you making these for an IG based Grot army?

No they are just for my standard ork army at this point. Its more of an exercise to prove to myself that I can make a pose-able miniature kit from scratch.

I got inspired and quickly turned out another servo arm. It only took about 15 minutes and I snapped some pics and made a tutorial. Hope it helps inspire you.
