How many initial paints are going to be released? I count 74 on that chart (I think).

If you intend on selling it all directly, then no big deal, but if you want to reach a bigger audience and sell more than a few hundred bottles a year you will need distribution. Consider then that you will have to sell to a distributor for .375 cents per bottle if your desired retail pricepoint is 1.50 (usually the cost doubles at each step, so you would sell at .375, the distributor would sell at .75, the retailer at 1.50)
Do you mean 37.5¢ per bottle?
.375¢ per bottle would need to be doubled around nine times to get to approx. $1.50 a bottle.
But... Sorry to be nit-picky... I know what you meant.
I look forward to trying these out.

Very interesting.
I do have to say however, that as a person who has used a lot of paints - considering the time and money spent on the models in these hobbies - the difference between a $1.5 and $3 bottle of paint is not as significant as the quality, at least to me personally.
Of the benefits you listed, honestly, I think the best is the "does not separate".
As a business guy - sounds like you might be too cheap, but only time will tell - and maybe the lower price will help with selling sets.
I can say this - if you can make good metallics with nice shine - then THAT is a good value proposition.
I applaud your entrepreneurial spirit, and wish you the best of luck in this endeavor!

somewhere around that number. not 100% sure if all of them will be there and not any others added also.

I was saying free shipping for around 10 GB Pounds which is around 15 US dollars.
In any case, I believe this is achievable (or with a small shipping fee 1-2 dollars).
I am not doing this to become rich. I just like what I do and I want to share it with the world.

Thank you for your comments.
It is not only about offering a great price. It is also about offering another option.
A paint made by someone who listens to the modeler's needs and does not dictate to them what to use.
We have committed to recreate oop colors for example and we are always here to listen to your feedback.
Another really good point about the paint is the fact that it is SMOOTH (related to the not separating feature). No more lumpy paints... ever.

Let me throw you some advice.
One of the reasons why paints cost around the $3-6 dollar range is because once you go high scale there is A LOT of expensive equipment involved... trust me I know I have sold it.
We are talking about 100's of thousands of dollars for the machines.. not to mentioned operators.. and engineers on staff for when something breaks down.
I see the bottles you have is the dripper bottle. If that dripper cap doesn't come off you need a machine that has a syringe to fill it.. if you are doing it manually.. its pretty painstaking but no big deal... Once you go automatic.... you will see why the price is so high!
Another piece of advice I can give you is if you buy equipment... don't go to big to fast or you will spend a lot of money fast, and if your paint business doesn't work out your screwed... used equipment is worth pennies on the dollar and you will blow most of your investment. Find a place that rents equipment to test the waters once you get to that level.
Good luck hopefully everything works out for you!
Yes, but I doubt the OP is going into the paint manufacturing business. My guess is that he/she is using industry contacts to order from an established manufacturer. I applaud the effort.

I'm extremely interested in these please let me know but if I may a few questions.
If you're making metalics how will you solve the separation issues that happen?
Will the bottles contain an Agitator?
Are you looking at giving the paints unique names or will you stick with more traditional ?
Are you looking to have a comparison chart to other makes?
Are you looking at glazes and washes?

Well this is looking interesting. Cant wait to see more reviews and fully finished models to take a gander at. #1 thing i look for with paint is stability. i want to make sure if i paint an army over time, the formula wont change or the company goes out of business. edit: FETH GW Paint change from UK>CN>CN2 :/ Hopefully wont have to deal with that.. Depending on availability and shipping i might be in on some of these when they come out. Would also love to indulge in big bottles. like 60ml or more squeeze bottles and stuff. dont have to order soo often and easier to keep track of

Metalics WILL separate (actual metal trimmings are heavier and it is really hard to suspend them in paint) and therefore an agitator will be inside the bottle.
Names are probably going to be the color followed by a number (e.g. red 1, red 2, red 3...)
Comparison chart will also be there
Both glazes and washes are under formulation at the moment.

One other question. How is the adhesion of the paints? Is a primer still going to be required, or can they be used directly on plastic, metal, or resin?
ETA: I have the sample card made for the OOP Armoury paint. Base is white and black artist's gesso, with the colour in several layers on top to get a clear idea of the translucency and other effects. I'll try and get it mailed out early next week.

Primer isn't actually required for most acrylic hobby paints. The ability to stick to different surfaces is one of the primary attributes of acrylic paint.

My experience is that it's still needed, as paints have a tendency to flake or rub off if applied directly. I've heard Vallejo paints are good this way; but don't have enough experience with them to confirm that.

I have 40K models that I've been using for more than 20 years now, that were basecoated with Chaos Black straight out of the pot (no primer) that have had no problems with paint flaking or rubbing off.
Having paint rub off on raised edges is more of a potential problem on metal models than plastic, and primer can certainly help with that... but being useful for making the paint a little more durable isn't quite the same as bring 'needed'.

Considering my other thread(s) detailing my own travails with miniature paints at the moment, this announcement comes at an opportune moment.
I am trying to decide on a new line of paints to replace my aging Vallejo paints.
And I might give these a try if they show up before I finally run our of my primary Vallejo colors.
I am trying to decide between sticking with buying miniature paints, or simply returning to mixing my own paints with artists' mediums (where I can get pigments, medium, extenders, retarders, flow-aids, thinners, and so on... To mix my own paints to taste probably more cheaply than any miniature paints).
At least in terms of raw costs. The time involved will be something to consider,
But if a new line of paints fits my needs, that would be much more comvenient than mixing my own.

adhesion is quite good. I have been using black paint for an undercoat rather than a primer and the results are good. on the other hand though, i do not handle my minis once painted. i only display them.
maybe using a primer is better when you intend to handle the minis for gaming?
can't wait to receive the sample card.

Overall we are very happy with the feedback we have received from all the guys that took part in the beta testing.
the majority of the comments were posted over at CMON website:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?59695-A-New-Line-Of-Miniature-Paints-Is-Being-Born
The overall verdict is that the paints meet the expectations of the buyer and they perform really well (more than 90% satisfaction).
We are currently making some slight changes to the formula to achieve even better results and working on all the colors.
We hope to be able to launch all the colours before the end of May 2015.
One major change though will be the name: They will NOT be called Poison Warpaints..

Best of luck with the venture, will be looking into getting some. The name change sounds like a good idea.
I would be interested to see how they compare with the Scale 75 range especially the strength of the pigments and drying times.
Have you considered sending some samples to Figure Painter Magazine for review or to get some advertisement as they have a broad reader range and are independent as far as I am aware.

antidote LOL...
we will be revealing the name with the launching. it is not highly innovative but at least we found the .com domain of it.
so the website for the 'nameofpaints' will be www.nameofpaints.com (no the paints are not called 'nameofpaints')
shipping: all orders will be shipped via standard airmail from Cyprus to any part of the world.
order processing time will be < 24 hrs
delivery times will be 5-15 working days, depending on your location.
P&P fee will be flat and cheap. Free shipping for bigger orders. Expedited shipping also available at extra cost.

I do not have any feedback regarding comparison with Scale75 yet. In general though our drying times are longer than anything out there.

army painter inks also blow gw washes out of the water.

Question: you say "childproof" screw bottle by which I assume it will be something like a "press down then screw" system.
The trouble is, with all dropper bottle paint I've used there's some inevitable buildup of paint inside the cap, on the dropper, around the rim, that no amount of cleaning can remove. Have you ensured that this buildup will not affect the operation of your dropper bottles?

There is only one thing that concerns me and that is the testing used to have the approved for use. The only reason why I mention this, is that there was a guy on here a few years ago that had some nice washes. He was shut down because he could not afford specific testing on his washes. I don't remember what the testing was actually for but he had to ship samples of his washes to a specific company and they charged great deal amount of money to get his product tested. I will see if I can find some information on it so I can be more specific.
