Given the fact that there is a certain amount of vagueness in the lore of Mantica, gives you free reign to create whatever you want. Do you want Dwarf Holds to be huge, imposing, nigh-impenetrable fortresses, or do you think of them more as scattered forts. garrisoned with a small army just for protection, and there are only a few major dwarf cities hidden deep beneath the surface? Your call.

We more or less already know that both exists.
There is both a great dwarvf empire that is led by a powerful and expansionist High King, but at the same time there are many dwarven holds/communities that don't recognize his authority, some of them because they disagree and separated from the Empire (giving potential for civil war like dwarf on dwarf battles), while others are simply far independants communities.
To say nothing of the dwarven populations mixed with other races, as Primovantor had a notable population back in the time and they left many descendants that won't have anything to do with the High King.

Honestly, the current vagueness leads me to believe that a 'hold' could cover well-established fortress-cities, younger fort-town settlements, and everything in between; in a "all cities are holds, but not all holds are cities" type way. It serves my purposes best this way, anyway.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

Incorporating Wet-Blending

I'll be posting a painting blog with links to tutorial for a KoW Orc Starter Set, with the Army Painter KoW Greenskins paint set.
Tutorials are for new painters, so I'm starting with the simpler stuff, namely the chariots. A bit boring, but easy to paint.
Of course, you can always put your old HeroQuest or other miniatures on the chariots and make the goblins pull them, until the boars are ready.
