Cut that thing off. you don't want it. It's in the way.
Now in that flat surface you have created for yourself you can attach a joint or piece that looks like an arm attachment that you can stick your appendage to

this thing?

That's the one.

The progress famine is over!!
No new models this time but I did get my two Tactical Sgt's and one Marine about 80% painted.

This guy is a sheer badass. Seriously one of my favourite conversions not to mention the first game I played using him he punched a Hellbrute to death. Now he's got a suitably intimidating paint job to match!

This guy I made, what I would consider to be, my first successful OSL attempt. perhaps it could be a tad brighter?
Never the less, another favourite of mine atm

Not much to say on this guy, I did manage to write "Death" in tinie-tiny letters on his shoulder pad I will probably fix up the face eventually.

That's it for now, but expect at least another 7 Tac Marines on the way.

Peace

holy crap. Using the bionic half-face that way is pretty clever. Kudos!

I love it when I see people doing their LotD like this. Now figure out how to do a Razorback for them and you'll be a god.

Here are some better pictures. been learning the ropes with my new camera. hopefully I'll stumble upon the perfect settings like I kinda did my last camera.
Alas no painting progress as it's currently too hot to do anything... at all... It's amazing I'm still breathing right now and not a dry, scorched husk.

Once the temperature drops to a more comfortable level (and I don't just mean night time, 'cause they're bloody hot too ) I'll get right back into it all.
I'd love to hear some advice from you guys on how to improve my painting. Yeah, they look cool, and these are probably my best painted yet, but I still want to know any tips you guys might have especially if you notice them lacking a certain something. I'd like to hear what people think about my OSL attempt too.
One last thing, If anyone can help me figure out what the white spots are that appear on their armour in these shots. They don't seem visible to the naked eye so I am wondering if it could be an issue with my camera settings or my painting.
Any help at this stage would be much appreciated.

Peace

the only advice i can offer is that the red looks a little flat right now. I'd be tempted to add a little orange and one or two touches of yellow... Of course, the red color will be at the tip, not like GW who do fires backwards/upside down.

A lot of artists do fire backwards when its not meant to be "real" as it draws the eye more

Yeah I've been meaning to get onto that but for this damn HEAT be assured I'll be painting the flames on the rest of my marines in the red-orange-yellow layout.
Any other tips are welcome.

I'm tempted to say get the stuff that's used inside plush toys and add smoke/wisps rising off the models, but I'm concerned that could ruin them. Might work for the base...

considering the heat, if you painted fire on the model it would probably catch fire.
