In my game room playing Specialist GW games

I'd love to see Epic Space Marine/Titan Legions produced again. But the problem isn't production, it's finding people who want to buy it. Everyone I used to play it with have since moved on from gaming at all or to 40k.

I've still got all of the models and rule books for the game, just no one is interested in playing it.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

I vastly preferred Space Marine, Titan Legions, and that version of the game to Epic40kArmageddon. I'd love to see a slightly cleaned up or faq'ed version of that system. I'd recollect all the armies I gave away. The card system for army system was especially brillant.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

The company that released Space Marine, and the one that produced EPIC 40K had completely different mindset companies.

The original concept was spot on, then gave you the option of adding more to the game then you could honestly shake a stick at.

The rerelease was a complete and utter failure.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

epic 40k and armageddon were without doubt terrible.

if they brought back Epic, Space marine and Titan legions tho? that would indeed rock.

I would love to see it - it was the first GW game I really played (aside from BloodBowl and HeroQuest etc), in fact, my friends and I really only played Epic and not 40K at that time.

However, GW won't remake it, the miniature line is too extensive for them to maintain even as a re-released specialist game given the disdain they hold for non-core games. Hell, even BloodBowl gets the brown end of the stick and in theory that should be a fairly easy product to support given its really just a box and a few supplemental boxes of teams to produce/stock, so I fear an Epic re-release would be given short shrift when one considers how many miniatures and races to implement.

I also suspect that despite what the internet thinks, Epic probably wouldn't sell in the same volumes that people think it would. Lots of people say they would buy/play it; whether they would in reality is another matter. Some figures have been quoted from former GW employees stating that Epic sales were only around 1-2% total revenue even at its peak popularity.

Edit - I should clarify, when I say Epic, I am referring to 2nd Ed Epic / Titan Legions rulesets.

Epic:Armageddon may not have the flavor and variety of earlier releases, but I actually like it that way. It's a brilliant little wargame with tight, streamlined rules. That said, a re-release of any edition, with any necessary FAQs and expansions written in from the start, plus of course new plastic models, would definitely be welcome!

epic is my favorite GW product. that being said the epic community has all but deleted the GW presence from the game and taken the reigns for themselves, which i think is very respectable.
