Regarding Warkoptas:

In my experience, they about even out vs trukks, though with a slightly tweaked role. Now with 7th Detachment/Unbound shenanigans, the FOC squadron element isn't as relevant as it used to be.

Pros: jink, extra 6" flat-out, better gun options (IMO -- Rokkits vs Skorcha is a whole tangential debate in itself)

Cons: Higher points, no Mega-Armor, not available as Dedicated Transports, only 10 model capacity, less HPs than a trukk

To me, the con that gets more relevant every time I field them is the transport capacity. I like to use them to deliver 'ardboyz with sluggas; PK nob, no special weapon. But then they can't have ICs attached. Not even the little slotless Mek. Not a big deal, but makes me a little sad during the listbuilding stage.

It's also fun using the third one to tote burnaboyz around. Upgrade the shoota to Skorcha and turn 2 you are possibly flaming 2 different backfield units. Note that I personally have never been able to make this happen in practice. The flyin bawkses are just too fragile. But in some cases, the threat of six or more burninatin templates in a gunline's face is a great distraction.

Thanks for the information I am trying to build a list that avoids trukks, as they arent very good. For their points they are probably fine, but for the moment I would rather not spend money and points on relatively useless units. Maybe if I do a ork horde list at some point I may want them for all the boyz, but right now I prefer the more Mek list.

Looking into Meka- and mega- dreads at the moment, as I have an idea about converting my old dreadknight into a looted ork walker haha. Think its too big for a deff-dread, and wouldnt be suitable anyway a deffs arent shooty.

Any opinions on the meka- or mega-dread?

Thanks for the help, its been a great crash course in obscure orkiness lol

On top of what I just said, I'm also wondering... just how good are weirdboys? They seem to be very cheap and have limited upgrade options... being basically none at all. And yet they take up valuable HQ slots.

Random..... but the puke is awesome, I killed abbadon with it! haha

I try to run at least 1 every game because i think their powers are funny.

the SAG is awesome, I have even run with 3 in a game (1 bike and 2 foot), but i NEVER kill the enemy! eitehr myself or i end up teleporting my guy into CC with a knight ... haha

I've been tempted to run junkas with sag turrets. Means if i get the teleport option, i run them over.

Expensive on points tho.
