It is pretty good with a Libby, as long as he has a bike or is a Termy, because otherwise it wouyld be useless( it is Heavy). In this situiation I would recommend Terminator Armour for the Stoprm Shield he can get, but a bike works too for T5.

If you do take it, keep the lbby the maximum 2" away from the squad, to minimise damage caused by any misfires.

I normally run a Terminator Libby with Gate and Vortex and keep him on his own. The Gate normally prevents you from using it, because it is Heavy, but TDA makes him relentless, so he has a str 10, AP 1, Blast with basically a range of 36", with only a 1/6 chance of killing himself. The TDA helps with this, giving him a 1/3 chance of saving himself, a 5++.

So have a Libby, but not with the Vulkan/Hammernator deathstar?

No, you can, I was jsut giving a little extra on how to use Vortex. Gate doesn't work so well with a squad, especially a really powerful one such as Hammernators.

<shakes head> I don't know about librarian. If you mean just an extra HQ, then I'd agree. If you mean another character to attach to the terminators and vulcan, I'd suggest the chaplain. While the chaplain himself isn't stellar, he buffs the terminators and vulcan. He also provides fearless...so no more getting irritated by pinning or tank shock right before you charge into combat.

Yeah, those buffs would be useful.
