I wouldn't call it a deal breaker; the logo is small enough to drop a bit of scenery on if it annoys you that much.

There's no reason for it to be on the top surface at all, regardless of whether or not I can cover it with scenery.

This is why we can't have nice things. People just accept things that shouldn't actually be acceptable.
"Cover it with a piece of scenery."
"Fill in the finecast bubbles with some liquid greenstuff."
"Gladly pay the same for a digital book as a real one because "convenience" somehow has as much value as the entire logistics chain that used to get dead-tree fibers out of the trees and into your hands."

It's not quite the same; there's no functional issue with a small logo being in the corner. It might break the immersion a bit though. I don't have to pay more, or do more work to get to an acceptable standard. But maybe it's just me with the table edges being covered in books, tokens and cans anyway.

Would I rather the logo was on the back? Sure. Is it a dealbreaker for me? Not at all. I didn't even realise it was there until pointed out.

Okay thanks, I just shot them an email to check if they are folded at all still... will update when I hear back.

The one I received was folded lengthways and then rolled, in a tube.

Was hanging it, like you said you tried, enough to get the crease out? Could you take a pic of that part of it?

Funny to see people say "just iron it!" and then that ironing would melt it . Whoops

If you want to iron it without melting it, then iron at a low to medium heat and place a towel or linen cloth over the mat and iron it that way. I have used this technique with other mats like Hotz mats and one from another manufacturer (whose name escapes me right now) and it works fine.

Good to know filbert, thanks

That doesn't seem to be a detriment to some folks, but it is to me... so if anyone has before and after pics of a mat that they were able to flatten out effectively, I'd really appreciate it.

Mine turned up today; folded rather than rolled, but at least that meant it fit through the letter box and I don't need to go and collect it!

The material is thinner than I was expecting, but it seems pretty durable and I'm suitably impressed. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do about storage and use; like cutting it into 2x2 sections as I'll never use the whole 4x6 at once, and maybe mounting it on some sort of board.

While I don't think its a "deal breaker" for me...I do have to admit, I don't like my terrain, which is designed to improve the aesthetics and immersion of my game - to have an advertisement on it.

Maybe a small watermark in the corner, so you could tell people "look for that thing in the corner, that's where I got it from". But not an obviously visible high contrast logo.

I have a space mat, but these are look much nicer....and I would consider to get one...but with that logo on there...it detracts just enough for me that I would get a competing product.

Again, if other people are fine with it...that is great, I am happy for them. Also, I don't think it "ruins it' or anything like that....but it is enough to detract from its overall value proposition for me.

Hi, nice to find this post here.

Our recent (or not so recent) news are that all mats are shipped rolled in long tubes. Now they are ready to go right out of the box without additional bending, adjusting or other attention.

We also introduced mats in sizes suitable for X-Wing game. Have in mind that we can do any mat in custom size.

And our latest release which is currently on -10% preorder that you might find interesting:

We really appreciate your feedback, so let us know your thoughts!

Thanks for joining up to post here and I am very glad to hear that you are now shipping in long tubes. One of your mats will be an instant buy for me if I start up a space combat game.

Isn't PVC a form of plastic? I'm not sure taking an iron to it is a good idea if so.

That said, I will definitely give these a look tonight. Some mighty nice looking mats.

Put a towel over the PVC. Put the iron on it's lowest setting. Take your time with it.

One of my main gripes about NOT playing enough games is my lack of interesting surface, and time to make one.

No excuses now!

Will you ship the 4'x6' mats to the US? I just bought into x-wing, and want that size, but others are unable to ship the big tubes supposedly.

I think a hair drier or hot air gun would be a better choice for working out any creases. I used a hair drier on my GW battle mat (nylon backer) before gluing it down to the board and it worked great

Hello, everyone. We have an exciting official announcement today:

Deep-Cut Studio and PWork Wargame joined forces to produce a new line of miniature games mats. PWork range of paper print-and-cut battleboards for miniature games will now be available as ready for action PVC mats, manufactured by Deep-Cut Studio. The mats come as 4’x6’ size (120x180cm) high quality prints on premium class PVC. We start with two exciting releases – city ruins and badlads, with more soon to come. The mats are available on PWork website as well as Deep-Cut Studio webshop.

And did I hear someone asking for a desert theme few posts above?

Anyone wants to vote for the next PWork range release?

Do the new ones have logos on too? The corners are cropped, so I can't tell. If they don't, I'll probably order a couple.

Do you do custom mats as I would love a 3x3 for Malifaux with fantasy style streets and roads etc...

Eggs: Yes there are logos in the corner of the mat. Two of them actually. A mat without logos - maybe as custom print? Drop us an email and we'll discuss the details.

overtyrant: Yes we do custom mats as well. Let's discuss details by email too.

Not to mention "cover it with scenery" doesn't really work as well with a space-themed mat.

Would that be because the corners are deceptively cropped in most of the photos?

Personally I don't like it at all. Mats like this are always so damn expensive and I feel like for the money you're being asked to drop on them a big ugly logo right on the surface is too much, and trying to convince people to just "deal with it" is poor form. Just get rid of the stupid logo...but no, apparently that counts as a "custom print" and likely costs quite a bit extra.

It reminds me of buying a car; every dealership feels the need to put this big ugly sticker on the surface and use the vehicle you just paid good money (or sold your soul) for as additional, unnecessary advertising. If people want to know where I got it from I'll tell them, get that gak off or I'll go somewhere else. Hell, imagine if miniatures were the same deal: instead of having "Games Workshop" printed on the bottom of the base or on a base tab, you have GW logos and copyright/trademark symbols sculpted into the model itself. Knowing people here they would argue that it's okay because you can just cut it off or cover it up, lol...

Which is why I don't own much in the way of gaming mats.

I have exactly one, a Gale Force Nine mat I bought from my local store for X-Wing, and I haven't bought any more because of the GF9 logo on the edge. If it were half the MSRP I could maybe live with it, but not for $40.

I went ahead and bought a 3x3 mat for X-Wing (maybe now I'll actually learn the game). I'm not planning to spend a lot of time in the corner, so I don't think the logo will bother me much.
