It helps to know what army you're playing.

anyway the person who brings an IK to 600 is a first class TFG.

Its a Tournament meaning he is not TFG but bringing a tournament list.

I think a couple LR tanks would be helpful. Prask in a punisher with a tri-plas exicutioner maybe? Throw in 2 units of vets with demolitons and a meltagun each. Just spitballing here but that should be around 600.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

Swap out your tactical squad for another scout squad with sniper rifles and an ML and, as others have mentioned, put one on eigther side of the board - make him choose which unit his shield counts against!
While he's tied up thinking about that; bring the flyer in from behind against his rear AV11 - that will really bother him because i would start having concerns at that point.

Primary concern as a marine is the S8 AP3 battle cannon - it's not barrage so make sure your scouts and marines get a good cover save.
Perhaps you could drop pod the heavy bolters behind enemy lines for an easy linebreaker VP?

I'm not 100% on marine points costs, but i hope that helps!

Did you look at my list????
If so, nice research!

Knights have issues with Flyrants. 2 Flyrants in 600 pts is tough to take down. I'd run something like this if you want to be mean.

Flyrant _devourersx2, Egrubs

Superheavies at the 600 pt level. Sounds crazy.
Gone are the days we fought battles where tactics and skill played a major role.
Now you can hide behind your instructible super heavy.
Makes no sense.
GW sells models and units to collectors and painters, but not to gamers.

Thanks for the advice! I was warned by the leader of our WH club, after some advice from the local GW as we had qualified there, I do have a full squad of scouts and bikes but no meltas on the bikes. I think my list which is available here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/635890.page can deal with them, the devastators have been changed to 2 HBs, 1 ML and a plasma cannon, just for template spam!

Looking at what you have, you are going to be in relative trouble. as well with no REAL anti tank its gona be hard.

Focus on killing whatever is not the imperial knight and bait it into a corner or hide in a building if you can. then go for objectives.

take as many bikes as you can and skirt the crap out of it and perhaps send the Talon to do what it can against it.

Go to ground as often as needed

You aren't winning the tourny with that list anyways. So I wouldn't be too concerned. Just go play - have fun - maybe you won't even play against the knight. You can still get lucky though. Theres a lot of other stuff thats even more impossible to kill than an IK that you can take at 600 points too. Like a dreadknight, riptide, flying daemon prince, flying hive tyrant.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Those things can be killed with what he has. and has a better chance than against a knight

since the knight literally invalidates 90% of his regular weapons. but yeah regardless of that Dont worry that much and have fun.

The list was changed as to the devastators, Might take a landspeeder with MM instead of something.

The speeder may help. Bring dual mm for another shot for very cheap. I see two solutions to the knight problem. Either focus on it with your strong elements. If that is the plan keep him in the open so you can hit it from several sides. Otherwise lure him into the corner away from anything important and ignore him as much as possible.
