Very inspiring! I painted about 70% of the Civil War battle in a box and now I'm tempted to pull it back out and finish it up

Thanks Judge. It has been a loooong project. Looking at some these guys armies on here, youd think that they had an army just to paint them!
Today... officially, I am done with the painting!!!!!! Just need to base them, then I will do a battle report.

Well.... I took another plunge. I bought an additional Perry Set. Also bought 6 generals and 8 Limbers. I will have 350 ish ACW minis.
I will be posting battle reports and how to play at some point... if I make any friends - an introvert with 170 miniatures to paint in an obscure game.... 
There goes my Winter...

Well, before I get started painting a whole second box of these boys, I decided I needed to make a box to store them in. Ive been assembling Early Imperial Romans and this.... I am going to use some actual dropped Minie balls for the handles and latch. Reportedly found near Vera, VA.

I hope it goes faster this time! Starting on the Union again. I think keeping them organized and put away will help tremendously. I need to go back and repaint the canteen straps on both sides. Will leave some black but the USA cylinder style need white straps.... i think.

I feel like I'm moving pretty quick. Ive worked 144 hrs at my job since Jan1, and nearly finished these lil guys. Soooo close.

Finished with foot Commanders and infantry. Except flags and basing. Ugh. Not bad though. Over 150 infantry painted and assembled in 32 days with 4 days off for the LVO. The final shots are Zoauves. Didn't even know of their existence until this proj. The left ones are typical of the "Louisiana Tigers" uniforms. Thanks for looking G.

You underestimate the power of the Dark Side. Finished the first phase of the confederates last night. Started at 5pm. Finished at 9pm. Not too bad. Union next.
My plan:
Phase 1:
- Classic PVA + Water, brushed on. Sprinkle fine sand. Wipe edges with finger. Allow to dry.
Phase 2:
- Brush on Polyurethane to lock the sand in. I use Minwax Polyshade Royal Walnut.
Phase 3:
- PVA + Water + Flock or Static Grass
Phase 4:
- Super glue + Grass Clumps / Flower Clumps
