I have added on to the Orky railroad. We now have a tender for fuel and water and a flatcar carrying a secret but unhappy weapon.

Brilliant work. The Troll car is genius and the combo tank and tender/hopper is just the kind of odd combination car that Orks would make.

Thanks guys. Any ideas for another car down the road? I am open to suggestions for a new addition.

Gorgeous terrain and amazing trains!

For other cars, how about a coal hopper but filled with skulls! And some grots sorting through them.

Given that you've got a Squig Oil car (I presume that's not promethium), why not a 'cattle car' containing a mess of angry squigs?

Haha, Cranky the crane from Thomas the Tank Engine creeping into shot further up there!

Great work though. The terrain is fantastic, and Orks always make such fun dioramas.

Other wise flat cars with tanks or a wrecking ball crane.
Stolen imperial stuff. (titan weapons? IG Missile rack?)

The O Gauge works for 40K? Wow, my armored train interest is reborn! Great work - I especially like the gretchen squabbling among the shells and shell casings.

O Gauge works well for 28mm. The scales are pretty close to begin with ( 1/48 and 1/56) and the trains made for smaller curve track (usually referred to as O-27 compatible) are shortened in a way that fits much better on the tabletop.

Two very useful links.
Very affordable O-gauge stuff at Menards:

A second wartrain is pictured in the Votom's Campaign pages...

Which also happens to be the best Campaign log I've ever read. It's not always easy to navigate, but Necronundicon is packed with great terrain and miniature goodness.

I have found train shows a really inexpensive place to get terrain and other moddling stuff. Especially partial engines trucks and bodies for locomotives..broken buildings etc (usually for pennies on the dollar compared to new) and weathering materials, paints etc for extreamly inexpensive compared to the gaming companies much of it the same manufactures at similar quality levels.

My next trainboard project has been dictated ..oscale hogsmead station ..Wife said so ..for her trains..(Cant complain thou so far the layout has been fun to set up Next step will be building the bench work)

Just outstanding work btw ..for both sets of boards

Sweet! That's great work.

I was twelve when I made the transition from model trains to wargames, and in the interim period I seriously contemplated something like this.

Good Reminder. I've got to get myself to the DuPage Train show. I haven't been there since I was a kid in the 90's, but now I've got kids and I'm sure they'd love it.

And of course the cheap junk train parts, though I don't really need more since I've got two sci-fi'ish trains waiting for final assembly and painting.

Thank you all for your interest! I am thinking along the lines of boyz and bikes with a launching ramp of some kind but it will have to simmer a bit while I take care of some other stuff.

absolutely fantastic work on the railway board, I've thought about something similar before but never really considered doing it, seeing this is pretty inspirational!
