I thought the battletomes and realmgate wars were pretty decent but the novels were pure garbage.

IMO it really depends on the novel in question. There are some that simply weren't enjoyable for me while others were really great. Some of the ones with multiple short stores were also up and down, with some of them being good and some bad. The Fyreslayers book in particular, one of the stories is among my favorite fictions for AoS overall, another was solid, and I can't even remember what the others were because they made so little impact.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

The novels I've read so far have been good and pretty engaging. Hammers of Sigmar has been a surprising favorite even though I was expecting bland.

Lots of interesting background tidbits and characters who really give different perspectives on the setting. (And you could play a drinking game for every time the word "knight" appears )

They've only increased in quality from there so I've been a happy reader.

Crikey, this needs an update!

Got a bunch of short stories, Nagash The Undying King and I think another Novel to add?

It's not the Sky Stunty one, as I've not picked that up yet.
