Yes, it does look rather nice doesn't it?

lol, did the necrons have that in the previous edition fluff?

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

Nope. Completely new addition. Not even mentioned in the background, actually.

Yes, armor saves were clearly stolen from Chaos. They don't exist anywhere except in the Chaos Space Marines codex, so it must be stealing. Clearly...

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

^ except in this case the Necrons had that first. Being a lot older and such.

Totally not stolen from some xenos codex.
Only more weapons, cheaper (considering similar weapons), scout, DS, chute insertion, built in extra armour at the cost of shield.

Good things are good,.. so it's good

Dark Angels had it before that. It's called the Sword of Secrets.

-Gray Hunters(SW): Troops that can have flexible configurations, spam special weapons, and remember to bring their pistol and sword in addition to the bolter for better CC options? I've seen this before....

Space Wolves did this first, too. It's called True Grit.

-Saga of the Bear? (SW): Not sure this is the right name. Anyway, once upon a time you could make a chaos HQ an Eternal Warrior buying a Daemonic Rune. Apparently it was ruled as too strong an ability...if you lack enlarged canines.

And Salamanders could get it by wearing a Scaly cape. Also before the 3.5 Codex.

-Fenris Wolves (SW): You know, I'm sensing a theme here. While the puppies certainly didn't lift Long Fangs from Chaos, all the other near stuff they have has a very 3.5 feel! These used to be Chaos Hounds.

Again, Wolves did it first.

-Artificer armor (SM): Daemon Armor! How dare you turn on us like that!

Marines did that before Chaos even got a 3rd ed book.

Yes, course Dark Angels lost the ability to take it too without a SC so they got screwed too.

Salamanders had a variant where only double toughness did not kill you, all other forms of instant death applied, so it wasn't the same as eternal warrior preventing all forms of instant death. Which is different from Eternal warrior that it could be considered a first for Chaos due in part.

Again, Wolves did it first.

Chaos had them before 3.5 dex with their 3.0 dex, which came out before space puppies.

Feb 1999 vs April 2000

So no here.

Everyone did, everyone could take it in 2E!

I would like to add in the fact that Bloodtalons take from the 3E chaos codex as well, the Axe of Khorne

Marine tax?

What kinds of marines have two thumbs and have to pay for grenades? Black Templars!

Minirant aside, would rather have to pay for grenades than lose mantle and PotMS vindicators

I'm not sure but I believe you could find plenty of possessed marines that don't have two thumbs.

Dark Angels have been robbed of a number of things that made them unique. It almost feels like every other army is the test bed for future SM books.

They did have two thumbs before traitor-ism though.

Most of the Dark Angels' "chapter-specific" options were actually available to all Marines in the 2nd edition codex.

A top the tip of the endless spire

I have to say that a lot of the stuff that was considered too powerful in 3.5 CSM and was removed for the next edition has eventually made its way into other codices in some form or another. So does that mean those abilities are still over powered or just normal now? You have actually pointed something out to me that I had never actually paid any attention to. Thanks.
