Made out in his robes like this though makes it look as if he has only just turned.

The GW painted model does, but Cypher's FLUFF is very clear that his armor is supposed to be BLACK.

Someone wasn't paying attention when they painted him.

The background has always stated that the Fallen wear pre-Heresy first legion armour, black armour, the Dark Angels changed to green post-Heresy. The 'Eavy Metal team wasn't paying attention.

I don't think there is anything to say otherwise. And from a DA perspective post or pre-heresy they are all fallen to them and should probably be treated so.

Depends. If you take Fallen to mean traitor DA, yes. Traditionally, the name refers to those from the Heresy, though

I don't mean to swing against the fluff in any way but this is just the sort of inside joke that I could see GW pulling. I think there is a good chance this maybe a new take on cypher simply because cypher means to use a hidden message.

The hidden message being that spine we are all looking at, it is cypher in a cypher. Smart???

I reckon we are being pre-emptive to suggest that DA will be in a starter box or if they are it will be more like regular marines painted like DA similar to BA in second and BT in 3rd. DA are too niche to be a starter box army, a lot of people wouldn't buy the box if the models were too heavily DA themed.

My guess is DA being the first 6th ed codex or the plastic generic marines in the starter will be styled as DA in all the box art.

I'm guessing you haven't noticed what the painting set is for 40k.

It's Dark Angels.
The painting set being Dark Angels is the absolute, most concrete piece of evidence you need to work from.

His point still stands that the starter marines could be generic minis painted green,which the new paint set facilitates,
IMO I can't see any chapter specific items being in the starter for either faction as a lot of sales of aobr came from people buying the set for cheap minis for x chapter or x ork horde

6th Edition 40K Rulebook will be out first, then a 40K Starter set will come out.

Is it possible GW are hpoing this image will make people buy the mag, to see the image? And it has absolutely nothing to do with the "leaked" 6th Ed or DA update?

helium42: I think putting Belial in the starter box is a long shot, considering that they could put him in a blister and charge $35 for him.

Or you could just scratchbuild/convert a passable Belial now so you have him ready to go and players familiar with your conversion.

If you guys look at the bommer models and the new flyers, you'll see that they have the special rule "Supersonic".

In that "leaked 6th edition" rulebook, Supersonic was one of the rules.

Those new flyers are 6th edition units. Case closed.

The main tease is for a battle report. The bigger news is that it says July WD goes on sale June 23, 2012. Since BramGaunt said this morning that June 30 is the release date of 6th edition, I expect to see a few pages dedicated to the 6th Ed. BRB in that issue of White Dwarf.

So does the Night and Doom.Scythes and the Razorwing Jetfighter. That "leak" could easily be a fandex, and he just added that in so everyone knows what it does.

A battle report? But wasn't there a tease for a battle report at the end of last month's WD? And there wasn't one in this month's one...just pictures upon pictures of planes.

And if you look in the DE codex youll see that it contains the rules for both supersonic and aerial assault That said, 6th IS comming
