Has the material switch begun with this figure? He looks like he'd work well for any modern/near-future based games. He doesn't seem to fit too well with Anima's more fantasy-centric designs.

I think he's meant to be part of the Black Sun faction which have a more modern/clean-cut look to them. Sadly I haven't had a chance to test out the new plastic stuff yet, AT seems to
be really hard to get in the UK at the moment, especially the newer stuff, even stock on old models is hard to come by.

I have no clue as to why this is happening, AT really needs a popularity boost over here, maybe the rumored 2nd book KS could help.

So an update at last, (via BeastsofWar):

October, Release Date: July 10, 2014:
October, the cursed archer, is the darkest of all the members of the Emperor Hand. Merged with a symbiotic ancient artefact that forces
him to kill if he wants to go on living, he will carry any mission, or murder any target, making use of his unique skills.

And, Gear Mk. Trithemius, Out Now:

The Sculpts look okay I guess.

Enjoy and all that.

Archer looks neat, but for the robot-looking dude I've never been a fan of sculpted fire effects. The posing also looks a bit boring

I think the archer would be better if he had his cloak it'll make him much more dynamic, it also doesn't help he seems to be missing just so many details, hes passable but a massive step down from the artwork.

The robot, bleh... I don't even have the heart yet to post the "other" previewed sculpt.

But I shouldn't criticize so much, I'm only meant to be posting the news after all.

So are these in the same PVC as Relic Knights?

Anima is generally metal from my experience.

Yea, the models I have are metal too, but now that they are working with Ninja Division/Soda Pop, and the fact Mr October there looks like some manner of plastic, I am wondering.

Could be resin, I don't think Anima has the following to warrant plastic production.

Let's hope! The models are really pretty tiny, and PVC would ruin the details I think.

Update:

Just thought I'd post a few more previews I found on Ninja Divisions site.

Nimrod, Release Date: August 14, 2014
Nimrod has many titles, like the mad inquisitor or hunter of shades, but the one he is best known by is Murderer of Assassins. Able to sense the shadows around him, he loves most of all to destroy the best assassin in the world with just one goal; to become the ultimate killer of Gaïa.

Anaximenes, Release Date: September 14, 2014
Anaximenes is one the numerous names of this ancient kami who came from the eastern island of Varja at the same time than the Fallen Angel Jigoku no Kami. In human form and accompanied by Xiao Ling, a sacred cat emissary of the Ten-Gati, he travels throughout the continent to the pursuit of one of Orochi’s heads. The dark aeon captured his sweetheart, the daimah Ying Lu, whose family was responsible since centuries to watch over one of the seals that keep the creature confined. Samael has agreed to help and stop the return of Orochi.

Legion, September 14, 2014
There is no greater power in Samael than the Dark Wyrm Legion Ramses, the ancient Stygian emperor who merged his soul with the seven Dragons of Gaira. No power can match him. No enemy, mortal or immortal, can stand in his way. He is, without doubt, the greatest of the Fallen Angels.

Enjoy.

(P.s as a samael player christmas is ruined forever.)

Is it just me or is Ramses Legion oddly scaled? Not his literal scales, but I mean the concept art makes him look pretty massive in the body with leaner arms and a smaller head relative to it, then the render looks like a GW lizard man or something. Am I missing something?

I know that the art for Legion was used in the NCCG as "The Dragon God".

Yeah that sculpt has a tenuous relationship with the art at best. Could have been super interesting, as it is you "might" consider getting it along with 300 other models in a Reaper BONES KS.

Nimrod and Anaximenes are great examples of the sculpting improving on the concept art, or at least capturing character in a different way without losing anything.

Yep, the miniature is a MASSIVE step down from the artwork:
http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs10/i/2006/090/a/b/Anima___Dark_Dragon_by_Wen_M.jpg

Hes not even close on any level, I was actually looking forward to this release it was hinted at a few months ago,
but this miniature, just what the hell whet wrong ninja division, was your sculptor blind?

And yes I shouldn't criticize other sculptors so openly, my apologies but this is just bad.

Legion looks up my alley. Hopefully it's a nice big model. Most Anima figures tend to be smaller than I like.

Seems he should have an extra set of arms though, at least judging by the artwork. Then again, that's always been my biggest gripe with Anima. The art looks far better than the figures.

Will keep my eyes peeled.

That's what I thought as well, but the upper four limbs are wings, which I think are in the sculpt.
It looks like a chibi version of the art.

I still count six limbs coming out of the torso, counting the wings.

Not seeing it on the figure.

Regardless, there are very few anime inspired dragon humanoids I see getting produced, so I will still do my part.

[I've been on a bit of a card game binge while I'm in Japan, and picking up art books for them all, so I've got anime dragons on the brain, a bit more than usual.]

We'll I'm done complaining about Legion I think I'll just sculpt a new version for myself sometime, that seems like the better option.

[gonna go off-topic for a sec people]
Japanese card games eh? Did you pick up the Lord of Vermillion TCG and artbooks, they're pretty cool.
