many people argue this as well. I think, because very little about the relationship has come out, this may be a result of "Hollywood relationships are tumultuous." or "Chris Brown was such a good boy."
Which, admittedly, Hollywood relationships are tumultuous, and Chris Brown had a pretty clean image prior to the incident. And people do like to read into celebrity drama, which is basically why it exists in the first place.

She almost certainly did play a part in the incident, at least one beyond being hit. That doesn't make her culpable, but there are things one can say to another person that are tacit to a slap in the face (Which, in this case, doesn't justify retaliation. Women can generally hit men indiscriminately according to social norms.), and we are talking about a guy that had been pretty image conscious up until this point.
