GFGames wrote:Thanks for your suggestions, Eric! We are definitely considering alternative ways of packaging these counters-- but keep in mind that they are not only designed for use as casualty markers, but also to mark other effects, such as "armor drain" abilities. The larger numbers can also come in handy for those of us who like using big units on the battlefield.
That's a good point, but I definitely think you can do as good a job while still making them more versatile.
For example... and I'm not going to "hide" my thoughts for those who rant about IP... Say you're using your Necrons against a Land Raider. That is the only "regular" vehicle that can absorb a -13 penalty to armor and still survive. You could just as easily track the penalties by using multiple markers (2 "6" markers would be 12, etc.). Besides... not many vehicles will even NEED to be marked. In our games, no vehicle has survived an onslaught from weapons that reduce armor. LOL
Even if you keep what you've got here, I hope you add sets similar to my suggestion. I can see how invaluable they'd be (in smaller runs) to mark downed models.
Thanks for your time.

Different colors are currently planned, though obviously these will be dependent on whether the counters will actually look good in the new colors! We're currently in the process of designing counters in different colors and will be prototyping these fairly soon, so expect more news to follow on that front.
Also, pictures are still forthcoming-- don't think we've forgotten these!

Wouldn't make more sense to place the marker with the current AV vaule next to the Land Raider, instead of how many AV taking off.

Note the quotes around "regular."
Also, your reply added nothing valuable to the discussion.

I don't know that any one method is better than any other. Seems all to be personal taste to me. My group and I all marked the # of points removed on those TWO occasions that the vehicle didn't just go "splat."

Sorry, I just thought you meant non-Apocalypse. EDIT2: And to be honest, now that I think about it... I have fought against more Monoliths than I have Land Raiders in my day. Weird. EDIT: And to say something more on topic... I am only vaguely considering Necrons (C'tan shards + immortals + annihilation barges), but if I made them I would probably want blue Space Undead Counters and not green.

Here's the first of several forthcoming "action shots" to show the scale of our counters-- in this picture, three troopers have just fired desperately at the oncoming Space Undead, but it just keeps coming...
Miniatures used here are two Pig Iron Productions Heavy Infantry, a converted medic using a Pig Iron Productions Kolony Militia body with a Heavy Infantry backpack and head, and a Copplestone Castings Terminator Robot-- the battle here takes place on an Amera Plastic Mouldings Bombed-Out Building.

Only downside was that I got 4 shields up and 6 shields down markers instead of 5 and 5 :/

Hello again, DakkaDakka! We at Genius Factory Games have just finished an upgrade to our webstore (which, as always, can be found at http://www.geniusfactorygames.com/webstore/). Further, we've just put the finishing touches on the new fluorescent blue versions of our recent "Space Undead" counters. These icy blue counters are now available-- just select the counters that you are interested in on the web store, then click the "Fluorescent Blue" option on the right side of the menu.
For those of us who are interested in a little eye candy, here are some pictures and descriptions of the new blue counters:
Numbered Counters-- This set contains thirteen numbered counters and can be used to represent both fallen models waiting to return to the field and points of armor drained from the enemy by your forces.
Specialist Counters-- This set contains eleven counters with images that are designed to represent the effects of specialist units and characters.
Character Counters-- This set contains eight counters, including both wound markers for characters and counters to represent fallen characters of different types waiting to return to the battlefield.
Large and Small Shield Counter Sets-- These counters, available both in a large set of ten and a smaller set of four, are intended to keep track of deflector shields on your vehicles-- each set is split into two, with half the tokens representing "shields up" and half representing "shields down." To select a size of set to order, just use the menu on the right-hand side-- the price will adjust accordingly.

Really like how the blue ones turned out. Definately think you should keep expanding this line into other armies. Not all of them would really make great use of tokens, but Nids, BA, DE all pop into my head as nice places to start.

Hello again, Dakka! We at Genius Factory Games would like to announce our latest release-- Cyber-Beetle Swarm counters! These 40mm counters are ideal for representing newly spawned hordes of killer cybernetic insects, and are available in increments of 5, 10, or 30. Below are some pictures of the new Cyber-Beetle Swarms:
As you can see, these counters-- as with our line of Space Undead counters-- are available in both fluorescent green and fluorescent blue plastic, and are available now from our webstore-- simply click on either image above to be taken to the product page. We've also restocked several items on our webstore that we were running low on recently, so come on over and have a look at the rest of our wares while you're at it.
As always, feel free to comment here or email us at support@geniusfactorygames.com if you have any questions or concerns about our products!

I don't play Necrons, but I think these Swarm counters are brilliant. Swarms are low enough that LOS is not really an issue, price means that it is easier for scarab farm players, and they look good to boot. Selling them in various size lots is also quite convenient.
On that thought, would it be possible to do a small round base with a slot for a Termagant "Space Raptor" sized marker? Doing that in say 4-5 colors would likely be of interest for Nid players, especially with competitive pricing.

Hello, DakkaDakka!
Genius Factory Games is proud to announce that we have just released a new set of "Sadism Counters" designed to allow people to keep track of the units killed by their forces on the battlefield. Each set comes with three counters representing one kill, two counters representing two kills, and one counter representing three kills. The counters feature an intricate pattern of vines that grows more and more dense and thorny as units rack up the kills, as pictured below:
As with our previous releases, the Sadism Counters are available in both green and blue fluorescent plastic. We've also added a new color-- both the Sadism Counters and all products from our previous line of "Space Undead" counters are now available in fluorescent yellow. Check them out at our webstore!
We at Genius Factory Games are always happy to hear from the community, so if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to post them here or to email them to us at support@geniusfactorygames.com. Happy gaming, everyone!

Here's a rough (read: iPhone) image with a sneak preview of what we're currently working on-- "Space Federation Target Marker" counters!
As you can see, we have two different designs that we're looking at-- one with text and one without. If you have strong feelings on which one to use, be sure to make your voice heard! We've posted a poll over in 40k Discussions, but feel free to provide comments or criticism here as well.
