Did you speedpaint them or did you go the long way?
Because if that is your speedpainting result, I'd like to request a tutorial for then.

@thesilverback: Thanks very much The Dark Angels certainly seem to be a crowd favorite.

@sluggaslugga: Cheers mate. They're just painted normally to match the colour scheme of the models the client had in his army already.

I absolutely love all these models. As a Dark Angels player, I have a weak spot for DA models and these are exceptional, however I feel that a good freehanded DA winged sword on every shoulder would just put them over the edge. Also, maybe a freehand decal on their chest piece? They are looking a little flat to me, but then again, I like to have lots of little touches on my models. Perhaps the client didn't want it, but it may be something to consider next time?

what are you using to finish your bases? I like the look of that texture you've got going there. much nicer than the sand I'm using now also, going back to the first few grey knights images you posted, were those shell casings on the bases something you added or did they come with the base?

@VardenV2: Thanks for the feedback. I'd love to add little details like that to all the models I do but as this is commission work I have to stick to exactly what the client wants.

@varl: It's nothing special, just sand taken from the beach 5 mins down the road. The shell casings are extras that I added myself from plastic rod.

I love the white w/ grey paint scheme. Nice job!

Here's a new update. I've just finished up a full set of Space Hulk Genstealers aswell as the Broodlord and here are some pictures of them:













The client has already OK'd them but C&C is always appreciated.

the dark angels look awesome!! all your work on this thread looks nice and sharp, but the DA s really stood out to me as a favorite.

ive always been curious about people painting the figure and the gun seperately. why did you do this? i didnt read every word in the thread so forgive me if you explained this allready

@neal1975: It tells you just under the Dark Angel pictures but the client is going to be adding the Bolters to the ones that don't have them when they get back to him. Though normally people paint the guns separately so it's easier to get your brush to the details on the chest.

Pictures seem to be working fine for me. Maybe it was a temporary problem or something on your end?

After a reload it worked out, guess it was just temporary?

I've just finished up 2 Red Scorpion Contemptor Dreadnoughts with magnetized weapons:





The client is going to be basing them himself which is why the bases aren't finished.

Well don't let that put you off. I've had clients from all over the world and always try to keep postage costs as low as possible.

TBH the weathering looks a bit weird, a bit false, but otherwise A+!

Lovely work, I know where I need to come if I get a bit low on 'painting effort'

@Norn King: What about the weathering don't you like? The client just wanted some paint chips to show they're not straight off the factory floor. Is that not what it comes across as?

I have to agree with Norn King here. the model seems too clean, so the paint chips blend into the color scheme instead of standing out like marks of wear-and-tear.

it's more of an issue for me on the legs in the first photo. the chips look like they're part of the normal leg detail (like rivets or something). maybe they just aren't showing up well in the photos?

The white helmet on the dreads strikes me as a litle too bright. The rest of the model is meant to be chipped and slightly battle worn, so the head just looks a spot too....well, clean I guess.

I've just got back from a Fantasy tournament where I managed to come home with the trophy for third place which I'm definitely happy with considering
I only started really learning the game this month.

Anyway, now that's done it's all back to business as usual and the next few projects that will be coming up are some Brettonian Grail Knights and
a Deathwatch Strike force with sculpted shoulder pad icons.

Just so their are some pictures in this post here are some of a Frost Ogres Ironblaster that I completed:

Each of these guys has also got a sculpted shoulder pad to show which chapter he's from.
