I am not debating the chapter house case... I am just stating that whatever was going on with GW in the IP case has nothing to do with carving up their own models for plastic kits.

You are just using this thread as a way to re-air your personal grievances with GW for no reason.

GW accusing CH of Ip infringement has nothing to do with GW cutting up models into "more pieces". There are dozens of other kits where Gw carved up their own metal designs into "more parts" when they moved to plastic. You seem to lack the understanding that "making a multipiece model" has nothing to do with IP and they are not boring an IP they sued over as modeling process has nothing to do with IP.

This is not a real issue, just making up fake issues as an excuse to re-hash old grievances which already have their own thread.

Maybe you should bring up other off-topic things like the Australian price differences or fine cast bubbles from 2 years ago? I mean it is about as relevant.

What's stopping you from casting a combi melta or a combi plasma in one piece? It's more efficient to do so n the sprue than instead creating 4 different attachments and one receiver. If GW was on abut providing the correct parts and their customers supplied and happy, they wouldn't have released a kit with the following glaring problems:
Studded shoulder pad is still going to be a high demand item, 3rd party bits will still get money from here...
4 options and one receiver... That is a recipe for disaster. Just give me two weeks to get my "compacted fully automatic grenadette launcher" onto the market.... This kit design did fewer favors for GW given the part scarcities. Conversion isn't going to be a big deal, sure, but the design of the parts makes the conversion a hassle. GW is relying to kill the sale of bits, but then releases a kit that's just going to fuel it. This is a half assed attempt at providing a kit for the sake of it being there to strengthen their legal claims, not because they actually want to deliver on customer demand...

And more bits isn't exactly a good thing. I like some of the options, but I still fail to grasp the presence of the pouches...I want more it's, sure, but I want more useful bits that do something. More often than not, the extra gear for the models is a nuisance to deal with, and in the end they just sit in a bin of unused trash, waiting to go on eBay for all of $0.12. Just because I have more it's to play with isn't a good thing. I want them to be immediately useful to me. Give me too many options, and the utility of the options is reduced. And bits for the sake of aesthetics..... There is a reason I despise the csm champion helmets. The helmets are fine, but all the other crap on the means I have to spend 10 minutes cleaning them first.....

15 successful trades as a buyer;
16 successful trades as a seller;

To glimpse the future, you must look to the past and understand it. Names may change, but human behavior repeats itself. Prophetic insight is nothing more than profound hindsight.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.
