Thanks. I'm really getting a kick from these down-to-the-wire games. They're much more enjoyable than some of the blowout ones. Reminds me of my daemonhunter days in which every game was a struggle usually.
Though that's not to say I don't like to dominate once in a while.

Haha! I actually voted "draw" before reading anything in the thread. That was awesome, those ever living models can really throw a wrench in someones game.
My good Necron General friend runs a list similar to this one :
Obyron and Nemesor
2 units of 5 Cryptecs with staffs and one solar pulse one re roller.
A decked out overlord
Large unit of Lychguard
4 units of 5-7 Warriors? Each with double lance cryptecs.
6 Wraiths
8 Scarabs
This is 1850. But it works like a charm, and with phased re-enforcements you can really frak up someones day, especially if you use the veil on obyron and then the wraiths to pick a spot to hit really really hard when the enemy arrives.
Cheers!

Nice comeback man. Sometimes it's fun to fight for the draw when you're in a bad situation. I think if the BA player knew the necrons a bit better, he would've been able to prevent you from re-animating by his objective. Or even prevented you from re-animating at all with some clever placement.

I really like those 2 crypteks. Just when my opponent thinks he's wiped out my troops, then 1 or maybe even 2 crypteks get back up. Not only that, but they get back up with dangerous guns and forces my opponent to have to deal with them again as they are either claiming or contesting an objective or he still hasn't earned his KP yet for wiping out the squad. They just make those 5-man MSU squads that much more resilient. Absolutely awesome!
That's a solid list your friend has, though my main concern is their mobility. With the exception of Obyron's unit, they can get boxed in fairly easily like my army did in this game. I'm feeling that footcrons need some more mobility.
I've never really tried the phased reinforcements tactics before. Will have to look into that.

Yeah, it's definitely more gratifying when you have to come back from behind to get the win or the draw even.
He actually did try to prevent me from reanimating back onto his objective. The first combat between Mephy vs Overlord, he conslidated away from me in such a way that I couldn't come back to contest his objective. However, in the 2nd battle, Mephy only consolidated 1" and thus was not able to block my path.

Your battle report rocks and it was a nice effort to get the draw. There's something about rising from the ashes to steal victory away from your opponent... I'm liking those Tomb Blades too, those look sweet.

Thanks.
Coming back from the dead is definitely cool. Cool for me. Pretty sure it's quite annoying to my opponents. Just like St. Celestine is kind of annoying to me everytime I go up against her.
Maybe one of these days, I'll give Justicar Thawn another go.
I think I will incorporate the tomb blades into my next necron battle.
