32mm. And, yeah, neat looking stuff! I'll be watching for the Kickstarter (if it happens!). Those look great for a pulpy alt-WWII game like Konflikt '47.

I'm just worried tha resin will push the cost too high when there're HIPS options out there.

My preference is 30. 32 works for the more action-y poses, but will look mahoosive next to other ww2 figures when stood upright. 34 is just too big imo

I'd agree, but all of the poses in the OP are stooped. I think they'll look big next to other WW2 figures anyway due to the heroic proportions.

32 is a nice size. Its the size of ba figures and the like which has meant iv never really been interested in them. I really like the idea of a chunkier style figure....guess iv just been spoilt by gw heroic stylings.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Well you seem to be measuring to the top of the helmet, so I'd say 32mm is the best.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

32mm would be my vote as well. Some damn cool looking figures.

Long overdue update! Progress is slow unfortunately but some 3d test prints have been done. Overall I'm pretty happy with how they turned out but I'm hoping the quality can be pushed even higher for a final product.

The 3D prints look good

Which size did you decide on in the end?

Also what bases are they on?

Very chunky which normally I'd be against but they have a very retro "dollar store army men" type vibe that looks surprisingly good. I'd almost be tempted to just spray em green and call it a day. I also really like the poses of the models, they're nice and feel dynamic without being anything odd like balanced on one leg or really out there poses. Just dynamic enough to look good yet not too crazy where you'd have 3 guys all standing on one leg chucking a grenade or something.

My one complaint is that the M1 garands look a little too short and stubby in a couple of the renders. They seem to be fixed in that latest pic with the test shot but just figured I'd go ahead and mention it.

Price and variety will be critical for these. If there's not enough variety for a 10 man squad to all look different it might be a tough sell. Also have you given thought about support weapons? Bazookas, Flamethrowers, snipers, and machine gun teams all play a big part in any platoon scale game these would see action with, and will need to exist as these guys won't really blend well with other manufacturers from the look of it.

As for what kind of resin I liked best, that's a tough one, I've not been fond of most company's resin models aside from Firehawk games, which makes the absolutely beautiful Dropzone commander models in the 10mm scale. They're absolutely tiny, yet incredibly crisp and detailed, especially considering how strong the resin is. Doubt he would be willing to take on another company's models but someone may be able to tell you what kind of resin he uses.

I wish I still had some old Warlord figures so that I could do scale shots for you, all I have now are their newer releases which are a bit slimmer but much better proportioned. Warlord seriously upped their game plastic wise and the new kits look like they're not even from the same company for the most part.

These looks really really good, I like that they have their own look without going overboard.

Gamingdog - Think they're a little small? I went with 32mm (standing height). When I first held them I thought they could maybe be 1mm taller but I'm not sure anymore.

They're on plastic Warlord Bolt Action bases JoeRugby (an older box set I think)

Thanks for the feedback, MrMoustaffa. I'm hoping they can be produced in a green material so you don't even have to spray them . Glad you're on board with the poses, I'm not a fan of strangely balanced or overly unique poses for gaming purposes.

I agree variety is key. Unfortunately I'm in a position where I can't invest a huge amount of time without getting the ball rolling first and proving there's room in the market for them. The goal though would be two infantry sets of ten unique figures each, and then support units.

Resin is basically the only realistic option for a start up like this so if anyone knows of companies making nice resin figures who might be interested in collaborating on this please let me know

These are awesome. Will purchase.

ideas: Beef up the grenades a bit (I can see one that hasn't printed well) .

A bit more variety in the helmets. Hanging chinstraps perhaps?

Some rank badges? They'd be real easy to remove, but awkward to add.

The wee German is Terrific too.

I was hoping for tan, but grey makes way more sense for obvious reasons.

Not sure if colored resin is an option that ups price by a whole lot but having them be different colors out of the box is nice in a way. You'd be able to just slap them onto bases right out of the box and play.

Have you contacted Reaper by any chance? I know Victoria Lamb worked with them to some degree to make this absolutely massive artillery piece. They're the only company I've heard of contracting Resin work but I'm sure there's others out there.

These are looking good. About the size, if they do not scale with current other popular wargames out there, it might be hard to persuade that following to buy these ones. So from a business point of view, I'd personally try to compare with other popular gaming systems and scale yours accordingly. After the testprints, it might be neccessary to readjust some details, like mousemuffins is saying. The smaller print, the larger the details obviously need to be to be able to show. I also like the idea of a little more variety, especially for the heads.

Good job. Keeping my eye on this.

On the other hand, being different to other historicals is a major selling point of these - I'm glad they wouldn't mix in with the vast majority of them

These look great. I'd love to get some heroic scale WW2 troops.

Warlord's stuff really disappointed me. Tiny guns, huge heads.....

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.
