Most of the time I just drink Heineken these days as it is easy to get, cheap and probably the best of the common lagers.

In my youthful days, one of the horse tracks in south Florida served ICE cold Heineken on draft, and did not check IDs for age. Very fond memories, and I still enjoy a cold Heiney every once in a while.

Oh god, I can't stand Heineken now and it's not a bad beer at all. I used to spend my summers in Thailand, when I lived in Korea and Japan, and it was the predominate beer available, outside of the Thai beer, which I hated. :-)

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Just killed two glasses of a tart IPA, which was AWESOME!! That overly hoppy flavor that defines an IPA? Very subtle. The tartness counterbalanced it. And did an awesome job. Very impressed. Called "Zero 2 Sixty".

I will try any beer once. As for beers I go back to repeatedly...

These are my favorite two beers. Sadly, they are both both seasonal and hard to find. Lacking access to these (as is the case at most restaurants and bars), my preferences are Innis and Gun, Big Rock, or Okanagan Springs.

You guys really like your beer. Maybe I should look into that yeast breeding theory my prof was talking about...

Oooh a beer thread count me in. Love a proper ale. Hobgoblin for starts, enjoy most of the wytchwood brews. Landship form the Dorset brewing company is pretty nice too.

Badger ales along with Glastonbury ale are a couple more that spring to mind. Then there's the iron maiden trooper ale. Cornish ales with the cool pirate labels. So much choice these days and not full of crap like most lagers lol.

My local beer store has a couple of those in stock, are they worth trying?

Yeah it won't knock you over. It's not overly heavy. But goes down really well. Buy 3 or 4 as they will be gone before you know it. Doesn't help that the bottles are small.

Some of the Iron Maiden lines are limited releases, e.g Red Trooper.

If you find a limited release (limited edition or small batch) beer you like, fill up because it could sell out in a couple of weeks.

Some of them are Saison beers and will be re-released at the same time next year.

As far as my standard go-to, I go with Blue Moon or Magic Hat #9.
For imports, Spitfire all the way.

I live 15 minutes from Victory Brewing, so when I feel like spending a bit extra I grab some Golden Monkey.

Most mental beer I've ever tasted? Brewdog's Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Essentially a knowing 'Idiot's Brew'. Near lethally strong, it's closer to a spirit than a beer. Local pub got two bottles in for a beer festival, and I had a couple of samples. Oh god it tastes awful! Like, Tennant's Super with a shot of Jif Micro Liquid. But, it was an experience in itself.

I've always wanted to try that, but I can't find it here, or anyone that will import it

BrewDog are starting up a US brewery, so you should be able to get it much more easily in the future.

I'll plug my local (ish) favorite here, Infamous IPA from Granville Island Brewing (Vancouver):

I liked that one though for me it is coffee enough to want to drink in the summer. Right now I would prefer a more chocolatey stout.

Limited single day release of Igor's Dream!! And they have all the way back to 4 year aged!! Russian Imperial Stout, for those curious. I got as much as I was allowed (7 bottles, 1 for each back year, and 3 for this year).
