Grab Eldrad, Maugan and a DE HQ. Take 3 Eldar Harlie Squads for giggles. Spread the HQs out over the multiple Harlie squads. Laugh hilariously as you can't really do much but have super durable units. MUHAHAHAHAH

Heh - funnily enough, that's pretty close to my 5th edition list. Mauggy, eldrad, pathfinders and wraithlords. Couldn't target harlies, re-rollable saves on wraithlords, 2+ on pathfinders... lords, snipers, mauggy and death jesters popping transports and ignoring fire until the enemy got annoyed enough to advance, and then harlies would eat them. The units can still do roughly the same job, but the meta is too different. Too much anti-infantry, weaker cover - pathfinders drop, then folks can ignore the rest.

Up through 5th I used to play witch hunters and had collected at least a squad's worth of each unit in the 'dex. Obviously my tourney list was all sisters, but i cobbled all my other units into an Inquisitorial Freak list that actually won a few friendly games. One time I had a list that just ran people off the board instead of killing them. It had a Lord Inquisitor and 2 inquisitors with the psyker power that caused morale checks at a penalty equal to the difference between ld. I backed it up with a culexus assassin to make running them off easier. The inquisitorial retinues were kitted for shooting and had a PC in each squad.

The army also had some old arco-flaggelents, and 3 penitent engines, backed up by melta stormies in chimmys.

I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than throwing a curveball at your opponent, but it looked amazing spread out on the board (unfortunately the rules didn't make them all that good, because IMHO they were some of GW's best ever models).

Tau + imotek with black sun filter fun? I've seen it mess up alot of other gunlines

Also Tau + eldar is very very good. Seldom seen though as neither army is that popular. Heck, tau in general is kind of rare and I'm in Japan!

Open play night the other day, we had 3 Eldar, and 3 Tau (two with Eldar allies), those two armies made up the majority of the players.

I was in a tourney yesterday were I was the only Eldar player.

I played a pure foot list, the only mechanized things I had were 3 Walkers and 2 Vypers. I took 2nd place, just barely lost first to Space Wolves allied with IG.

I've found that foot builds can throw stupid amounts of fire. I'm not spending huge chunks of points of tanks that have a limited amount of shots, so I can put a lot more bodies in there. My 1850 list had 66 Str 6 shots, 4 Str 7, and 13 Str 8.

Alliaros has been running a stormtrooper assault IG list with good success AFAIK. No one expect to be overrun by 30 stormtroopers in their own deplyment zone while being pounded by artillery. from behind a horde of guardsmen.

Ferocious Blood Claw

United States

Once I have more Space Wolves I plan on running a Blood Claw theme list. No long fangs, no thunderwolves, and no Grey Hunters. Just Ragnar Blackmane and all three of the Claw variants. No idea if it will work at all but will be a fun game none the less.

I dont know exactly how unclassic my list was, but I recently placed first in a 1500 small 12 man local tournament using vanilla SM and Tau as my allies. Relied on more dakka: 2x TFCs, dakka pred, 2x HB razorbacks, fireknife commander w/ 2x deathrain crisis suits, and a full squad of 3 broadsides. I went for massed TL fire in case of fliers, but didnt actually face one all day.

Daring Dark Eldar Raider Rider

I'd like to try a dark eldar, slannesh daemon allies, for giggles, because hey, gw made them allies, therefore they are not as inherently bad as the dark eldar once thought.
