Looking through my bits box I probably have enough parts to equip two long fang squads with 2 plasma cannons and two lascannons each, plus a ML for each squad potentially. Given that you run a similar list, how have you found yourself fairing against a range of opponents?

I'm all for long fangs, but predators seem attractive as well. Two would give me 4D3 S7 AP-1 D3 autocannon shots, and 4 S9 AP-3 DD6 lascannon shots. Thats a significant amount of dakka for 400 ish points.

The LRC is a tough choice, because it is a large number of points but it does provide a good amount of anti infantry/anti horde fire. It also draws a lot of enemy fire which saves some of the other units.

I'd drop the crusader for 2 predators. That's a lot more firepower for the points and a wider field of fire.

The dread I'd drop and use the points to put wolf claws on the TWC. Re-rolling to wound will be helpful, especially if they decide to whack into a high toughness model

Sadly I don't have two spare predator chassis atm, and have both dreads and a LRC. Tough to justify spending $120 just like that. I think I will run what I have for now and if I don't have enough anti-armor I can always make changes. I also want to get some experience with deep striking terminators to see if its a viable option to drop the LRC as their transport. I don't want them to fail their charge and just get blasted to pieces in no mans land.

Perhaps this list will be the final way to go. Seems to have the best balance from the options I've considered earlier. It also avoids the issue of having a long fangs squad that gets shot off the table T1 because they are the only single wound models when I deploy.

Fast Attack
Thunderwolf Cavalry - 1xFS/SS 4xCS/SS 307

Heavy Support
Land Raider Crusader - Twin Assault-cannon, 2xHurricane bolter, storm bolter 285
Predator - Predator autocannon, 2xLascannons, Storm Bolter 203

Points total: 2000 PL: 103. Model count: 35

Strategies:
Harald and his puppies will run around and bring terror to the enemies of the emperor, while chewing through any infantry they meet and maybe even light vehicles. Glacius/the frost sword on the pack leader should help in this regard.

The good old grey hunters will sit in their asscannon razorbacks till they get to some nice cover and hold objectives. The razorbacks will spit death at anybody that comes near and keeps the wise old hunters safe.

The land raider can be used to either camp an objective and harass any units that come near, or deliver Arjac and his shieldborthers into close quarters where they will savage anything that gets in their way. All the attacks with TH's should make any vehicle scared and the shields make them hard to kill.

The good old predator is on anti-armor duty.

One quick change to this army to add more anti-armor would be to add a second predator. By dropping the LRC and deep striking the terminators I would have enough points to add a sixth TWC model with TH/SS, and stay 5 points under the 2000 limit.

The version with long fangs and razorbacks seems great. I have had very good success with long fangs few editions ago.

I'd definitely advocate a second predator!

I thougt about it some more and the LR just isn't worth it. Deep striking the terminatirs will be fine, and can always use a CP to reroll a die on a failed charge. Two predators brings so much more firepower, and gives two extra special weapons to the TWC and six total instead of five models. What really helped me make this decision was watching some battle reports where wolf lists got wrecked by flyers or heavy armor cause they didn't bring enough firepower. Fielding 5 vehicles also makes taking all of the out very challenging and the razorbacks can hurt you if you ignore them. I think this final (yes final) version would do very well at FLGS.

I much prefer this iteration of the list! In regards to the termies are you sold on all having TH & SS. Just thinking you're hitting on 4's with them. Might be an idea to mix a couple of wolf claws in there just for reliable hitting....

Yeah I was thinking it might make sense to add two pairs of wolf claws. I already modeled 5 TH/SS terminators though and do like them for fluff reasons with Arjac. Clearing out some points that way would let me run a cyberwolf too for pure objective grabbing.

I wouldn't go dual claw, give them a claw and SS. That way they've got a bit of punch and a good defence.
