The first 7th edition game I played a used the good ole Barge. My friend who plays Space Marines could NOT touch it. Also, my overlord got the warlord trait of Feel No Pain. If that happens, he's pretty much unkillable. Honestly, I loved the barge before 7th edition, but now I feel bad. I feel like I'm going to become "that guy" who plays the overpowered chariot.

I don't think that's intended, and I started a Thread in YMDC for it http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/597565.page#6879235

But as of Right now, it seems to be legal.

Taking multiple Detachments is not Unbound, it's a Normal Battleforged list.

The chariot has its own saves (Now the 4+ Jink….on a 13/13/11 fast skimmer. Good god). I already tried to see if I could give the chariot It Will Not Die from a warlord trait, but they don't share stuff like that.

Not sure about Warlord traits not shared, given that the rules say that the chariot is always (!) treated as one model.

Actually, you're right. I just tried to tell someone that a Phase Shifter doesn't work on the barge, just the dude. But then, reading over the rule again, my god. They are one model. Holy Crap, It Will Not Die!!

My experiences: From his mighty pimp chair did Kutlakh the Worldkiller verily make the Swarmlord his bitch.

Yeah, Kutlakh might be the game's best MC killer.

I'm in the process of modeling a Necron Overlord sitting in an evil slouch with a black hyperphase sword hanging lazily from his hand. Gonna see if I can make another Dawn of War style Necron helmet, it seems more Kutlakhish than the usual Headdress.

There was pretty much nothing in the opposing Tyranid army capable of inconveniencing Kutlakh save for crushing claw units and bio-titans (fed a healthy diet of Pylon fire to shut them up). By turn 9 he had killed a pair of trygons, an entire Lash whip and BS tyrant guard unit, the Swarmlord, a warrior brood with a Prime, and the Deathleaper.

'Twas a bloody harvest.

Although I'm honestly wondering how the hell Kutlakh killed a contemptor dread in his fluff.

Now technically illegal. New FAQs limit CCB to a Necron Overlord....no named characters can use it anymore.

Nothing in that FAQ says Kutlakh can't ride it. Just the other schmucks who aren't Kutlakh.

That's what I've been lead to believe anyway.

Nope, sorry about it, I have no idea why, but FAQs limit it to "Rider: Necron Overlord".

Not true actually while the necrons can only have a Necron Overlord as the rider, there is no such restriction in place for the dark harvest army. At least until Forgeworld releases its FAQ

Everything I say, barring quotes and researched information, is my personal opinion. Not fact.

OK, conceded. Yeah, I suppose if they don't FAQ it to match the Necron FAQ, then its technically still legal.

I wouldn't make a conversion on something hoping that an upcoming FAQ doesn't ruin it in about 1 week.

It is most certain that this will get FAQ'ed out and sadly, this will make him a lot less viable.

At the same time, I so hope for FW to fix Gauss Sentry Pylons. I hope so hard. feth world peace, I want my pylons back D:

So basically...FAQ now!

...though every now and then FW does something awesome, like FAQ that he CAN take the chariot option (I give you Loth as an example).

The forgeworld Dark Harvest FAQ will clarify that a Dark Harvest CCB is not to be called a CCB, but Kutlakh's pimp throne.

Sempiternal Weave is also worded similarly, is there something that keeps vehicles from having armour saves? Or do we now have 2+/3++ CCBs?

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Doesn't make sense fluff-wise, but I don't see how its any different than the Phase Shifter.

Oh dear C'Tans, we need another FAQ D:

I think that would be a hard one to pull off. But if it is against somebody who is unlikely to allow the 3++, propose it then compromise with the 3++ ;-).

With the special rule: Badass, enemies must roll their fear tests against Kutlakh at a -3 penalty as they realize that they will never be as Cool as Kutlakh so long as he is on Kutlakh's pimp throne. Because he's awesome like that.

Oh, to be clear, I would never play it like it had the 3++. It certainly isn't RAI and it's debatable whether it's RAW (check the other thread). Having a free 4++ seems good enough to me. Not to mention you can just redirect hits to the 3++ anyway.

I think I'm feeling the same way. I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face telling my opponent that the fancy armor I bought for my Overlord magically coats an entire vehicle.

There is really only a single person debating, that it's not RAW, it's pretty much the most consensus you can get in a YMDC thread, that is raw.

I doubt this will be addressed anytime soon, so I'd enjoy it while it's around.

As for Kutlakh, I would love riding him around on the CCB. I do fear that will be faqed away by FW.

@Sigvatr At least this is not as bad as the ghost ark exploit, which I believe is still do able with the new FAQ's.

Hitting chariots on front instead of rear armor was the best change, it makes them playable now.

And since Necrons are just tomb kings in space, it makes perfect sense for them to have powerful chariots.
