Yea I agree with this, losing that dread so easily really denied him the forward pressure that he was building.

What was he shooting at with the vindicator? I suppose it doesn't matter too much I never found those very affective against eldar. Wave serpents laugh at demo canons.

He shot at a serpent once, then went to shooting at my walkers. The magority of damage on my walkers came from the vindicator.

As for Orks, at Adepticon, you would be surprised at the number of Ork players that get to the top 20 tables, BW spam tends to work pretty well. Thanks for the battle reports and the post, it was very entertaining to read.

If you read my pre-tournament again, I dont consider walker spam a serious Eldar list. I agree with your points and I think a good player can counter walker spam very easily Its an All in One strategy. If you read my GT and higher level tournament reports I dont run walkers, and run more generic mech eldar lists. I ran walker spam for this tournament to give insight for a certain type of eldar list.
As far as my first 2 opponents they had good lists, are they top players in a GT? no. Are they middle to top 40-30%. yes.
Am I a cocky player? Sure. I dont like loosing and I like winning, and I win alot.

Pm hulksmash / spellbound / dashofpepper and ask if im a poor sport, I dont think I am but a 3rd party would probably be more realistic.

Woof. Hope you enjoyed that shooting gallery in Game 1. Not often you run into an army that is just tasty bits of meat for you to nom on for a few turns. He had like a 30% ish chance of winning if he played average. Giving you first turn might as well have been him conceding.

Good games all. Really enjoyable report. Beautifully painted army might I add. Loved the pictures.

Cute tourny reports like this usually make me want to try another army or build around a couple of tricks. This one also made me want to be a better player.

You do a great job of conveying your experience of the game and the opportunities and struggles you see. It's really satisfying reading reps like that, even when the aims are sort of simple. Good show!

You mentioned 3 other major eldar archetypes, any of them you have more faith in?

It's just a show, I should really just relax... It's just a show, I should really just relax... It's just a show, I should really just relax... It's just a show, I should really just relax...

I cringed a bit at the DE game. Did he use Lady Malys or Leilith cause you mentioned both at different points in the report? If it was Malys I'm surprised he didn't put at least his razorwing into reserve after you went full reserve on him. It's also strange that he spent the points for night shields, then put all of his stuff easily in range of all of your guns. If he'd hugged his table edge all you'd have been able to shoot with was the EML-walkers when you came on. Your walkers were in normal reserve not out-flanking right? He had more than enough vehicles to table edge block you, would've been a much different game if all your walkers auto-died on your second turn. Granted your reserve rolls could have gone much differently, but it would've at least been an attempt to do something (besides die). Basically it seemed like he didn't really have any kind of plan for how he would accomplish anything. I hope you gave him some pointers after the game (assuming he wasn't getting grumpy lol).

Great reports though, and you've got a very nice looking army. Thanks for posting them.

Foodar - Im not a footdar player, its not something I really understand. Ill eventually try it, but Foordar confuses me, especially with the current meta game.

Mechdar- My most comfortable build, 3x fire dragons and 8+ vehicles.

Seer Council Variations - Anything with a seer council.

I have the most faith in Mechdar > seer > footdar.

Glad you liked the reports.

Malys (the one where you can reposition d3+1 units).

Yea I compleatly agree with you. The Dark Eldar player had an off game. He didnt have a solid game plan. If He had hugged the table edge your right that would have been a problem for me. As far as blanketing my Table Edge, I never thought of that. DashofPepper did that to me once when I was playing mechdar in a tourney, and its something I forget about. If he had done that I would have lost the game for sure. He could have gotten out and lined his infantry as well, so I would of needed to tank shock. Im not sure if you can compleatly line the board with his tanks, but thats something I need to take into account when playing with walkers.

Thanks for that point I havent thought of that.

I'm pretty new and have been enjoying your batreps. I'm building a Mechdar army and haven't been able to expand beyond playing pretty exclusively against my friend's SM. I'm trying to remember some of the things that you do so that I can incorporate them into my tactics. I did have a question (that I can think of right now):

You say you "turbo boost" your WS and Falcons - I thought that only bikes could TB and otherwise you could move flat out (but then not fire). No one else has mentioned it so I'm sure I'm mistaken, but can you clarify?

Flat out and Turbo Boosting are the same thing.
Eldar jetbikes and skimmers can move up to 24", If you move more than 12" it counts as turbo boosting/Flat out ( they are the same thing). If you move more than 12 you cant fire , but you benefit from a 4+ cover save.

Does that answer your question?

Actually, not quite.

With flat-out, you only have to move more than 12" and you will get a 4+ cover.

With turbo-boosting, you have to move at least 18" and then you get a 3+ cover.

Another question (and I'm posting it here rather than the you make da call area because it might have been inspired by one of Smitty's other batreps):

You were running a jetbike council and mentioned that they got tarpitted at somepoint (I think they were assaulting units near a droppod). Are jetbikes not considered vehicles then? I thought that vehicles in assault could just move away in the next movement phase (pg. 63 BRB).

Good batrep, enjoyable to read and it's very clear what's happing. Thanks!

Dire Avengers get into a Transport and turbo boost over towards the top right quarter, and the objective there claiming both.

You can't do this btw You can't embark/disembark vehicles who have/will move flat out.
