That does look hella tempting, though the wife is pushing back on taking a "vacation" to upstate NY in late November.

If you're trying to swing the "vacation" line, remember that most of the wineries in the area are still open. On top of that, the last year has seen a upswing in breweries and distilleries, many within an hour of the event.

If anyone's interested in the local fare, just ask. I have to say that before I moved to Watkins Glen (about an hour from the event location) I didn't really think that highly of wine. I thought I didn't like it. Turns out, I love the stuff. NY just has a different taste than most other popular wines.

If you're coming from the South on route 14, stop by Pompous Ass Winery. It's just north of Watkins.

There's also a couple of Meaderies within 30min of Canidagua. Get your Dwarf drank on.

YES! MEAD ftw! Cant wait I got my room all booked and tickets bought for 40k team and singles. That weekend is going to be epic!

Anyone who is able but on the fence about attending I would implore you to give it a try, and this year is shaping up to be the best yet!

This question has been asked on a few forums and I haven't seen an official answer yet. I would email the GT staff directly and pass on any answer you receive.

O'vesa by RAW definition isn't a "riptide" so by basic definition, may not count against your 0-2 limit. However, the comp restrictions are in place to encourage diversity and discourage spam. Since O'vesa is inside a riptide battle suit and is in effect, bringing a 3rd riptide to the table in a 0-2 environment, I could see the TO's ruling that he counts against your 0-2 max.

Update on ticket sales.

We are close to selling out the Team event. Their there is only space for 5 more teams.

For the 40k singles there is about 30 tickets left.

So if really want to play in the 40k team event please sign ASAP.

We will be using FAQ Council ruling on Comdemnor Boltgun

If the unit contains one or more models withe the psyker rule, it suffers a perils on that model in addition to the strength 5 hit. If there is more than one psyker, which psyker takes the perils is randomized.

If more than one Condemnor Boltgun hits the unit, each Perils result is randomized.

If the unit contains a brotherhood of psykers/sorcerers and one or more psyker models, the brotherhood unit counts as a single psyker for determining who takes the perils and then follows their rules for resolving the perils as normal if they are effected by it.

Yes, because they are troops.

This isn't what your downloadable FAQ says... it says play it as if its the same weapon in the GK army... Unless I am reading things wrong!

(btw the ruling you have here is basically the way i think it SHOULD be played!)

I'm super excited for this! depending on how you count it... its about 17 days away! I can't wait to bring my weird but somehow effective list with me!

@ frgsinwntr. We are glad you are excited. sorry about changing the FAQ rule. With GW coming out with all these supplements so quickly and badly worded rules it hard to keep up.

I heard from some friends the event was almost sold out, im glad I picked one up when I did!

Exciting times if its 1 away from sold out. That's 30 more in the 40k GT than last year. Alcohol on site. Fireplaces in the rooms.

Bring warm clothes men, going to be cold in canandaigua in a couple weeks!

Looking forward to it. A pretty large group will be heading up from the Mongers for 40k/Fantasy.

Bristol Harbour is apparently sold out of rooms for that weekend too.

DaBoyz reserved the whole resort for the event. It's possible they sold out, but you have to contact the resort directly. If you use booking.com or another middle man, they will say it's unavailable. You need to contact the resort directly and tell them you're with the warhammer group.

Since the GT has sold out or is very close, it's entirely possible that the resort is full also.

Went direct with the resort earlier. Booked solid. No worries though. There is a Holiday Inn for comparable prices only 20 minutes up the road.

How is Overall Theme scored?

Theme is scored by other players. The judges will break ties. We have never needed to break a tie. The goal is to award someone that goes above and beyond in the hobby.


Here is writing that is in the player’s packet.

Theme
This is the third year for this award. This is an independent award which is not part of your GT Score and is determined by player votes. This award is for players who go beyond “normal”. For us, this award demonstrates some of the best parts of the game. This award is chosen by your fellow players. Here are some of the things to take into account when making your choice:
• Booklet or handout for your opponents
• Costumes or other shirts or clothing
• Banner or some other type of display
• Display base
• Army song, theme drinks or something else that shows the theme of your army. An example would be an Ork army which has dice with Ork heads in place of the sixes.
• Army appearance can relate to theme too. An example would be a chaos dedicated Imperial Guard army which has chaos symbols and chains hanging off all their tanks.

Some examples:
Show up playing orks and paint your face green and have a power claw on your arm.
Or playing Tau and you modeled all your army to be a all kroot army. Your riptide are a large kroot with guns, you leader is kroot in a battle suit.

There are no points awarded to the overall score.
