I had to accept recently that this is only true while the shooting model is completely within the arc of a facing. If it is on the line between facings, you can elect to draw LOS from any part of the model, which then determines from where the shot comes - so you can pick facings when you shoot - if tge model is betweej tqo facings.

That's a fair point; I wouldn't dispute that at all, even if that's not explicitly written, I would accept that as RAI.
