I'll finally be giving in and buying a trio of Vendettas. That purchase will be followed by a pair of FW Hydras, then some Manticores.

I might also have to buy a bunch of Mordian heavy weapon teams which are crazy expensive.

I personally now want some of the fortifications. The Aegis line will help my squishy Guard forces.

I would ask that negative comments be avoided here, thanks!

More thousand sons and chaos space marine psykers. (they are actually usable now )

More "And They Shall Know No Fear" models.

Because they can't be swept, don't take no retreat rolls, and can shoot, move, and charge like normal for rallying.

teehee.

Also, LIBRARIANS, OH GAWD. 4+ Deny the Witch on all Squads within 6", when you are playing a gunline list, is amazing.

Sorta indirectly, they make me want to buy a Finecast Nob with Waaagh! Banner. Unfortunately, my memory sucks enough that for some reason I thought they made it in Finecast, but they really don't.

The reason is that the Allies rules have been a dream come true for my Sisters and Marines, but have necessitated upping the points values to include enough fun toys like a Command Squad and Penitent Engines. As such, my opposition, an Orks player, has had units added to their force too, including a mob of Nobz with a Waaagh! Banner. Sadly, said Nob is metal, and is too top-heavy to stand up at all, and just keeps falling over. I may go and tinker with that list, because spending 25% of the army's total point value on 7 two-wound models does not seem like a smart investment in retrospect.

Edit: However, I might go out and buy Ghazghkull Thraka... or however his name is spelt... if he's available in Finecast. It'd be nice to have a model to use as a Warboss in Mega-Armor, and I've thought about getting him for a while now for that purpose.

Rules don't make me buy models. The sculpts do. However, I usually don't buy stuff I don't intend to field.

So having said that. One or two Ork Dakkajets look very likey to show up in my future.

I was planning a mech-vet guard list, but 6th changed those plans. I'm investing in more Russes and plasmavets, moving all my melta into Storm Trooper squads, along with not using Chimeras. Exterminators and Punishers(!) are actually looking like decent choices now. I might even use Enginseers, who knows?

Edit: Also, if the riders' helmets on Eldar jetbikes didn't look so goofy, I'd definitely pick up a few. I like how the allies rules let you field units from disparate armies that you considered buying just to paint but then held off on 'cause you didn't really want to spend on another army.

The new rules gave more priority to me getting a trygon, if only to magnetize it for some wings (possibly some balrog wings from LOTR or dragon wings from fantasy, as I notice the only wing biomorphs available in 40k are for the smaller units, and I don't want to buy another tyrant kit just for the wings) and call it a harpy. Also made more likely to use my hive tyrant with wings to have another flying MC on the field. For the most part, though, I'm waiting to play a few games and see what works and doesn't in 6e before I start spending money.

This is very odd for me to be saying, but...I'm trying to decide if I'm offended by your avatar-I mean, I'm all for mocking Mel Gibson...but he's actually playing the part of my ancestor in that movie (yes, we can trace the family tree back to William Wallace) and I'm not sure how I should feel. I never thought I'd actually be offended by anyone's avatar. Weird. I need to go sit in a corner now and think.

Flyers aren't essential in terms of 'you must take this in order to have a legal army', but Vendettas have been considered one of the best (if not the best) single units in the Guard Codex for a while, as you could scout them up (in 5th) and fire 3 Twin Linked Lascannons into the side of enemy vehicles, getting a cover save if you went second, and they are so cheap for their points as well. However, they can no longer do this and it's going to be interesting to see how they work in 6th ed.

Well, considering the new flyer rules, I would say that they are still one of the best units in the game, especially with the temporary dearth of stuff with skyfire. As more AA gets added in new codexes and maybe additional FAQs, flyers will become a bit more balanced. I'd still say that the Vendetta will still be a contender for best unit of the edition, given its price point.

On moon miranda.

Nothing really, I'm actually contemplating selling off some tanks. There's nothing in the new rules that I'm sitting here thinking "Oh man, I need some of these now!", mostly its "well, I this portion of the stuff I've got became a little more useful if I use it this way, this other stuff got worse, and everything else is pretty much the same."

I was waiting to see the 6th flyer rules before getting a Stormtalon, probably going to pick one up at some point now.

I like the changes to bikes, will probably bump my half squad (3+ attack bike) up to a full squad. I need to get my scout bikers on the field to see how they do, but suspect that they are going to be bumped from the 3 man squad they are now up to at least 5.

An Aegis line is also high on my list, not just to field as terrain, but for the AC arms on my dread

10 more assault marines are on my long term wish list. Not due to any changes in the rules, but I got to see the apoc book last saturday, and if I want to use the battle company detachment rules, I can't have the 8th squad split between bikes and speeders, they need to be stock jump pack troops.

Too late, already own them

Hell Dorado too

Used some of their mini's for conversions, their stuff is pretty good quality. Might actually have to play Hell Dorado at this point.

Though the new rules make taking/buying 2 Fortress of redemption and 9 Vendettas and plopping them down on the table for the lols in a 2000 pt match almost worth it.

Games Workshop: Ruining Chaos Space Marines since 2007

First they raised prices on the Eldar, and I did not speak out because I did not play Eldar.

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.

Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.

Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me.

After seeing what kind of devastation these cause my top priority now is some kind of air defence. Going into a game where the other side has flyers (well, Doom Scythes with the Death Ray at least) and you have nothing to counter them you might as well pack up and go home.
