For what it's worth, I think the teen choice awards pole dancing fiasco utterly eclipses her pot smoking on the grand scale of things that people should give a feth about. (of course both events are at the bottom of said scale)

You posting on this thread is participating in the whole celebrity culture, pretty much everyone who has access to this stuff is involved in some way. You could see a thread about Miley Cyrus and just ignore it, but you haven't so by your reckoning you now have no life. Celebrities are only famous because people want to know about them, its natural.

As she accepted the cake, Miley joked, "You know you’re a stoner when friends make you a Bob Marley cake — you know you smoke way too much f***in’ weed.” Fellow guest Kelly Osbourne laughed, "I thought salvia was your problem!" in reference to Miley's notorious bong video.
Other guests at the party included Victoria Justice, Rumer Willis, and Miley's boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, as well as a gang of furries and dwarves, according to The Daily. We probably shouldn't be surprised, given that Miley's hard-partying ways have been the subject of tabloid speculation for a long time — still, we're guessing that her team are none too pleased about this most recent scandal.

I wouldn't be that quick to judge some artists probably wouldn't have been famous if they didn't do drugs like Jimi Hendrix for example.

@Chromedog: I don't know. Booze seems like the logical way. He is, after all, a Country Singer. Pot seems more like a Neo-Hipster Screamo drug.

I'm appalled at how many people think smoking weed is cool. It's not. Smoking casually to loosen you up in the evenings after a hard day of work is one thing. Spending all of your free time smoking joints with low-lifes and other scum is another.

Also, under the circumstances of her 'reputation' as a teen idol, I'm sure she'll spur up a whole new wave of stoners, unfortunately.
