Salamanders use to have a dreadnought that lived since the horus hersey but he was killed in the 41st millenia.

Garro may of been put into stasis for all we know.

Very few to no loyalists live to this day because they have either been killed because of the wars or they were lost in stasis pods.

I don't know when the model was originally made, but it was definitely being sold long after Russ had been officially named as a Primarch - along with Freki and Geri, who are both part of Russ's original Primarch background.

Luther *might* be loyal (i.e. realized what an idiot he'd been after Caliban blew up) - but at minimum he's extremely confused. And imprisoned by the Dark Angels (for good reason, I might add).

Wasn't there a rumor that Jagati Khan had been captured by the Dark Eldar and was still alive?

I'm pretty sure Garro would have played a part in something Important, maybe even laid the groundwork for the inquiisition?

If Astartes are, as has been implied, functionally immortal, it remains possible that a few from the heresy-era have lived on - Garro and Voyen (the apothecary who renounced war in favour of curing Nurgle's rot) might be plausible candidates. If the same biological immortality applies to the Custodes, it's always possible the Constantine Valdor has been leaning on his force spear in front of the golden throne for ten thousand years.

Yes, but hes a Primarch and doesn't really count for this discussion as the same goes for all the primarchs who are currently alive.

If he had anyone with him when he was captured they might have been captured as well?

Mind you the Dark Eldar would probably have bumped them off by now, as gladiators.

To the best of my knowledge, that's fan speculation, not acknowledged in-universe rumour. The White Scars' index astartes article just says he disappeared into the webway chasing the Dark Eldar. His fate is otherwise unknown - the webway is huge, and there are far worse things to be found there than S&M space elves.

And, as Grey Templar says, the missing primarchs, given that their status is entirely unknown, don't really count in answering this question.

Thanks all...

Out of curiosity, are any of the Space Wolf 13th company included in Prospero Burns the Novel?

Or any other?

Thank you!

Not really. Starcraft has some thematic similarities with the races, but you'd never be able to pass a Terran Space Marine off as an Imperial Space Marine on the table top any more than you could with Mobile Infantry (from Starship Troopers - and not the movie version). The linked figures, on the other hand...

I did at one point see an issue of White Dwarf with what I thought were supposed to be new Tyranid models - one of which was a dead ringer for a Hydralisk. But that was after Starcraft had been released. So I'm not sure who was "inspired by" who in that instance - i.e. whether the tyranid model in question was older than I thought, or whether it had been released after Blizzard's sci-fi game (that ignores design time, of course). Aside from that, the figures are quite divergent. The races may share suspiciously similar thematic elements, but you'd never mistake a Protoss for an Eldar, for instance.

Im not saying they directly copied GW, please let me clarify...

IIRC, Blizzard, at the time, was going to make an RTS for Warhammer and Warhammer 40k (Warcraft and Starcraft respectively), but due to some disagreement or some other problem, GW cancelled the deal. Now since Blizz was in the process of making the game, they decided to continue anyways because of having a decent amount of ideas from GW. Thats why you do see some simliarites between games.

Also, I meant my comment as a half-joke, I didn't mean to imply that i thought Blizzard stole all their ideas from GW.

If anyone has some more info on the subject, please post.

There's a 10,000 year old Salamander sargent? I think that's his rank, on a downed and submerged cruiser on a planet called Scoria. More is described in Salamander by Nick Kyme, but he basically sat for 10,000 years guarding the suits of armor of his battle brothers, but was too atrophied and lacking sanity to carry on and so was administered the emperor's peace.

The minute I finished that book I thought they should have put him in a dreadnought. His torso/main organic functions still worked to a degree, he'd just need some psychotherapy to recoax his mind back to sharpness.

The problem with that Salamander would be that any attempt to move his body would likely kill him. They wouldn't have time to get him in a dreadnought.

I imagine his body was pretty wasted. Skin and bones and no minor organs left. His Arms and Legs might have completely dissapated.

His armor was fused, and his limbs were atrophied to the point uselessness, but worse cases have been put in dreadnoughts.

I think what was given thought somewhere near his discovery is the fact that he carried over 10,000 years of grief and anguish of his brothers and, unlike Bjorn, hasn't been in stasis for the majority of his internment.

The importance of him though wasn't the ship or even the fact that the armor has scripts from the tome of fire scribed over each suit's surfaces, but that his gene seed was still intact, but we'll have to wait until Nocturne comes out in november to find out where that takes us.

So I found 1!!!

and it ain't no dreadnought!
Captain Halbrecht of the Imperial Fists(Black Templars now) was on the Phalanx when it intercepted the Eisenstien and then he was given the duty of guarding Garro and company until they were taken into the custody of the SS

so given that he is still alive... what stops Garro from being around somewhere?

thanks all

I highly doubt that the same Helbrecht aboard the Phalanx is the High Marshall in M41 given long established fluff that Dante is the oldest living loyalist marine not in a dreadnought.

Regarding primarch models, Forgeworld did say they were interested in doing a Heresy era book, considering they have all of those Heresy era armour and weapon variants, and now the Contemptor.

Which could allow them to do primarch models.
