I actually used a paper clip for the antenna on my command vox operator. Worked rather well as it is slightly thinner than the GW Cadian ones but sufficiently thick so as not to bend (repeated bending what probably result in a snap).

I am thinking a needle and just cutting it down and drilling it into the vox caster as I would probably break the paper clips too easy. I assume GW primer works well on steel?

As far as I know it works OK. Might want to take some fine grit sand paper to key the surface of the needle first and give the paint something to adhere to.

Small update. Started working on my wyvern today and got the base coat and camo done on it. Next up all the metal bits and details.

looking good so far. Can't wait to see it finished.

Possibly, for the moment no as I dont want to spend the money for just two models or so. But who knows maybe sometime in the future

Just finished my wyvern and onto the first of two chimeras tomorrow. Also should I leave the grates on the actual firing platform alone or rust it up like the secondary one.

That's a good looking tank. I vote for rusting the firing platform up like the secondary one.

Thanks man I was afraid it would take a while to paint but I was able to finish up all details and metal bits in one day.

So I decided to rust up the firing platform and I must say it does look a hundred times better.

Nice work Ustrello! As for the crew for the Wyvern, if you are planning on getting any Basilisks or field guns it may be worth buying the Heavy Artillery Crew set.

Nice Chimera, very well weathered!

The rust looks great on the Wyvern. Matches the whole Death Korps fighting in the muck thing. One thing, if I may. The brass piping on the Wyvern is kinda bright. Would a wash be appropriate? Kinda dull it a little? Chimera looks great.

I tried washing a small section on a leman russ once after I put the camo on and didnt like the effect too much

Thanks, though the only thing weathered is the heavy bolter sheath, the tracks, and the comms system...actually that is a decent amount haha

That is what I was hoping to convey actually. But you are right I did hit it with Riekland fleshshade, I know it sounds weird but tim lison when he was running the bunker said to use that on coppers and frankly it works very well.

Definitely an awesome paint scheme on the titans and the tank.

Thanks man. The scheme was actually a mistake at first but I realized it looked a lot better than what I had in mind


Also I finally put together my quartermaster counts as commissar that I got at gen con this year

Ooooh, I have the same figure sat on my desk at the moment! He will either be a Tempestor Prime in a normal Astra Militarum list (thanks for the crappy copy-writing names GeeDub!) or the QM in either of the DK lists. Have you seen the Assault Brigade list by the way?

Just on 1d4chan, I remember seeing the actual pdf from forgeworld once but it seems like it isnt up anymore

A friend of mine emailed FW about the validity of bothe the Siege and Assault lists and the reply was that while they are working on FAQs they are still valid.

Small update

First up I fixed my first knight. Filled in some holes with more stirland, and changed the english to nordic runes. Also rusted up the barbed wire some more



Secondly I have my WIP shot of my quartermaster/commissar

Finished my Lord/Commissar. Sorry for the hand but the camera just wasn't showing any brightness even with two natural light lamps above it.

Cool! Very nice work on the commissar and I love those skeletons coming out of the knight's base. Almost makes me wish I still played 40k.

Looking good Ustrello. One thing I forgot about for antennae on vox units- florists wire. I used it on the radio on my first tank and my first vox trooper.

Yeah I wanted to go with that after reading "With the Old Breed". But 40k isn't for everyone and boltaction/flames of war is still super cool
