+1 to the 'please don't make Necrons too Meq-ish' comment - we need a seriously alien army that looks and fights like no other race. 'TK in Space' wouldn't be completely terrible as a look, but I'd like to see a little more originality...

Originality? What's that?
As usual, these rumors do sound nice, and they also seem a bit (just a bit) more reasonable than previous ones. No offense, but should we really believe a Polish website? Unless these guys hit the spot all the time, I don't know if I can totally listen to them.
Again, no offense to any Polish users on this site.

Indeed. Methinks this is just a recut sprue jobby (possibly with Lord bits too) rather than a complete redesign of the model. I may be wrong though.

Destroyer Lord, both Destroyers and Immortals used all share the same upper body at the moment.
Since they are said to be re-doing Immortals -> I belive we will see new "upper part" of the Destroyers to match that. Think the lower body aka. hoover platform will remain the same.

I'm afraid that they might scrap Destroyer Lord :( Like it would be getting replaced by that Command Barge / Charriot whatever - the Lord's personal vehicle.

Huh? Immortals and Destroyers don't share the same torso. Destroyer bodies are bigger than Immortal ones. Although you can make adequate Immortals out of Destroyer torsos put the conversion next to the original and the difference is somewhat noticeable. If anything I'd say the redone Immortals will look more like the current Destroyers.

Actually, in the codex it explicitly states that destroyers are immortals mounted on hover platforms, and with a.bigger gun.

I'm aware of that. However the models are not currently based off the same torso (go on, compare them). It would make sense to only have to redesign the Immortals to be a little "beefier" to make them look like their Hover platform mounted cousins, rather than redesign both kits.

Please tell me I am not the only one who sees a problem with the necron range being redone and warriors NOT being listed in the first wave? They seem to be in the second wave, and by second wave I sure hope they mean seconds after the release...

Yeah, it does seem pretty stupid. But then again most necron players already have a solid core of Warriors.

And if they want the necrons to sell they'll probably show the best, flashiest looking elites and HQ first.

Where has anyone said this is the first wave? It is a list of new units and/or new models. Warriors will more than likely get a recut sprue with some new upgrades and reduced in size to 10 to a box.

And at the same price, without scarab swarms included. GW is making it hard for anyone to get into this hobby by incessantly raising prices.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Just a thought here rumor has it that the Heavy Destroyers are being folded into the basic Destroyer squad plus another gun option for the destroyers so a new kit will probably still be just like the existing Destroyers only with more options, accessories, and all plastic.

I for one wouldn't mind being able to buy a few extra scarab swarms without going to ebay. The ones on the GW site are the old metal ugly ones. Or at least put four or so swarms of them in with the tomb spyders. They are a useful unit with a low cost for an army with a footslogging infantry. However, I do fear that if they did that, they would cost way more than they are worth. Swarms are not worth 5 bucks each. The warriors coming with 3 swarms is pretty awesome as it is. I can't see them continuing making warriors 12 to a box, though, as that is a very odd (Though useful for new players) number. I really hope that the warriors are left untouched, aside from maybe cleaning up (beefing up?) the gauss rule a knotch. Ushabti melee specialists would be wicked, though. Flayed ones leave a lot to be desired against MEQ.

Oh, my bad, the old metal scarab swarms are two "swarms" at 2 scarabs on 2 bases for $12.25 US. Who would buy that?

My biggest fear is that GW will use the computer models to add uber detail to warriors like we saw on the GK armor, making my 65+ warriors outdated. I'm hoping to get by with just buying new units and updating units like Immortals over time.

Munga the prices for bitz of plastic scarabs really are reasonable on EBay I just recommend combining shipping and buy a bunch from one seller. I did this and upped my scarab count to 21 last year.

I highly doubt that the Warrior models will change, though a recut sprue seems likely and different rod colors is a distinct possibility.

(...) Some time ago I mentioned that new Necrons will appear in October's White Dwarf - I just got a confirmation of that info from a reliable source! (...)

In the upcoming WD you will see some new units:

- Triarch Pretorians/Lychguard - think Ushabti with Grey Knight-like spears / glavies
- new Immortals
- new Destroyers
- Deathmarks - Necron snipers
- new HQ'a / characters - Overlord and Cryptec, those will be in finecast
- Command Barge - with a Lord on the throne

1.) A reliable source confirmed Necrons in the October White Dwarf? Erm ... no. Anyway.
2.) New immortals and destroyers have been rumoured a long time. Bigger immortals and a destroyer combi kit.
3.) Immortal snipers also appear in the french rumour from the other thread, so might be true.
4.) The new HQs have been rumoured since the new Necron background appeared in the Apocalypse thread.
5.) The barge sounds like the old Jes Goodwin concept sketch and the model made after it, fits the PhantomMenace/OldDarkEldarRaider hybrid rumour in the other thread, so sounds likely:

NecronLord3 I was not saying eBay is a bad place, it's the best for bits. That's the sad part there. You can't buy them individually from GW or your FLGS. I hate having to go bit scavenging, but it's a must these days. Also, I don't care if they make them even more detailed, my metal warriors will walk forever forward (behind a monolith) spraying gauss death. The newer models can be exactly that, newer models. Maybe they adapted their bodies to fight the new enemies. The fight against the old ones was quite a long time ago, you know? Also, the warrior models are still just perfect in my book

just checked the US GW site and oddly, and a little exciting, the necron warriors are no longer available, so figure what you want but when you take the most important unit for an army out of being able to be bought there has to be something happening very soon.....i hope.

This part is not new...the warriors have been unavailable for at least a week...

The most reasonable speculation I have seen so far on the warriors is that they are getting new cover art and that's it. This is exactly what they did for the Ogre Bulls and Ironguts (also the Battalion IIRC). The models themselves are fine as it is, and there is precedence for new pictures with old sprues.

I believe the polish site was referring to the WD released in October. Since magazines are released with the expiration date printed on the cover this would be the November issue released in October.

Yeah this has been annoying me all along the current metal Immortals have considerably smaller upper torsos to the Destroyers so I just assumed that what was actually the case was the the new Immortals will be scaled so their upper bodies are the same size as existing Destroyers and that any "New" Destroyers would be recut sprues that use all the existing stuff but add a plastic version of the existing Heavy Destroyer metal compnents (though I'll lay bets that the Heavy Gauss Cannon might look the same it will be a Ray weapon instead) and some new guns.

I don't think Destroyer Lord components will be in the new box indeed if the option still exists having the new finecast lord so that his upper and lower bodies are seperate pieces so that the torso could be slotted into the Destroyer body is IMO the way they will go.

Well Yakface mentioned the sniper unit way back when and bok supported that and the command barge actually sound more like the personel transport for the Overlord that was unit reviewed over at BoK and the model you point out is more likely the Alpha transport model.

Time will most certainly tell you that Necrons are getting a new book, I'd be willing to bet on it.

More to the point, I'm hoping that Necrons get a transport similar to the Barge concept, so that they can essentially bring squads from reserve onto the field from more than just the monolith.
