I want something new. Playing 18 different flavors of marines is not what I would say is new or interesting. I have Deathwatch and it is one of the greatest rpg's of all time. That and only war is really good.

Edit
DoW 3 lol. That game is so bland.

To be honest, an Horus Heresy RPG could be cool IF it's done like black crusade: meaning you get to combine both regular humans and astarttes, maybe even play as a xenos race extinct since millenia.

No, don't throw in fething aliens, that's not how it works.

One element from Black Crusade that would work well for a Horus Heresy RPG would be conflicting agendas, not knowing where the loyalties of others lie, or even being unsure where you are at yourself, be it Terra or Horus as your master. Ideally it would work best with people who know little to nothing of the heresy itself.

That said, a reboot of the 40K RPG is fine by me, it just depends on what they're tackling this time around. Maybe they'll skip the Inquisition and go straight for Space Marines this time around.

When I'll be able to roleplay as a Tau?

"Tau Septs RPG"? You can roleplay as one of four of five castes, or as a Gue'vesa, a Kroot, a Tarellian, a Demiurg...

I am all for another 40k RPG.
I never played the FFG one so I don't know much about it.

Did FFG flesh out the world that exists outside of the endless war?

As for system, I'd be surprised if Cubicle 7 didn't do their own system. T.S. Luikart is one of their designers, and he was involved in the old Black Industries days. I'm sure he has opinions on the subject.

Personally I just buy RPG books for the background material, so they could copypasta GURPS for all I care, so long as it provides more proper WHF(ie, not AoS) fluff.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

The games interlinked. If you wanted to play A, B, or C, they related. You never played the FFG one, so hold what you have, go to your local store and check a book out, then make an predetermined decision.

ORK's too. You can play any of them, as a matter of fact. That's what was great about the books, then the ongoing fluff... Each book added more to the game, and the evolution of it was amazing.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Hmm...

It's not an uncommon term for RPG's these days.

Official INFINITY Tabletop Roleplaying Game Coming!

Through the Breach is a tabletop roleplaying game set in the world of Malifaux.

Both of those RPGs, while they allow the use of miniatures and describe ways to do it and have some official miniatures, are designed as pen and paper experiences rather than miniatures experiences.

Let's just say that a lot of Tau fans were very unhappy about some shades of grey that FFG added to that race, and leave it at that.

Most likely FFG owns the actual work they created, and GW owns the WHF and 40K properties themselves.

But how much of the game setting (i.e. the specific sector) did FFG create? Remember that GW first published the original Dark Heresy rulebook, not FFG. It was turned over to FFG shortly afterwards. Does anyone know who exactly came up with the background to the sector that made up the designated setting for Dark Heresy?

Yeap it's a digital supplement on how to play I suspect they were working on a full supplement book but it was right around the time they got Star Wars and started closing down support on the 40k line. Even had Riptide as an armor you can wear if your GM is awesome enough to somehow let an ordinary Firewarrior get a hold of one lol. Given the crafty nature of adventurer's and the fact that when I played a Rogue Trader game I had master crafted artificer blessed power armor the best in the game and am a Rogue Trader running around with better gear than the Inquisition you can probably do it.

As far as I am aware it was a full supplement. It was the main rules section for The Twilight Crusade, in the same way that The Soul Reaver had a full second section for playing DW characters. This one just had the Tau section.

They had both for a number of years. Their 40k RPGs were fully supported right up until around Imperial Assault and Armada were announced. They were definitely still working on 40k RPGs when X-Wing was blazing through the community.

It really wasn't confirmed by Cubicle 7. Grim and Perilious talked about it but we had no real confirmation on the company's side.

I picked up Zweihänder, but I will 100% be getting everything they make for this RPG, seeing as it is a 1E/2E 'inspired' game.

Well, I mean, I will if their system is any good, of course!

In the C7 FB post, several people have asked if this would be Old World or AoS. C7 has been saying it will be Old World, but to stay tuned for at what point it in the Old World.

As I said last time this topic came up, I would have preferred AOS rpg. It's not that I don't like the Old World, but frankly, If I want to play in the Old World I already have all the setting material I'll ever need. Meanwhile AOS setting is new and unexplored, and I'd like to have RPG style detailed sourcebooks on it.

Lord Kragon pointed out the hint of AoS getting something too, my guess is GW will be making the rpg themselves. Maybe Hammerhal was just them flexing their muscles?

But yeah, the unexplored potential of AoS' setting for a rpg would be amazing to see realized.

but I will 100% be getting everything they make for this RPG

Well, I mean, I will if their system is any good, of course!

The enthusiasm backstep of this made my day.

Different strokes and all that.

It is only a matter of time before someone pumps out an AoS RPG, so in the meantime, us Old Worlders will enjoy this Old World setting!

Players start off in the OW and play through into the AoS.
Then, C7 releases a supplement setting for AoS.

Dude, that is an awesome idea.

You have the OW RPG, an End Times expansion, and then an AoS RPG.

I'm not a big fan of AoS as I think GW sold their souls and sold out Warhammer's legacy so they could slap a ™ after everything, but even I'd be interested in that.

the Mortal Realms offer just as much scope for adventuring as the Warhammer World did, but I'm not sure I'd want to go from one to the other in a single campaign.

You can do the traditional gritty low fantasy "I've cast a spell and now I've grown a tentacle and gone mad" type of WFRP game if you like, or do some crazy realm-hopping thing with heroes sailing their skyship between floating mountains and lakes of fire, or anything in between.
