Looking forward to the next installments.

I feel like a horrible person for not commenting sooner! Anyway, what a brilliant hobby project! Definitely makes me wish I lived in the UK so I could maybe have had a shot at participating. You guys are like a gaming group on steroids. It's almost laughable to see the gaming groups in my vincinity in comparison. Maybe I'll just have to start up a kickass group like that myself

Erm, back to the topic at hand: Peter, your kitbashing is flawless, as usual! Fantastic job so far!

Neil: Your models are disturbing and ambiguous in a very Tzeentchian way. Very promising, although I would love a closer look at some of the WIPs.

Anyway, a sterling job, gentlemen! Carry on!

Still though... it's a great warband full of flavor and character. And on the second half, going more mortal -> they're spot on. They look like they're right on their way to the grave (but not).

More updates, please. I'm in the same boat as Kraut... I need to move to UK and join your group... You guys really do come up with the coolest projects.

Hi everyone who replied back in MAY!!!!! Oh Jeez apologies. I'm really sorry. The ROC project didn't really catch on and we didn't play the game as planned, because only Tears of Envy finished her warband. I do feel guilty and plan on finishing the group off at some point when the momentum takes me back to these muddy waters. Then I can fight Tears' beautiful Tzeentch retinue

Here is what I did finish in about October last year.

Has the leader got warpstone for eyes? Nice detail. I feel like the red gore is a bit too bright, looks a bit fresh for such a rotting exterior, but it does make it stand out more so that's a positive. Looks very gross.

Good grief are those nasty rotten and wonderfully painted. Just gruesome and wonderfully chaotic.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. I agree with llamahead , brilliant painting on those Prestigors mate.

Well Like Peter I didn't get much stuff completed on this project - but I recently became re inspired with finishing off the Tzaangors after researching some wonderful depictions of medieval devils ;-) - Part of this project included us creating a secret piece of scenery - something I completed nearly a year ago after a flush of inspiration - it has been sitting idle for a while and I am not sure if I will be completing this project any time soon, so I thought i would pop it on here as well.

@ Peter: Beautiful, beautiful warband -- although beautiful is probably not the best word to describe them. My compliments on the head Pestigor: You really turned that goofy herald model into something amazing!

@ Neil: Mate, you're just the king of terrain building (as well as the king of expertly cutting up priceless FW stuff...): The depressing thing is that even your unfinished stuff is light years beyond the finished stuff of us mere mortals. And that last "reveal" pic -- consider my mind blown! Like the reveal at the end of a particularly great movie.

You guys just rock! Why don't you move to Germany? Pretty please?

Aye up folks, thanks for the kind words .

@Peter cheers bro magic mushrooms are a nod to the original Realms of chaos diorama by Mr Blanche
Spoiler:
Spoiler:

as displayed on the wonderful eldritch epistles blog - http://eldritchepistles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/john-blanche-undead-diorama-at.html

@GiraffeX - thanks bud- I have some wip shots of the build if that helps ? I use 3mm -5mm mdf for basing usually its very light and quite strong - and can be cut with a sharp craft knife - well if you use several strokes

@Medium of Death - cheers I think the way the light fell in the first pic is cool. still needs lots of little finishing touches though- like the skulls painting and some scatter moss flock i think - also not really happy with the stone work in the ruin but it will do .

@KrautScientist - Hey Mate , I nearly posted this on Opus after your blog - but I bottled it - as for the other offer - I would have to stop buying forge world products so i could afford it

wips

Bird seed for the bird seed god!

Not particularly a Tzeentch fan myself but that is some fantastic scenery. Superb attention to detail and glorious grime. I love the different types of vegetation, that ivy looks especially good. Somewhat in two minds about the plastic tree canopies but I've not seen a better alternative.

I don't even want to play games on this scenery, I just want to arrange some pleasing lighting and get all Ansel Adams, or maybe pose some horrors frolicking in the gardens.

I always love seeing good scenery, even if it does use largely GW parts it is refreshing to see something that doesn't just look like a neatly painted plastic kit.

Not in my original list but I was ever really going to paint a regiment of crossbow men!

Pestituar or in other words a mangy Minotaur dedicated to Nurglitch. For his attributes I rolled up Plague, Four Arms and Elastic Limbs. I also got a Crown of Eyestalks but I couldn't get it to not look goofy.

Stunning stuff guys, as per usual. The gors look fantastic from both of you, and that terrain piece is another stunner neil...outstanding work Your most atmospheric piece yet I reckon.

Pestituar is great, love the use of the claw to make two arms, very cool, and I will be stealing that

Medium - with only four/five models to go now the project doesn't feel too over whelming anymore.

Monkey - welcome to the party. Better late than never ;-) The plague ogre seemed the right choice for a four armed minotaur, though i think his face looks like an elephants.

Boba - cheers

The scenery, the minis, the Realm of Chaos books... stunning/jaw-dropping/amazing doesn't do it justice.

back in the day, I used the books to create my own lesser Chaos god Grimgnaw Redbane, who had a champion terrified of the colour red.

And for people asking earlier, these books aren't just cool old source books - they are the original source of everything we now take for granted about Chaos.
4 gods, their character, and their stables of greater/lesser/beast/mount creatures. I believe Nurgle existed beforehand, in the WHFRP books, along with Malal - but Slaanesh and Tzeentch wouldn't have existed without these amazing visionary books!

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop
