Well, since we're swapping minis rather than me sending yours back I'll happily add in a couple of Boyz if you want to send me some in return. The Nob is actually almost done (what can I say, I am too eager...) so it's no hassle to paint up an entourage for him in the same style!

Let me know how many you want done!

Between the Dakka (unofficial) Monthly Painting Challenge, the The I paint your model thread and this, I should be good to go motivation wise for sure.

Sure man, welcome aboard - PM me your details. Please don't mention the painting challenge, this digital camo is ruining my life...

hungryp wrote:Less than getting them commission painted?

Hit me with a PM if you don't mind sending some out to Canada. I'd be willing to do a Nob and a few boyz if it helps you get the whole lot done.

Heh, I know you're taking the piss, but it is something that hadn't escaped my mind. That said, I would be surprised if I got change from $300 at the end of this, excluding models. The real thing is that I don't play the game, so having someone else paint my plastic is the bigger cost to me - anyone should consider themselves HIGHLY PRIVILEGED to be handed one of my mandollies

Realistically though, if this all works out I think this could be one of the most amazingly unique sets that would simply be irreplaceable - if any of you are ever in Sydney and want to play a game with the set, I will happily let you do that - it is ours as far as I am concerned.

Happy to ship to Canada mate, thank you for the offer - PM me your details and I will get it shipped out on monday

Thanks Paradigm, I will let you know - at this stage maybe two boyz? Will see what happens on Monday (my time) when I ship

Well, here he is! Gorgutz DA Slica, armed with a 'Squig's Foot' shoota and a Kustom 'Kut-more' (as opposed to a Kutless, geddit? )

Still a finishing touch or two to go, but this is basically what he'll look like, unless there's anything you want changed/emphasised/toned down/added.

And since I forgot to mention it before, I definitely think you deserve a huge amount of thanks for organising this! It looks like it'll be a wonderful community project when it's done, and I hope you feel the result is worth it!

That is absolutely everything I'd hoped for and more dude, brilliant work.

What I want is rather irrelevant - I was expecting most folk to be working in the dark from each other so the end result is utterly random. Touches, changes, etc aren't mine to make - they're yours - if you think that your Gorgutz is an accurate representation of the Dakka Dakka Klan, then he is

Edit: If you can't paint to Paradigm's standard, don't be disheartened - I want your orky creation just as much!

Actually - this is gonna be seriously wicked when all is said and painted. It'll make for one awesome 'team' photo. Everyone make sure to sign your fig on the underside!
Been looking at some photos of the AoBR warboss and looking forward to laying some paint done on that fether! (that's the right one KB - yeah?) Mind if I do a little 'kustomizing' KB? lol

Yeah, I am really keen on seeing how it all comes together - was going to name them after whoever painted them

http://www.plasticmodels.eu/en/w40k_aobr_orks.php

That is the dude, doesn't seem to fit together but I am sure you'll figure it out.

Also, customisation is the same as colour and whatever else - completely up to you guys with whatever you think will work with the Dakka Dakka Klan

I'm in Australia, am posting worldwide. Pm me your details - I'm not really able to respond to pms but will ship it all out tomorrow at work.

Thanks for all the pms folks, ideally I'd like no one to do two models to really ensure the randomness of it all, but whatever works!

No way, they're mine.

Looks like we are pretty much done - I have 8 Boyz unaccounted for, waiting on 2 dudes to send me their addresses and then assuming I don't get any more requests, I will add the remaining to people who offered to do more than one model

Going to the post office in ~6 hours, will let you all know.

OH, and a small caveat - I was looking after 3 sick women all weekend, so none of the mold lines have been cleaned or barrels drilled - my apologies

First shipping quote $600

Might need to find a better way of achieving this

Yikes that seems a bit pricey!

Perhaps you could send out a bulk lot to a kind of 'hub' member in each country, rather then as individual packets, who could then send them on?

The 'hub' member would then have to pay domestic shipping rates which tend to be cheaper, and perhaps anyone that is painting could pay return shipping back to you KB?

It would mean everyone participating would have to pay out a bit, but I think that the project would be worth it in the end.

Yeah, that is what I was considering, but it does complicate matters a bit.

I would more than happily cover local postage costs for anyone doing that, but that doesn't account for the time it would take messing around with packages and post office stuff. Additionally, it'd mean giving out that person's address, and all the other people's addresses to that person.

The list is;
UK - 11
US - 3
Canada - 2
AU - 1
Other - 1

Any volunteers to on-ship?

Would like 1 person in the UK, and 1 in Canada/US (whichever is cheaper to ship to the other from)

I will provide you with sticky labels for packaging with recipient addresses on, and return labels to you to make it as painless as possible - but you will presumably need to spend 2 hours in the post office messing around with boxes and tape and whatever else. Additionally, you will be the receiving point for them all to come back to me.

I will cover whatever shipping costs you need to pay, can even include shipping packages. I always intended on paying for people's return shipping too - you can feel free to pay for it yourself if you feel so inclined, but what I really want from you is paint stuck to the models - and I am happy for you to not be out of pocket for doing that.

Sure, we are all part of what looks like an awesome project, but while we all gain something, I probably gain the most by holding the finished set - only makes sense that I carry the costs in achieving that.

Sorry guys, I could have researched this better - I just had no idea that a tiny 20g piece of plastic would cost $1/gram to ship!

If you could get a pack of these tiny pop together boxes, and folks send the orks back and forth unbased, it could work out pretty well.
They go through letterboxes, they don't crush, and a lot of mini companies use them.
