Doesn't it also note that the eagles are NOT included in the kit, right there on the bunker's page?

Yes, but I thought you weren't allowed to use the stuff in marketing anyway. Same thing goes for the Tau really. I could be completely wrong though.

These are looking sweet. How deep does the laser etching go? Would it hold up ok to a very light sanding to get rid of the woodgrain?

I'll get on those pictures soon, the primer is drying as I type.

Do you happen to have / know someone with an Aegis line, for a comparison shot?

Here are a few pictures to give you an idea.

Tbh, the little triangle bits to hold the acrylic plane were finnicky to figure out, and it is hard to have it flush against the post without shaving a substantial incline in the little piece of wood that it leans against. I'll have to do more tests, especially before I give my friend his copy.

All in all, though, very happy with my purchase, the price quality factor is through the roof.

It does look nice, and the light going through the acrylic insert even gives it a little "glow" that makes it stand out rather nicely. Those bases would also look pretty nice with some white stenciled lettering on them, I bet.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Many 3rd parties "use" GW figs in their pics. I think as long as you say "Figures are used for scale shot only" or something then its fine

I did paint a certain orange glow on them, to accentuate it. I think they actually work better than aegis, because of the clear acrylic clearing more of the figures behind it. The grid pattern could represent "firing ports" in the force field.

Anyway, it's nice to know there is an alternative. And that it's cheaper. that GW's. I'm curious about making a Tau quadgun to go with it now though...

I wonder if you could mount an LED underneath to shine up through the force field...may try it when mine come in.

If you make it tight, there is enough space. You could just drill a hole underneath and slip watch batteries in there, pushing the LED against the acrylic might be enough to make it shine. You might get some bleed from the vents up front (which in retrospect make little sense, they might as well put the shield generator on the outside, eh?)

Thank you for the pictures!
I think its a great product.

However, can we get a few more shots if possible showing the pieces more directly compared to the aegis line.

I.e. view showing how long they are and with multiples placed adjacent to one another etc.

If they are not of exceptionally close footprint (and linear distance covered) to an actual aegis line, some players might be concerned for modeling for advantage.

And while the merits of playing against someone who could think that is debatable (and please do NOT anyone start that) if its a match, then its a NON issue.

thank you for your time, and the pictures!

The kit makes 24 inches when assembled. Either as 6 pieces of 4 inches, or 4 pieces of 6 inches.

Technically, since figures can fit on the slope in front of the acrylic piece, there is essentially no difference between the two. I'll get more pictures once I am done with the whole line, if you want, but I only built that one segment to get pictures out quick.

The only problem I have with all of these, and it comes from having some of their kits. They are a tad too big. The doors on those just look enormous when compared to heroic figs. They're not bad kits at all, but I'd be happier if all the doors and windows were something like 8 to 10% smaller.

Aside from that, great quality product.

I finally got around to painting my LDW, and in an Infinity setting, it looks hot.

They look great. Would fit Tau and the solid panel would fit some Imperial really well imho.
