Just talk to the manager. Any tactic to combat the stereotypical D&D player will also work just as well on the 40k one.

Would this happen to be D&D Encounters? I am afraid you will not win this. The Encounters program from WotC enforces that D&D games must be played only on Wednesdays and if they are running other games WotC could pull support for D&D as well as Magic (which as much as you might not like it is the reason most game stores are open!).

Just try to get along, nothing is more pathetic than two nerds in a bitching war.
