Did this start backsliding or something during Salute?

On 4/26/15 it started to - what happened on 4/26/15?

Salute? They had a normal update the day before and then BAM! cancelled. The kickstarter cynic in me thinks that they set their goals artificially low in the hopes of blasting through them quick for momentum and realized that despite almost 300% "funding" supposedly it wouldn't be profitable. It feels like a colossal waste of pledger time as some sort of market research experiment they should have done first. Nothing they listed from a quick glance couldn't be done later as a post release expansion or even stretch goal. Eh, it looked cool and I was passively following this (the vampire models loom cool) but this sudden move puts the company firmly in the "only at retail in hand" category personally.

It didn't backslide by a lot.

I think a couple things happened, one they realized that it didn't get as big as they thought it was going too. It looked like it was built from a zombiecide style structure but the miniatures and game weren't quite at that polished level yet. They either didn't get what they ultimately were planning on getting or it was close. They also wanted the improve a bit on the mini's and gameplay... I'm not sure they had it as fine tuned.

Maybe they started to figure this out as they looked at flow, while filming actual play through videos that were requested. My worry was the gameplay repetition after awhile.

Hmm interesting choice, but probably the right one if the writer isn't happy with the rules as they currently stand. I'll be interested to see this one when they do decide to relaunch it

I also wonder if they've found cost promised by whoever they were planning to use as a production partner have gone up,

I'm guessing Orlando and warboss have the right of it...

I initially pledged, but eventually dropped as something just felt...off here.

I think it was mostly that I just don't think they can deliver miniatures that match the quality of the painted resin masters they were showing.
