Is it recorded anywhere how big Ghazghkull is? Just wondering as surely he is the most successful modern boss

As large as a Dreadnought. He's got a model after all.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

The series is absolutely awesome. It's the political games and insights into the inner workings on terra that have me hooked. Super series so far, book one would be the poorest one by a good bit which is unfortunate.

Have the Sisters of Silence turned up yet?

I heard they were in it and wondered how they were portrayed etc as they and what happened to them is quite an elusive subject in 40k.

That's the beauty of this series. As long as the Sisters of Silence are gone by about m33, these authors can make up almost anything.

And that applies to basically all facets of the background. We have so little information about what went on in this era that they effectively have a blank slate to work with as long as it keeps the over-arching setting in mind. It barely even has to get big details right.
