Who would vote in Elliot Carver as president? My suspension of disbelief is now ruined for this GI Joe movie.

I will watch this. I'm curious to see how they explain Storm Shadow in this one.

I'm not normally one to engage in moral panic or whatever, but the first one really freaked me out.

The way it dealt with death was more childish than I'm used to even in kids movies. IMHO, the violence in GI Joe 1 is flippant and inhuman. I was frequently shocked by how little attention was paid to the horrible things the "good guys" were doing.

Like, there is a scene where the good guys kill a bunch of innocent bystanders by blowing up their cars to get to the bad guy and when they find him near death they basically zombify his brain and steal his thoughts. There are frequently "woo"s shouted after tons of people die.

Ladies and gentlemen, your heroes.

And don't get me started on the ice base. A major plot point screws up a piece of science so basic that even the TARGET AUDIENCE should understand it. Ice doesn't sink, guys. It just doesn't.

I'd probably go see a movie that was just about Snake Eyes fighting Storm Shadow. I find the rest of it just gets in the way.

True story.

As for the movie, I'll agree that the first was pretty terri-bad, but I still enjoyed the craziness of it. Looks like this one won't disappoint haha

I think the using mostly new guys could work well, as you don't need to focus filmtime on too many characters from the previous one. Especially if a third film allows all the joes from one and two to unite.

Although I have to admit, I'm pretty much at.. move onto Serpentor already regarding the franchise. Also, the films need more Dreadnoks.

It looks like there's a mountain base in this one. I hope when they blow it up at the end chunks of the mountain break off and start floating off into the sky.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
