Seriously? Did you click the link through to the high res image and view it full size? Each gang's picture is bigger than the one you posted from GW... granted, there are focus issues that blur out some models. Those pictures have definitely changed my mind about some of the sets... they look much nicer than I thought from the small website images.

1) We are way ahead of the 3k goal, i want MOAR!

2) Wouldn't it be easier to hype if we had a dedicated kickstarter thread with updated OP and stuff?

Now I may be some random noisy prick on the internet, but I buy a lot of models. GW sells a lot of models. If I want to see what any current GW figure looks like, I can get a really good quality picture from their website. You're in the business of selling models, and people like to see what they're buying. I figure it can only help your business of selling models, particularly in a Kickstarter situation.

We have a downloadable JPG posted with bigger pics - does this help, or are you after something larger?

I'd also like to see "Boxed sets" (whether they're packed in actual boxes or not) of all your Justice Department models included in this. The Ape gang or the Fatties are fine, the juves or wasteland mutants are nice in their way, but at the same time, I've got piles of generic gangbangers and so forth. I'm into Judge Dredd for the Judges. I imagine many others wolud be the same. Once I saw that the boxed sets don't actually include all your Judge/Justice models (including the specialists, etc) my immediate thought was to drop my pledge by however much to just get the Judge models. I've left it for now, but please give us a way to get all of the Judges, and skip the non-Judges if we decide to...

That is a very reasonable request. I'll see what we can do!

Heh

Actually, the delay is going to work out well - instead of one item, we are going to be stretching for (quickly counts) four! Three complete forces/sets and a single mini that I think judges are going to find very useful in a Block War situation...

Just putting the finishing touches on now.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Judge Dredd: Block War became fully funded over night, and then passed its first stretch goal - many grateful thanks for all of your support.

We have just posted the next two stretch goals;

The first features not one but two new complete forces - the Zombie Horde and a Citi-Def Squad. We have had the Zombie Mistress out for a while now, but something has been distinctly missing... We will now correct that by creating a number of zombies in ragged Mega-City One garb, along with a Judge Zombie!

As for the Citi-Def, these are Mega-City One's militiamen, mostly staffed by the bored unemployed and crazies who have seen too many action vids! Armed with very heavy weaponry, they are often the instigators of conflicts between rival blocks and can be relied to bring mayhem to your tabletop!

In addition to that, we are also adding an Electro-Cordon model for the Justice Department, a mobile energy fence that should stop massed perps in their tracks!

If we are fortunate enough to have your support up to $10,000, we are going to mark the occasion with a big 'un - the Dark Judges will be coming to the Judge Dredd miniatures game, in both physical and spirit forms. Tough forces (with Manta support?) only need apply...

To show my support I'm in for $30. I want/gonna get that boxed Judge Death box set.

I will increase my pledge if something else takes my fancy and/or a mega deal pledge level emerges that 'powers up' with stretch goals...

The second stretch goal has been passed! Many thanks for your support in this, it really is allowing Judge Dredd to be the miniatures game we always knew it could be. Two new forces are now being added, the Zombe Horde and Citi-Def Squad. The Justice Department will also soon be taking delivery of some brand new Electro-Cordons, perfect for keeping massed zombies and crazy Citi-Def at bay!

Next up will be the Dark Judges, and villains don't get any worse than these four guys. Check out our Update on Kickstarter, coming a little later today, as we will be courting opinion on which models should appear as stretch goals next - the Judge Dredd miniatures game has always had a great deal of player input and the Kickstarter programme allows us to apply this input to the miniatures themselves.

Stay tuned, you will find the update at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1990654819/judge-dredd-miniatures-game-block-war

I'm all about the dark Judges, I'm getting what I want once the 10k goal is passed.

Wishlist... but heres some ideas anyway...
Maybe you could include Phobia and Nausea with the 4 dark judges- or as as a set for $10 extra? if the set is already full with the 4 judges plus spirits
Regular badass Judges from Deadworld would also be cool, with pterodactyl shoulderpads...
Not sure if your licence allows you access to Judge joker from the DC cross overs. or Ma-Ma ??
ABC robot...

I think you gotta add an a-la-cart system to your kickstarter so that we can pick extra individual models from both unreleased and existing sets.
Adding in a kickstarter only mini will undoubtably boost your sales, maybe a new dredd model mimicking a pose from the new movie/posters.

Panic...

Well, their existing boxed sets have 8 models in them, so it'd be going backwards bigtime if the Dark Judges only had 4 figures in their box unless it was half the price of the others. Phobia and Nausea or any of the other extras around there would fit thematically,

I joined in at the $60 level depending on what else comes out I may up this to the $150 level soon. So happy we got the Dark Judges now. they were the main reason I joined in and also the
lack of postage costs means I can spend more $$ on minis..

Keep up the great work on this. One thing I'd love to see from the 200AD range is the ABC warriors. I can dream.

For those interested, FRP games has a gak load of these guys available. I am torn between my love for all things Dredd and my past experience with this company.

What do you think I should do if I jump in with both feet, and then get the same treatement? IE Game comes out for about six months to a year, and then we start seeing issues, and then it dies?

I want to know if Matt here is going to do something more with this game then just pull another moneygrab? Are we going to see care and support continued for this game?

And for those that don't know- Necropolis was one of the best Dredd stories out there.

I might have a hard look at this one. Especially if that boxed set comes out. Part in parcel is the zombies, as well. You can't have Judge Death out there without plenty of zombies.

heres the link to AD2000, for those interested. (It is still pretty sweet, even after all these years...)

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That $300 mark looks sweet as it means I'd get every box set in production and funded by this kickstarter if my reading comprehension is up to scratch.

I wish there was a way to swap box sets toward something else though, be it the RPGs or whatever, as some sets just don't appeal at all.

The Judge Dredd miniatures game has been out, with continual development, for two years now. The Block War supplement, which is the reason for this Kickstarter, is the next phase of the game.

I can also say that we have recently signed a new agreement with 2000AD which now allows us to use _all_ 2000AD stories and properties (so those ABC Warriors so oft requested are now a possibility - though I would prefer to have a game with them rather than just models).

I would say there will be a fair bit of activity round this area, for as long as people keep wanting to see new material. That is always the final arbiter.

The first new stretch goes up Monday afternoon (UK time). We are now actively seeking suggestions for stretch goals, as Dredd has always been a 'community' game, but I can say we have two very sweet stretches lined up next. News on them tomorrow!

Matt, I'm not sure if you're interested in this, but...

15mm Apocalypse War.

You've got computer designs for the Justice vehicles and you'd need computer designs for the Sov vehicles, and 15mm sculpts of Judges, Citi-Def, and Sov Judges, but can you imagine how amazing it would be to wargame the Apocalypse War in 15mm?! I'd immediately pour several hundred dollars, as that's something I've wanted to do since I first read it. (who hasn't?!)

your KS, your party and I'm not even involved (not a judge dredd fan, so that limits the scope ^^ ) but despite my scepticism due to some earlier mongoose games I wish you all the best. in that light: keep in mind that not having a stretch goal up is a downer for any KS project, at any time. not sure how much it would matter for the end total but you'd be better off putting *something* up now, in my mind. even without pretty pictures or anything.

Dark Judges are a go!

I would really love a box of Brit-Cit judges to go with the small set you get for $20 - whole B-C forces for the win!

Very excited about you getting the complete 2000AD back-catalogue to use, although I think it should be spread out among different kickstarters, this is the Judge Dredd kickstarter, not the Strontium Dog kickstarter or the Rogue Trooper Kickstarter - I'd make an exception for Hammerstein though, as he was in the 1995 movie and a lot of people would love to be able to use him in that capacity

oh, and an "Anderson encased in Boing" model would be neat

Cool, I look forward to seeing it. I would, however, strongly suggest lining up images for future stretch goals in advance though. It's always good to keep a Kickstarter moving by posting new stretch goals quite quickly after breaking one... it keeps people's interest. The more they come back to see what's going on, the more likely they/we are to up their bids

Quoted for the truth.

One of the things which got and kept the Reaper KS campaign flowing was the One Active, One Future goal format which they used. People might not be interested in the one which was currently in play - but they may well be interested in the future goal enough to pimp the campaign for additional interest to get to what they wanted. Pretty sure there was even some active scheming to attempt to catch them off guard a few times by running up numbers when Reaper would normally be at lunch or sleeping.

It is a good thing to get and respond to feedback, but there is a whole lot of time between now and then for a whole lot of additional items. Have a list to work from and stuff ready to swap in when a new goal is reached and then take the feedback and work it in where it would fit the best.

We've got the stretch goals for our next one planned out rather far, and if we get to the point were I have to start thinking of new ones while the campaign is running then... well.. I won't need to bug you guys for a bigger art budget on Historia Rodentia

Another thing I think there needs to be a bundle in between the $60 and $150 point.

It could be the following:

$100, 2x Starter boxes +Walter+ Lawmaker/Judge+Judge Dredd+ Kick starter exclusive _______ [ <--- fill in the blank with what ever mini you think would be a great gift, Hammerstein, Rogue trooper, limited edition Judge Dredd or Judge Anderson.]

Or have the Street judge level come with a pat wagon...

The extra mini will be only for Kick starter and not for anything lower then the $100+ pledge level.

you need more to entice the pledger to increase his total.

At present I am only tempted at the Street Judge Level [$60]
If there was a box set of the ABC warriors, Nemesis, Rogue Trooper, or you had options to add to each box set [eg Spend $XX to add 2-3 minis to each box set] would be ideal and a way I might be tempted to add more to the project.

go have a look at all of the successful campaigns they all have things in common:

* Home page that is easy to view and understand.
* each pledger feels like they are getting the best bang for their buck. [though Reapers bones campaign sort of twisted this a bit]
* current and future goals to keep the momentum going and to entice those whom would have sat on the fence to add their $$ to the project.
* created a COMMUNITY around the game thus setting it up to succeed. This also means there will be on going support whether its updates, regular comments to questions on the KS page, tournaments, events, etc.

You have an interesting Dredd movie coming out soon use that to help your project along. Get some concept art work up on the site don't wait for the fans to choose it will take ages. Place the art work up and then let us choose. [eg have 3 to 4 options A,B,C, or D and let the fans choose that.]

just my $0.10NZD

Cheers
LGW

Hi guys,

Noted on the stretch goal comments - we had initially planned not to post more than one at a time, as it seemed, well... presumptuous However, points taken about seeing what is coming up. We will sort that out ASAP.

In the meantime, we passed the two stretch goals featured for the weekend, which means we have lots more models in the works and available for you to pledge upon - the Zombie Horde, Citi-Def Squad, Electro-Cordons... and the Dark Judges. Many thanks for your kind support on this project, we are starting to see some really exciting models now!

The Zombie Horde, Citi-Def Squad and Dark Judges will all be box sets that can be selected as one or more of your choices at Rookie, Street Judge and Wally Squad levels, and they will be added, along with the Electro-Cordons, at Council of Judges and Chief Judge levels.

Next up for a stretch goal... a persopnal favourite of mine, the Sov Invasion Force, something we have talked about doing ever since we started the Judge Dredd miniatures game. If we pass $16,000, we will add the Sov Invasion Force, consisting of six Sov Judges and Officers (with a variety of weaponry) and a Sentenoid, a large robot designed to enter an enemy city and create mayhem before the main Sov army arrives. Perfect for tackling the decadent Mega-City One judges!

Later this week, we will be posting the first version of the Block War supplement up for free download, and we will be unveiling the Pat Wagon! We have also started contracting sculptors for these new models and hopefully we will be able to showcase some of their work before the end of the Kickstarter.

I treat pretty much everything in 2 ways:

1) Standalone games I treat as "closed" systems. If something else comes out for ti, great, but I buy everything I'll ever need upfront and don't need (or sometimes even want) more stuff for it. I don't personally want to be buying supplements for every game for the rest of my life. I also buy enough factions that my friends and I can always have a game without needing to buy anything else, ever.

2) I make sure most of what I buy is cross-compatable with at least 1 other game. Most often it's 40k/WHFB, but it doesn't have to be.

So assuming I stay in for this Dredd game, I'll have the rules, a bunch of gangs/forces for it. I may pick up the RPG. And if I need to, I can always use a bunch of this stuff as 40k figures or Necromunda gangs. I don't feel a need for it to be supported forever.

Those Brit-Cit judges need some friends and to be put into a box. I'd also be interested in seeing factions from the other Mega Cities around the world, as Muties and gangers are easy figures to come by.

Yay! I have a cohort in wanting a Brit-Cit boxed set.

Actually I could rattle off a dozen boxed sets I'd love to see - Mechanismos (I, II and IIa), Judda, Judge Kraken (who would've been pretty cool as part of the Dark Judges stretch goal), fauna like Dune Sharks...

Speaking of which, we had an order a few months ago that gave me the distinct impression that someone was using our apes as Imperial Guard. Now that is an army I would like to see!

More Brit-Cits coming, including weapon variants (the Bumpf Gun!) and the Plod Bot - not sure yet whether they will be ready for the Kickstarter's end, as we want to get our sculptors working on models that have been promised thus far, like the Citi-Def and Dark Judges (hoping to have some greens on display before the Kickstarter ends). Sov Judges are the next stretch goal, and I would be surprised if we did not see an Oz Judge pop up a little later...

Sorry for not signing up and posting on your forum Matt (trying to cut back) but have you considered a "The Family Dredd" set.

Have the following

- Fargo in Long Walk Outfit = Good cursed earth wastelander leader.
- Old Dredd in Static but awesome pose = Good Justice Dept leader
- Young Dredd / Rico (2nd) in dynamic pose = Good Justice Dept leader but also synergises well with Old Dredd
- Kraken in Judda outfit = Everyone needs a Big Bad guy or cult leader model even if they dont like the Judda.
- Post Titan Rico (1st) = Criminal gang leader or another Big Bad.

Thant and of course "The Wayward Children" set of ex-Judges with :

Galen De Marco, PI (and her burly and hairy assistant)
Pointe and Clique (from the Simping Detective)
Lenny Zero
The Wally Squadders from the Low Life (who doesn't want a Dirty Frank?)

Glory is fleeting. Obscurity is forever.
