hey all, I've been hesitant to update this because I don't have any content other than fluff, but here it is:
Sakura had removed her kimono and was preparing a bath inside her home. As the water from the hot spring nearby filled the tub she emptied a tincture of oxidized copper into the bath water. in truth Sakura was Morka, and the copper oxide dissolved in the hot water would dye her skin temporarily green. The addition of fake tusks that fit over her real teeth along with a set of red pyresense contacts completed the illusion that she was an ork. Unbeknownst to her she would not need the skin dye and makeup for long, as a large patch of green skin was growing over her back. As the bath continued to fill she put in her contacts and prepared to slip herself into the now green water. then she heard the heavy sound of ork feet entering her house. Had Momo gotten curious and come to find Morka himself? “I’ll be out in a minute!” she said.
“is this your house?” it wasn’t Momo, the voice sounded regal, but savage.
“Who’s there?” she yelled back draping a towel around herself in case the intruder decided to enter the room. Sure enough the footsteps grew closer, and soon the shadow of an ork with a jetpack on his back appeared on the paper door.
“are you morka?” the shadow asked.
“I am, who are you?”
“Morka you don’t know me, but I have to ask: do you have a locket with a picture of a family holding a baby?” how did he know about her locket? “I have an identical one. I’ll slide it under the door.” The shadow reached up to his neck and removed a necklace before leaning down to slide it under the door. Sakura picked it up and opened it. sure enough the picture was identical to hers: a mother, a father in mechanicus robes, a son, and a baby. “that baby is you, and that boy is me. Morka, I’m your brother.”
“WHAT!”
“no time to explain, but you need to get dressed. The imperium knows we’re here, and if they capture us we’ll be vivisected for sure.”
“what does the imperium want with us?”
“like I said no time to explain. Get dressed, we don’t have much time.”

Sounding pretty good. Why aren't the Orks speaking in Orkspeak though?

Also, a Stompa styled after an Evangelion would be awesome.

because they are speaking Gothic not Orkish. when they talk like orks you know they are speaking Orkish. also the ones we've met other than Mek Amune and Mek Umasa are not full orks, Orka, his sons, Doc and the other brothers all have human type brains. IE they think like a human. thus they talk like a human. regarding Kari, Sakura, and Yamamoto, they were all born human then exposed to mutagen that made them part ork, thus they mantain their human speech patterns.

also, how did you know this blog would conclude with a stompa? I'm planning on making it a big giant samurai, kind of like a megazord, but some eva fins may slip into the design.

OO' DA 'ELL DO YA FINK I IS?

sorry felt the need to do that for a moment, anyways I'm currently working on a new model for Mek Umasa to reflect his new status as a big mek. he's going to have a shock attack gun I've made out of a KFF big mek and some BW parts. I should have him ready sometime today so watch this space

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Alright Umasa and his shock attack gun are ready:

here you can see a front view. not very samurai ish, but he's just jumbled together from spare parts what do you expect?

here you can see the rear of him, and the bomb shell that serves as his "ammo containment unit". I tired to make a hose to cover up a place I tried to glue already, and it may need a little work on the stitching patterns. so what does Dakka think?

Alright I've done a bit of work on the tube:

I've added a few couplers to each end, plus a valve to control the flow of snotlings.

also I've got a somewhat painted ork boy (he still needs his teeth, and a wash) to show you what the basic paint scheme will look like. other units will have a few different modifications (ninjas have black hoods, meganobz have gunmetal armor, tankhunters have red or maybe yellow hats (red for tradition, yellow for dakka), ect, ect, ect) but they will mostly have this scheme.

also these pics were a test of my new PS vita's camera function, which fails compared to my iphone. sorry about the pic quality.

Can't sleep, had to finish this bit of fluff before my body will let me sleep:
The villagers were being loaded into a massive bomber that had made a VTOL landing in the forest just at the edge of the village. Members of the eight thunders brigade loaded stretchers of the old and infirm on first, then women and children. When the time came to load the men onboard the sound of imperial Valkyries could be heard in the distance. Momotaro turned to Sakura, who was dressed in a simple nightgown that was the first thing she found. Her red contacts were still in, revealing her to be Morka. “I don’t know why you never told me who you were, but I don’t care right now. Get on that transport with your brother, whatever he is, and take off. We’ll hold them here so they don’t chase you.”
“no! I’m staying with you no matter what!” she protested.
“Morka, Sakura, whatever your name is, your blood will not be on my hands. If I have to have the men restrain you and force you on that transport I will.”
Watching this quarrel Yamamoto, who was sitting on the rear wing of the transport ignited his jetpack and landed right next to the pair. “both of you are getting on that transport.my men and I will stay behind to buy you time.”
“but once the transport leaves you’ll have no way to escape. It’s a suicide mission.” Momotaro said.
“no it’s not.” He rattled the dakkatana sheathed on his waist. “at the core of this blade is the shogun’s sword, incorporating a bone from the thumb of Saint Kami. Before this blade was re-forged into a dakkatana after I became an ork I never thought the blade was anything special, but now I’ve sliced through blast doors in once slice without any effort. With this blade on my side I am invincible.” With his other hand he pointed to his jetpack. “plus once you take off we can still rendezvous with you in the air.” the ork and the becoming an ork exchanged glances at each other before Momotaro climbed up onto a crate and made an announcement in orkish:
“ay you’ze gitz listen up! me and Morka is leaving in dis here bomber to get ready for da big WAAGGH against the humie imperium. Any git dat wants ta stay here an fight are welcome, but you is gonna probably die if ya do an miss da big krumpin. Any of ya dat stay can be guaranteed a cold meal for the rest of yer short life, and ye’ll die in some small skirmish ‘cause you ran out a ammo. But if you get on the transport now we’z going to an orky fortess in mount Jirya, where maybe you’z can get a hot squig pie and a cold mug of fungus brew, and you’ll be part of the next big WAAGGH: WAAGGA NOBZUNAGA!” he paused for effect. Human rhetoric and ork rhetoric were closer than either species would like to admit. The only minor difference was that failure in human rhetoric could be easily fixed by an Argumentum ad baculum by invoking the name of the god emperor, whereas orks were much more responsive to argumentum ad populum and in fact when used on them it almost seemed like it wasn’t a logical fallacy.

Momotaro asked if anyone wanted to stay behind, and in response every ork of the Eight Thunders Brigade piled into the bomber taking up any open space that was not already filled by the men, women, and children of the village. Soon the orks were fighting over who would man the door and turret guns, resulting in two or three casualties. The pilots had to fight their way to their seats before locking the cabin door behind them so that a certain Kommander Kong wouldn’t barge his way in and attempt to take the controls himself. Instead Kong found his way to the only unoccupied seat, one of the massive bombs, where he reclined his head on the tail fin and waited for the mild hypoxia of high altitude to lull him to sleep. The fungus in his body would keep him alive in the hypoxia of the unpressurized bomb bay, so he would sleep until the plane dropped in altitude and his faculties returned to him. The massive engines of the bomber began to lift it into the air, just as the imperials began to rappel into the village.
Left behind in the clearing created by the aircraft stood Yamamoto and his stormboyz.“you know the drill boys, if you can’t fight anymore head back to the ship. Anyone who tries to run away before I give the order without missing a limb will receive a complimentary year’s supply of my dakkatana up their sphincter.”

alright a little bit of background fluff, medical reports by Doc on Sakura and Prince Yamamoto, and the introduction of another major character:
Medical Report for Sakura Yamamoto:
Patient came in for examination with little visible injuries. Cause for visit more unusual. Subject is a healthy female estimated age nineteen. Examination revealed patch of green skin seemingly spreading from spinal column on back consistent with mutagen exposure. X-ray imaging performed on upper back and head. X-ray revealed implanted gland located below penile gland connecting to medulla oblongata believed to synthesize mutagen. Removal of gland impossible without significant damage to brain. Believed that glad was implanted soon after birth based on position and growth surrounding it.
Recommended course of action: allow patient to progress to full orkish state, no other alternative.

Medical Report for Haruto Yamamoto:
Patient brought in as control subject as well as for treatment of minor bruises and abrasions. Subject is a healthy ork (formerly human) male age twenty one. In comparison with sister Sakura X-ray was performed on head. Subject possessed same gland in same position as sister. Upon consultation with subject as to when orkish traits began to develop revealed that proximity to orks activates gland, and proximity to large groups of energized orks accelerates production. Believe that this gland is result of the research of Magos Blackmane, and locket subject wears on neck contains picture of Blackmane with local woman and what appears to be a son and baby. Subject claims that Blackmane or whoever the magos in the picture is, is subject’s father. Have sent assistant Kuko to locate Blackmane’s old lab on other side of mountain.
Side note: it is times like these I wish Hera was still around. She had a better understanding of the mutagen and humans than all of us, (and I miss her.) this part is scratched out

Kuko: Kuko to boss, Kuko to boss, come in boss.
Doc: yes what is it Kuko?
Kuko: the notes and gobbinz you told me to get, I found them, but they burned. They just pile of ash.
Doc: I should have guessed, anything else to report?
Kuko: yea boss, there’s a girl floating in a tank over here.
Doc: a girl?
Kuko: yea, ork girl, floating in green tank.
Doc: any clues who she is?
Kuko: there’s terminal next to tank, one sec. (sound of keys being punched) says girl’s name is Hera.
Doc: Hera?!
Kuko: you want me wake her up and let her out boss?
Doc: no, let me get Cadmus and the others first. Cadmus and Hera were very close, he should be the one to let her out.
Kuko: ok boss!

also I've made a few more ninjas, including a ninja nob (that I forgot to take a picture of before I undercoated him ) I'll see if I can get some pictures of them before I need to leave for my classes today.

ok here's the ninjas:

there was a bit of a spray paint accident when I sprayed the nob, but it kind of adds to the ramshackle nature of dakkatanas that there would be some pitting on the blade.

alright, here's some expansion on Hera's background:
Doc had gathered the family in the laboratory where Hera had been found. Cadmus barely recognized her as an ork. Her alabaster skin had become lime green, and two comparatively miniscule tusks jutted from her mouth. “who is she?” momotaro asked as Cadmus held his hand up to the tube.
Doc slapped him on the back of the head. “I’ll tell you later, but your father’s having a moment right now.” In Cadmus’s mind a flood of memories rushed in.

Back when he was just a yoof they used to play regicide together. He would always win, but she always retorted with an ancient terran saying: “when the game is over the king and the pawn both go in the same box.” That was always what she would say: that in death all things were equal. He was destined to be a great warboss, while she was just an initiate into the ways of the machine cult, but she was a human, and he was an ork, so in the eyes of the imperium she was above him in that way.

Back in the laboratory momotaro asked again: “so who is she?” Cadmus sighed and looked at his firstborn son.
“you know how the squigherds like to place a grot with young squigoths to get them acquainted with being around orks? She was our grot, meant to ensure we had regular human contact to make sure our ork instincts didn’t take over. She was our friend, our playmate, and for me, my love.”
Yamamoto chuckled. “and here I thought orks only loved to fight.” Doc smacked Yamamoto on the back of the head. “what was that for?”
“you love your family right?” he scolded the stormboy.
“but I’m not an ork, I’m a human in an ork’s body. And if you slap me with that hand again I will cut it off.”
“orks are capable of love as well, familial love forms in mobs who have seen a lot of action together, they treat each other as their brothers. Romantic love is unexplored territory for orks, which is why Cadmus’s attraction to her was a point of study for the project. The study found that it was closer to familial love between a pair of individuals than human’s idea of romance.”
“so if she was human, why is she in a tube of mutagen?” Sakura asked.
“that was the plan.” Cadmus said. “when the project was attacked Hera thought up a plan for revenge. I would lead our family to the nearest ork world where I would become a warboss and form a WAAAGGH, come back to get Kari, Hera and any other survivors before taking the WAAAGGH on a hunt for the inquisitor that declared the project heretical. I may be a great tactician, but Hera was the mastermind of my plans.” Cadmus pushed a button on the tube’s console and drained the mutagen before the tube opened and Hera fell into Cadmus’s hands.
Her eyes began to open and she looked up at Cadmus. “did the plan work?” she asked him.
“not yet, not yet.” He held her tightly and she returned his embrace.

alright a bit of fluff to introduce my Chinork:
Momotaro was surveying the quickly built ork town that had been made in the hollow center of Mt. Jirya. having failed to make a roll call of his men on the ride in he now searched the town for his men who were enjoying the first chance to spend their saved up teeth since he had become their commander a year ago. there were only two men missing: Boy Grotkick and Kommander Kong, and he thought he spied Grotkick munching on a piece of deep fried squig at Kolonel Scorcha's fired squig stand. "Oi Grotkick, you seen Komander Kong?"
Grotkick turned around and said with a face still full of fried squig: "no boss I ain't seen him. last I saw him he went down to da bomb bay on dat flash plane we was on. funny dat when we dropped da bombs on dat umie wagon mob I'd swearz I heard some ork howlin."
"great," Momotaro thought to himself. "now I have to send out a search party for my best tank commander. knowing his luck the bomb blast probably only softened the fall, he was certainly still alive."

alright here's what happened: you know Kong was sleeping on the bomb, well here's basically what happened next:

except Kong survived that blast, and now is in enemy territory, and needs an extract by this:

too bad three out of the four meks avalable (Kari, Hera, Sakura) to finish this are out sightseeing in the town to give Sakura a chance to absorb enough WAAAGGH energy to transition into an ork quickly so that she isn't stuck in an awkward in between stage for long. leaving Mek Umasa alone to finish this thing, and he's just being a lazy git right now. maybe someone will come beat some work ethic into him.

had an interesting run in with a group of Japanese exchange students as I was checking this blog in the cafeteria, they absolutely loved my army. although now they may think that the translation of Oni into English is ork. anyways I was bombarded with compliments on my army of "green samurai oni with machine guns".

also I don't know why I didn't post this yesterday when I had the chance, but I've made some progress on the chinork, I just need to figure out what to make the rattler cannon out of and where to put it.

changes around the passenger compartment, the driver hatch, and filled some gaps since the last time you've seen it.

what do you think, should I mount a bayonet on the forward big shoota for ramming?

Rather than just a bayonet, how about a whole rack of stabbin' spikes? One of the pieces from the Killa Kan kit would be perfect.

Also, congrats on the good response from the students! When the country you're basing the project on approves you're doing it right. Incidentally, Oni are a kind of Japanese ogre, so it kind of makes sense that they referred to them as Oni. My anime fan fu is strong.

I've got a lot of stuff that I've worked on today, basically I saw some bitz just laying around and my inner mek kicks in and wants to do something with it:
first up is the burna boyz, well they're mostly only half their finished self:

most of them still need heads and legs, but only using half the bitz in a box when I could get a bunch of burna boyz to go with my lootas made me a sad ork. I'm not even sure that burna boyz have their uses, but just seeing so many unused sprues made me just need to use them.

also I've got my second dakkajet done. not much to see here that hasn't been seen before.

this vehicle I don't really even have rules for, but I've wanted to make one since I saw the grabbin claw. this is the Scrap Wagon, a mobile salvage harvester that gathers the raw material for the meks. no real samurai theme here, I just really wanted to make this.

one more thing before I'm probably done for the night:

here's kommander Kong himself. he wasn't originally supposed to look like an orky M. Bison, but when I was done with him at first he looked like M. Bison to me, so I gave him a cape.

I'll have some more fluff some time tomorrow morning. until then enjoy.

you mean Torii? I would but to get the propotions right the BWs would be harder to transport, and that's one of my main issues when I do my conversions. but I would like to use those somewhere, maybe have the belly gun on the stompa bordered by a Torii.
anyways here's the fluff I promised, more of Doc's medical reports:
Medical Report for Hera Olympius
Subject has just been awakened from an extended suspended animation in a tube of mutagen. Subject’s appearance age, estimated twenty five, actual age, forty seven. Subject appears healthy by all accounts, ork physiology has prevented significant atrophy of muscular structure. Test of mental acuity administered, subject was given a pile of scrap and told to make something. Subject assembled shoota in seven minutes twenty eight seconds. After examination finished subject was given a change of clothes from Kari, believe that a tank top, denim pants with leather chaps will become new uniform of mek sorority that subject and Kari discussed forming.

Second Medical Report of Sakura Yamamoto
Subject returned to office a day after the first examination to study progression of mutagen. Subject’s activities during the previous day included walking around town, drinking fungus brew, one bar fight. Mutagen has made significant progression. Original area on back has expanded to shoulders and buttocks, as well as up the back of the neck and up to just below ears. Physical changes now include more than skin coloration, most prominent on face. Nose has become upturned, ears have become pointed, tusks beginning to develop, and pupils have become red with sclera seeming to begin to shrink. original "cherry blossom pink" hair color (believed some form of mutation caused by latent gland) has begun to shift to a darker red color. Estimate a few more days like this will leave subject a full ork.
Addendum: subject returned to office complaining of flu like symptoms, physical examination shows subject’s blood has become green. Also subject’s white cell count elevated, suspect a type of leukemia caused by mutagen spreading from nervous system to marrow. The new ork immune system does not recognize her human genetics anymore and views them as an infection. Problem should resolve itself given implanted gland’s steady stream of mutagen. Just in case I am preparing a tank of it if subject worsens. Subject sent home with instructions to take it easy and rest.

next up is a short bit with Sakura and Momotaro about why Sakura became Morka. let's see if I can finish it before class

WAHOO, done with about 45 minutes to spare, just enough time to read over my copy of IA 8 and figure out what I want to do for my stompa, as well as any other vehicles I can think up.
Momotaro knocked on the door to the hab where Sakura and Haruto were staying. He heard Sakura yell from inside: “Bro, can you get that?” soon Haruto answered the door.
“it’s Momo!” he yelled into another room.
“I came to see your sister, I heard she was sick.” Momotaro told Haruto.
“she has the transition sickness, she’ll be over it in a day or two. It only took me three days after I got sick until I was a full ork.” Haruto replied. “well come in, Sakura is in the other room.” Momotaro followed Haruto into the other room. Sakura was laying on the bottom bed of a bunk bed wrapped in blankets. She was shivering, and Momotaro walked over to put his hand on her forehead.
“she’s burning up.”
“yea, she’s had a fever and the chills all day. Happened to me too.”
Momotaro sat down on the bed next to her and stroked her hair like his mother used to when he was sick. “Sakura, I need to ask you a question. It can wait if you’re not feeling up to it, but I need to know: why did you pretend to be an ork? That was a really elaborate disguise you did on a regular basis. If you had just told me you wanted to be a member of the Eight Thunders I would have let you join.”
“I wanted you to notice me, like I noticed you.” she said.
“what?”
“ever since your parents died you used to sit on that cliff top overlooking town. You just sat there all alone, and I would watch you from my flower garden. As long as I can remember I’ve been alone too, and I saw in you a kindred heart. I tried to get your attention plenty of times when you were walking through town, but you never seemed to notice me. so I became Morka and when I wore the skin dye and makeup you started paying attention to me. I was actually willing to keep on being Morka if it meant that you would get to know me and feel the same way about me that I fell about you. you see I love you Momotaro Nobzunaga.” Tears began to well up in her eyes as she said that last sentence, and Haruto couldn’t be sure, but he thought he saw Momotaro’s trademark goggles begin to mist up as he embraced her. no words needed to be said, and he went over to the other room to clean and oil his slugga, which still had some poor guardsmen’s brain matter on the handle.

I've decided to make a little Christmas special for the fluff for the next month or so. the plot line will follow the orks attempting to trick the imperials into letting their guard down for the holiday season, just before a major offensive. here's the beginning:

Orka had returned to his hab towards the top of the mountain. It was smaller than he was used to, only two rooms not counting the lavatory. With him was Haruto who was tired of his sister and Momotaro’s public displays of affection in his room. Outside the door was a simple note that someone had attempted to make fancy with beautiful calligraphy. It was simply addressed to “his excellency the Shogun” Orka opened the note and read it:
The most honorable Shogun, in thanks for his part in the salvation of the village of Khona is humbly invited to the celebration of the feast of Saint Christos on the twenty fifth of this month. He is welcome to bring as many guests as he likes in thanks for his service.

Orka turned to Haruto. “you’re from around here. do you know about the feast of Saint Christos?”
“of course I do, I’m surprised you don’t.” Orka looked at him expecting him to continue. “sorry, the feast is a celebration of the birth of Saint Christos, believed to have lived on terra in the days of ancient man, some even say behind the priest’s backs that Saint Christos is in fact one of the disguises the Emperor used back before the great crusade. The holiday is also known as Christos’s Mass, or Christmas.”
“so it’s just a big meal and a mass?” Orka asked.
“little bit more than that. You see Saint Christos has many other saints associated with him: Saint Nicholas who brought gifts to Christos as a baby along with two of his men, Saint Mary the mother of Saint Christos, and even Oladius Pious, saint of the imperial guard who named Saint Christos as his patron.”
“wait, I’m not up on my imperial saints, but did you say the saint of the imperial guard listed Christos as his patron?”
“he named Saint Christos as his only patron saint.”
“this gives me an idea. Prince Yamamoto, I think it’s time we spread some holiday cheer.”

Commissar Gerius was making his rounds through the camp when he stumbled upon a group of off duty guardsmen listening to a portable vox playing a cheery tune. “commissar on deck!” he barked. The men stood at attention and saluted him. “now what is going on here?”
“we’re listening to some hymns, sir!” the commissar listened to the song for a moment, it was not a hymn he recognized.
“what station is this?”
“local one sir, someone set it up and it’s been playing imperial hymns and scriptures all day. Lots of stuff about Saint Pious and how we should do our duty.”
The music ended and a woman’s voice came on. “Hello to all the brave men out there in the trenches fighting to free this world from the grubby paws of the xenos. I’d like to remind you that the Feast of Saint Christos is only twenty seven days away. So make the other guy in your fox hole something special to give him to show how much you care. Now we’ve got a special tune we’ve been saving for the first snowfall of the season, and we’ve just received word that snow is falling in the Hanzo Valley, so this goes out to all you brave boys of the 35th argonian infantry.” The vox began to play a song about a dulcet toned man’s dreams of a white Christmas.
Meanwhile in the Hanzo Valley the officers opened their contingency orders they had been told to open when this song was played over any radio station. The orders said simply:
this signal means that headquarters is under attack and other communications lines are unavailable , evacuate position and fall back to main base as soon as possible to defend or re-take.

hello all, yesterday was kind of a weird day, and I don't exactly have anything done on account of not having any minis to assemble and a lack of desire to paint. anyways I ordered some stuff two days ago, but it's going to take awhile to get here (had to skimp on shipping). anyways I've got some foamboard just laying around and I was wondering: what should I try to scratchbuild a battlefortress, or a bomber? your pick Dakka, I'd like to hear your opinions.

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.

Battlefortress. You could make it into a rolling Shinto temple or Himeji castle, only killier! Maybe add some Miko grots and a giant orky guardian statue.

Also, you simply must throw in a Segata Sanshiro reference somewhere.

Yes on the castle and statues, no on the shrine and cross dressing grots. I originally envisioned Sakura as a miko before she became a loner. So if anyone is its her.

got some WIP on two vehicles as I wait for stuff that should be coming some time next week. the first is the battlefortress I asked about, and yes it is built like a castle:

that's the other thing I have to show you next to it, a looted rhino serving as a mek boy junka. here's a closer look at it:

that's a shock attack gun it's got mounted on its roof, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it other than: ORKY ARTILLERY LIST! need to think about that. I still need to write the green tide list, maybe there can be some artillery support in the form of some supa kannons.

EDIT: also I've posted one of my army lists for the dread list: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/492047.page

I've got some updates on the battlefortress: I've got a mockup of what the shape will look like before I put all the gobbins on it:

I used some pieces of my broken griffons to put some tracks on this beast, and when I was done it reminded me of a giant turtle, thus I came up with a name for it: Great A'Tuin. I still need to get some plasticard to skin this thing before I start randomly strapping guns to it, but I guarantee it will be impressive when I'm done. now seeing as I can't do any more real work on it until next week, I may try making that bomber I was talking about. We'll see

honestly I just write fluff when I don't have time to build models or don't have models to build. if you look closely they will mostly be posted between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM Tuesdays and Thursdays. those are between when I wake up and I'm still groggy, and when my first class is that day. most of the time my afternoons are free to work on models without any interruption, so that's when I work on them. also writing fluff gets my brain warmed up for academics.

The Battle Castle is looking cool! How about you do the main gun so it has a brass Oriental dragon head as the muzzle?

like from the defiler? I'll see what I can do, but I've already mounted a basilisk cannon on the front. I'll see if I can loot the defiler I made months ago and never got around to painting, because that is a cool idea! also I've also started working on a mega bomber, but the glue on the skeleton still needs to dry. also I've started simulcasting on Warseer as well. so if you see me over there feel free to say hi.

the defiler nose fit like a charm, almost like it was designed to, I just can't quite get a good picture of it with the light Ive got, need to wait for the sun to rise before I can use the window as my light source. anyways we haven't actually heard anything from Kommander Kong since he fell out of the bomber, so here's an update:
Komander Kong had made his way to the former seat of the warboss Nobzunaga on route to Mt. Jirya. He had stopped by a fountain in the center of the city to take a drink. As he cupped his hand and took a sip of the cool water he felt something poke him in his back, then another poke. He started feeling sleepy as he spun around to search for what had poked him, but all he saw was the glare of a rifle scope off in the distance. Whatever was making him sleepy was getting worse and he could barely stand. He collapsed onto the ground with two tranquilizer darts in the small of his back.
When he woke up he was in the belly of some mechanical beast. Another ork, a yoof without a shirt was and a familiar birthmark on his chest was leaning against the far end of the room. “Who’z you?” Kong asked.
The yoof looked over at him. “who me? I have no name, no past, no knowledge of who I am. Is that normal for an ork?”
“so you’z just out of yer spore pod? So do you’z know where we is?”
“we’re in a Valkyrie, on our way to meet someone called “the Inquistor” where I will be vivisected and you will be interrogated so that he will know where to find others like me.” the yoof paused for a moment, realizing he wasn’t supposed to know this. “I overheard our guards in the cabin discussing our fate, but what they don’t know is that if I take this panel” he grabbed a hold of the panel in front of him and ripped it off. “and remove it like so. Then rip out these wires.” He grabbed a bundle of wires and tore them out. Warning klaxons blared in the cabin as they were forced against the wall as if the world had turned on its side. Then the crash that threw the two orks around like ragdolls and forced one of the locked doors to the Valkyrie open. Kong took a moment to adjust his bashed head, but the yoof was already outside riffling through the remains of the pilots who had died in the crash. Kong soon joined him. The yoof paused while examining one of the pilot’s uniform. “Acolyte Trowa? I wonder if he appreciated how truly blessed he was to have something as simple as a name?”
Kong chuckled. “Well he ain’t usin’ it anymore.”
There was a glimmer in the yoof’s eyes. “you’re right, he’s not using it anymore. so he won’t mind if I take it. Trowa, yes I like the sound of that name.”
“well den Trowa, we should get goin’. Da umies control everyfing between here and Mt. Jirya, dat’s where we’z going. Me boyz da eight thundas brigade is dere I fink. We be safe dere.”

Now Trowa is a character who will be appearing as a meka dread in the dread mob army that after crunching the numbers will be replacing the biker list. cookie for guessing his name reference.

I've got pics of the kannon, the mega bomber, and some fluff explaining what the Imperium wants:

I've since added a lot of panels on it, but this gives the basic idea.

like I said, fits like a glove.

here's the fluff:
“you seem troubled my lord?” Acolyte Murthus asked his inquisitor as they walked the gangplank towards the lab.
“very astute Muthus. I’ve just received word that the transport carrying the subject we captured has crashed, and he escaped.”
“by the emperor, is Trowa alright?”
“Trowa is dead. My condolences, I know you viewed each other as brothers.” The stopped in front of a blast door and the inquisitor leaned down to put his eye in the retinal scanner.
“if the emperor wishes that Trowa be called to join him, then who am I to protest.” The blast doors hissed open revealing a circular room with a man sized tube in the center. Around the tube various tech priests manned consoles and interpreted data.
“good man.” The inquisitor told his protégé. Then with practiced reflexes he spun around and in a fluid motion drew his bolt pistol to point it at the assassin behind him.
“good, you remembered your training.” The assassin chuckled. She wore the traditional sythskin that covered everything but her head. She was a Vanus, an expert in intelligence. “so here to wake the sleeping beauty and give her her medicine?”
“you know my habits Zanta, so you already know my answer.” The inquisitor replied.
“good. You know it’s such a waste that my temple executes all the failures like her. honestly we could be using them for so many other things, useful things like stopping orks. But we decide it’s better to just waste talent instead of mind wiping them and using them as lab rats. What a waste.” She turned to the tech priests. “you heard the boss, wake her up and dose her!”
The tech priests punched a few buttons and a hissing sound came from the tube. “hello? Who’s there? Please let me out.” A voice from inside the tube said. then the priests punched a few more buttons and a green liquid began to flow down a tube into the containment tube. “no please not again!” then a horrible, heart breaking scream resounded from the tube as the liquid entered it. when the screaming was over the voice whimpered: “why do you keep doing this to me? What did I ever do to you?” it was grim work what they did, but if the diviners were right their action would save this sector from an ork WAAAGH.

sorry I'm so matter of fact right now, but I've got to get my Christmas list done today if I want to see some reinforcements come the 25th, so I'm kind of in a rush.

The cannon looks great!

How about hanging some banners and lanterns under the barrel?

Also, I assume you're going to put plasticard over the exterior of the Battlecastle, cause the tape will be a bitch to paint over and will look odd.

Anyway, looking good so far!

of course I'm coating it in plasticard, that's how I roll, but right now I've only got scraps of plasticard to work with. and as far as banners and lamps, probably not, too imperial.

here's an example of what the finished plates will look like:

with all the talk of the Big E retiring I decided to look at WW2 ship's rivets for inspiration for my armor plates. don't worry I'll make it nice and orky with some patched plates here and there.

Ah that makes sense. The plating looks good. Also, you know those tools for making holes in belts? They're great for doing rivets.

I've just realized that I've got a lot of stuff I don't think I've shown you yet:

I've put some more plates on the bomber that I scavenged from some broken parts from the crawler.

here's the grabber trukk I showed earlier. now it's got a gun, tracks and some seats in the back. also I've got some rules for it: it's a scrap trukk from IA8.

now on to something I'm sure you've been waiting for: PAINT!

I've got some initial paint on the first dakkajet, I'm painting the main body the main blue color, and he armor plates, and steering veins will be gunmetal.

here's what's on my painting table: my first mob of thirty boyz, there's going to be at least three more where that came from, one already undercoated, the others I don't have yet, but I will soon.

that's all for now, /cue sci fi B movie anouncer voice, Tune in tomorrow morning for the continuing adventures of Trowa and Kong in: The Girl That Isn't There

here it is, Trowa and Kong in: the Girl That Isn't There:
Trowa and Kong ducked between the shadows of the former capitol making sure not to be spotted by the imperial patrols. As they neared the edge of the ruins they heard the sound of a woman sobbing. “sounds like some umie in trouble.” Kong said.
“we should investigate.” Trowa responded.
“aw Gork no, it’z probably a trap!” Kong protested.
“well then use your slugga and cover me.” Trowa replied. Trowa darted off towards the sound of the crying woman. Kong sighed before following him. The sound led to a ruined shrine on the edge of the city. Sitting on the steps of the shrine was a young ork woman with her head in her hands. “she looks like she needs help.” Trowa said. he moved to go towards the woman, but Kong held him back.
“Look closa ya yoof!” he pointed at the woman. “she don’t cast no shadow.” Sure enough, even though the woman was silhouetted by a fire from inside the shrine, she cast no shadow. Kong drew his slugga and fired a burst of shots at the woman, which passed right though her like she was made of mist.
She raised her head from her hands and looked around. “is someone there?” she asked. Her tone became a pitiful cry. “if someone’s there stop taunting me, I’ve suffered enough without my dreams taunting me too.”
Trowa emerged from their hiding place. “what do you mean your dreams? This isn’t a dream.” The woman got up and ran at him with arms outstretched. Kong fired another burst of fire at her, but it was no good. She tried to hug Trowa, but she passed right through him.
The next few minutes were tense as the two orks introduced themselves to the woman, and she invited them inside the shrine. There the three of them sat around the fire. The woman introduced herself as Lilith, and that aside from that she knew nothing about herself. That night as Kong and Trowa slept Lilith sat up and watched them.
Sometime late at night Trowa felt something cold seemingly trying to tap him on the shoulder. “Trowa wake up.” it was Lilith. “your vox thing is talking.” Trowa had looted a functional vox transmitter and receiver from the crashed Valkyrie, and now it hummed to life broadcasting a signal on the frequency Kong had told him to tune it to.
“this is Raidin the Lightning calling Kommander Kong, Kommander Kong if you are listening please respond.” Trowa grabbed the microphone.
“this is Trowa, Kong is safe with me. can you provide an evac?”
“if Kong is safe why isn’t he responding?” the vox asked.
“because he’s asleep. We have three for evac, our co-ordinates are a shrine on the edge of the capitol. How soon can you be here?”
“we’re dispatching a team to get you now. They’ll be at your position shortly.”
“you hear that Lilith?” Trowa asked, but Lilith was nowhere to be seen.

EDIT: we now continue where we left off:
“wake her up.” the inquisitor ordered. Acolyte Murthus approached his lord.
“sir, you asked to be notified if the subject began to give off psychic signals. Well she did during the current period of suspended animation.”
“perfect!” the inquisitor exclaimed. “she’s ready, wake her up, let her out, and move her up to the programing department.” The tech priests punched a few buttons and the hissing sound came from the tube again. Then a seam appeared on the side and the front of the tube swung open revealing Lilith with a feeding tube shoved down her throat, and an IV to administer the mutagen. Her eyes shot open, and she panicked as she saw for the first time the tube sticking down her throat. The leather restraints mainly designed to hold her steady were snapped by her new ork strength as she pulled the tube out of her mouth, gagging several times on it. she fell on her hands and knees as she vomited up the nutrient gruel that she had been fed for so long. The inquisitor stood over her and examined her. “perfect,” he said to himself. “once you’re properly programed the warboss will be unable to resist your charm, and you will lead him to his doom.” He turned to Assassin Zanta. “help her over to the warp heads for her programing. I want her to be a modern day Cleopatra.” It was unlikely Zanta was well versed in terran mythology, but the inquisitor used the analogy all the same.
Zanta had one of her goons throw Lilith over his shoulder and they walked out of the lab and across the courtyard to where they kept the psykers.
Above the complex a warcopter was flying. It had a special mission: to retrieve Kommander Kong and whoever the other two traveling with him were. For some reason the copter had been loaded with a pair of bombs. There was no reason for a evac copter to be loaded with bombs, but it was, and the pilot was not going to let good ordinance go to waste. As they flew over the complex the grot nose gunner pointed to a pair of humans carrying what looked to be a very emaciated ork. “bet ya can’t hit that one!” the grot taunted.
“oh yea? I betz I can!” the pilot triggered the release on the bombs and dropped both of them on the group.
Down below Lilith heard the sound of the bombs before anyone else with her pointy ork ears. In that moment her assassin training too hard wired to be erased even with a mind wipe took over, and she slid out of the goon’s grasp using her slippery body which was still coated in the suspended animation fluid. In a daze and acting on instinct she dove for the nearest cover, an old well in the middle of the courtyard. A few second later Zanta heard the bombs as well, and leapt for the ground to offer what cover it could. The bombs fell right behind the goon, obliterating him in a fiery burst of shrapnel, and knocking Zanta unconscious from the shockwave. Lilith was unharmed, saved by the well. still acting on her subconscious training Lilith took the opportunity to pilfer Zanta’s data pad before running as fast as she could as far away as she could. As she ran down the ruined streets she began to recognize some of them from her dreams. Could it be possible her dreams were real? Could it be possible that Trowa was real? She sped towards the shrine and hoped she wasn’t too late to join them on their evac shuttle.
