btw, i'd not say they got a straight up buff. Don't forget - markerlights grant re-rolls of 1-s in shooting. Means that the majority of units will be bs3.5. Down from 2+ ignore cover they're now.

Ha.

Go try to play Age of Sigmar without the shenanigans people who have their own faction books get and with pre-End Times models and see how far you get.

'Power rankings' are here to stay.

But that's still "codex creep" in a sense, since faction books are gradually released, yes? Based on rumors, all 40k factions will be updated simultaneously in a pseudo-"Grand Alliance" book, and hopefully w/o sub-faction (or whatever they'd be called) books to creep, like AoS faction books are to Grand Alliance books. Hopefully GW just follows the PP model and makes across-the-board updates every year. Give all factions a fair chance to compete and consumers a fair chance to decide what they really wanna play (for those that can't control their insecurity and must play the most recent creep).

That aside, there will be power rankings as usual, but I have a feeling it'll be much more closer from top to bottom than some of the stuff I hear/have heard about 7th and 6th.

And AOS got same sweep at one time at the first. And there will be codexes for 40k later as well.

There was a pretty funny thing on BaC in the sisters thread that sisters are gonna be busted because they'll be so forgotten they'll still have initiative and Ap 5 (so -5 save) bolters.

Nids would like some immunity to bravery tests from the synapse. AoS Bloodbound has this and it is very important for the horde units especially. If not termagants will flee by the dozen.

No. I wouldn't. I think synapse should give a solid buff against it. But I DO NOT want immunity to it. Nobody should be immune to it.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Probably start as a CC oriented game and then evolve into shooting oriented, like AoS seemed to.

I think Combi Flamers will be pretty good, as you can ignore the -1 to hit and still get your bolter shots. The ability to cause more wounds seems better than damage, as extra wounds work against anything, while lascannons can at most kill one model.

Guess we will see, though!

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

I think this is going to be the F edition. Flyers and flamers. Longer movement range, ignores terrain, and always hits. So I go for chaos Daemons
Flamers, jump infantry (keyword flyer)
Screamers fast attack (keyword flyer)
Winged Daemon Prince (keyword flyer)
Pink horrors cheap objective holder
(keyword Chaos daemons) have the deep strike special rule. tzeentch will rule.
Maybe even Magnus will make a showing.
Of course I could be wrong

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

(Primaris) Marines will be top tier, but Marines are boring to play.
Therefore, I'll stay with Xenos.

Back in 5th edition, I found that Vanilla Marines did best when you took units that other players weren't used to facing, like Thunderfire Cannon, Scout Snipers, and Ironclad Dreadnoughts. At least in my area, no one used those, and my brother did, and he would win nearly every game.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As to who will be the strongest in 8th? I have no clue, and no preference. I just hope that all the power levels are evened off for the start of the edition and the rules become more resistant to shenanigans.

True, but on the other hand, at least for my IG player, i feel terrified before T'''''a''''''u''''''' who might get overwehlming for us: they're potentially beating us by our rules thanks to the power of they're own weapon, the better overall resilience of they're tanks as regard to what they previously were, the fact that their combat armors are allowed to shoot down multiple targets... and the IG has few close combat unit to try and win by the most "classical" option. Anyway I guess (or hope) that the rules will allow a little cunning to overcome any hindering!

But you have to be more experienced than I am and therefore trust your point of view.

At this very moment I rate melee armies low, while ranged armies (36"+) seems good.

Besides jump packs and heaps of terrain to cover behind I'd rate Anything that closes in on the opponent DEAD.

Overall we've mostly seen nerfs from what has been revealed;

-AP has been nerfed (not entirely, ie MEQs)
-cover becoming much more useful (kinda bad and good for Tau)
-Previously mentioned markerlight nerf
-Consolidating into combat
-Super speedy nids
-Vehicles becoming much more durable

Only buff I've noticed is Crisis Suits now shoot 3 weapons base, and flamers are probably going to be better. I'm not a fan of Stormsurges so I can't really comment on those since I never used them to begin with. But this is without the whole ruleset, and Tau do need to be brought down and balanced along with Eldar, Necrons and SM.

We'll just have to wait and see how it all turns out
