The big one was when the new discaplines came out and Chaos got a tick for divination (I think it was). This didn´t allow all chaos psykers to use divination as their codex didn´t allow that. It was simply that Ahriman was specifically allowed to use it initially so they got the tick in the box because as a faction chaos did have access to it.

It wasn't even Ahriman. If you took the Scrolls of Magnus to get a new random power each turn there was a chance you could roll Divination. Huron Blackheart also had a 1/3 chance to get a Divination spell each turn. Hence Divination access.

I always thought it was probably more in reference to the Crimson Slaughter relic that gave Divination, though Huron and the Scrolls are likely to.

At the time the cards came out Crimson Slaughter didn't exist if I remember correctly.

Crimson Slaughter was half of the 6th edition starter set, along with the Dark Angels.

But they didn't actually have a book, or relics, at that point did they?

They had a Codex Supplement released in March 2014.

Ah, I'm getting confused with the 6th edition cards. I wasn't even aware they released a set of 7th edition cards. My mistake.

We had rumors and picture of a plastic Thunderhawk kit 2 years before the Stormraven proved the rumor. That means the Stormraven was a concept 3-4 years before the kit was revealed. It is a bad assumption to assume GW did not intent their products to mention specific details at the time of publishing, even if thise details change before they can be implemented. A great example are White Dwarf articles, which cover a detail that is dropped after the edition has gone to print. And I am dead certain that the current GK codex written for the leaked 7e BRB, not the 7e BRB we ended up with.

So take each release with a bit of caution before jump on the wrong bandwagon.

So update on this thread:

Voldus, the new GK character, can roll on the AoD powers. Looks like the reference card was future-proofing, as I thought, and now makes perfect sense. GK faction CAN access Librarius, through one single character. Just like Eldar faction can access Divination through Farseers, but not through Warlocks or Spiritseers.
