I'm from the future. The future of space

Both products of Allesio's brain from the same time period. Bolt Action and WP2.0 went through development and publication at very close to the same time.

You'll have to come up with or ignore some stats like nerve values. And if you take a close combat Warpath squad and use it in BA, the pinning markers will ruin your day, so the whole points system likely won't work, but at their core, both systems have:

Roll to hit. Roll to kill. A penetration system for vehicles. And they tend to require, very, very similar sorts of numbers.

If you took the fan made army lists for 40k, you could use them for either WP2.0 or Bolt Action and get a satisfying game. It's basically a question of which turn structure mechanic you like better. I like them both.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

One Page Rules do a very straight forward and fun version of 40k.

Those are some cool little rules sets.
