Was just poking around youtube and saw a video where they were saying a lot of people are getting insta-banned right off the bat, because they use streaming software or overlay things that show your FPS. The game doesn't like that because it injects code or something, so they just ban people thinking it's a cheat. So if you use any of that stuff you might want to disable it for now till they get their act together.
I don't really play often, so if anyone else wants to run it, let me know. I'll check the clan page periodically to accept anyone who requests to join or whatever.
Also I only play on PC now, not Xbox, but it looks like you can join a clan no matter what platform you are on, since my old xbox account is still listed as a member too.
Not sure what perks clans get but it looks like our XP bar is about ready to hit the next level.
I have been trying to get a Field Justice (Hakke Scout Rifle) since the console launch and still have not gotten one. Even with fixed perks RNG is still fairly cruel and makes the game not nearly as much fun over the long run.
There is a spot in your inventory that the clan item goes in and if you mouse over it it should say what the perks are. Also remember when the quarterly update happens (they are calling it "Seasons" to make it sound nicer) clan xp is reset back to 0. If you cap out the clan xp you get a special banner and that carries over through Seasons.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
I leveled up the clan to level 2 last night, just gives a little cash bonus. I don't think it's going to make it to level 3 with just me playing though
Enjoying the game quite a bit though. Looks great on my ultrawide monitor, but kinda bummed I can't get it to play on my TV. I have an extra long HDMI cable running to the TV, and most games have a video setting where I can select which monitor to play on, but D2 doesn't allow that :( I can change my primary monitor in Windows, but that gets to be a hassle to do that every single time I start the game.
I’m bummed because my internet can’t actually handle destiny. I’ve had to put the thing on hold. And my friends have went and beaten the main storyline without me.
I’ve been attempting to play it again despite my gakky internet but it’s tough. I’m on my way to

Also is it true that if you didn’t load a guardian character from Destiny 1 the story assumes that you’re not the young wolf? That would bug me a lot. I had to go from Xbox 360 to PS 4 so I have that ‘break’ in the story. I couldn’t get rise of iron either. :(

Ah yes, none of the original content was on PC. Only D2 stuff is.
There’s another thing bugging me. The friendly fallen captain from the mission ‘the enemy of my enemy’? Not realising their significance, I killed them. Now I’ve missed out on that little easter egg.

I played D1+D2 on Xbox, didn't get asked to port my characters.
It basically ported your achievements over. That's about it.
For anyone interested, I'm gathering members of my clan (on PC) for the Raid tonight at about 9:00ish EST. We still have open slots for one or two people if anyone from Dakka wants to tag alone. I'm going to be teaching the raid mechanics, so if you don't know them here's a chance to learn. EDIT: I am requiring discord from my members as communication is really important for most of the Raid. I can send an invite to anyone from Dakka who wants to come.

I could probably be there, never did a raid before. I'm level 20, but I haven't finished the main storyline yet if that matters.. I think my light or whatever is around 230. Don't know if that's good or noobish or if it matters.
I think you have to finish the Storyline for the Raid to be available (you need the quest to even go there). The minimum light level for the raid however is 270. 260 can probably cut it.
Finished the campaign. now I just gotta get my light level up. With my luck by the time I get high enough, the expansion will be out and then we'll have an all new level max and no one will want to do the old stuff anymore
I don’t think I’ll get the main campaign finished by December 5. Due to my crapppy internet, I can only manage one mission per session after multiple attempts. Somebody slap me and make me buy better internet.
I lost my connection a few times, I really hate it.. you have to start the mission all over again :( There should be an option for rejoining your last mission at your last checkpoint if you lose your connection.

I feel ya. That’s exactly what happened to me and it’s so frustrating.
So I’ve discovered one consequence of not uploading your old D1 character...you and your ghost have no idea who the Taken are. It’s weird hearing that despite being the guy who killed Oryx.
I worked on my old d1 character for three years. It feels wrong to abandon them but I can’t justify getting an Xbox 1 just on this basis.
It feels like they fixed a lot of issues, but still left some glaring ones in this edition. The multiplayer random drop events are a big win, no more gear for different classes in your random loot, and some form of 'random' sync up for harder difficulties is nice.
The downside that the Leviathan/Cabal post game level is impossible as a single player, and it does not have an easy 'jump into a game' mode, effectively requiring you to have a pre-ordained group to play it. I also don't care for the fact that despite being 279 light, it never feels like it. No matter how high you scale, it never gets "easier" per say. You should be able to reach a point where you just cruise through things, but the random world baddies never go to 'easy'. You need the light to hang in there on levels, but running a level 100 or 140 mission never hits cruise control.
I tried the free trial, and it looks good.
How much time is needed to keep playing? I'm a casual player, and don't do raids in anything else.
Not having had a console, I missed out on D1, but have been seeing this one getting launched.

Depends on how much of a completionist you are I think. Lots of activities only take 10-15 minutes to do, and by and large eventually everything you can do gives equal quality rewards. You might have to do more public events to get a better gear piece but you can do those faster than a raid. Time invested for reward is pretty evenly paced imo so while a casual player might not get everything done they can get done the things they want to get done, you know? Some weapons are definitely better than others, and there's lots of RNG on loot rewards (and lots of duplicate items), but the story is basically one long tutorial and it hands you a lot of decent gear that will serve you well even if it isn't top of the line min-max stuff. Some special events might be disappointing (Iron Banner and Faction Rally require lots of grinding and some luck to get everything you want quick), but I find the game very friendly towards the kind of player who logs on for maybe an hour or two a night and just does their daily's and weekly's and moves on.
I'd warn that the game, while actually functioning well on PC on a system level, lacks of a lot basic QOL features. The menus are clearly designed with consoles in mind when it comes to inventory and bank space, in game chat is limited to whispers (in game chat is on the to do list according to the devs), and the game needs much better LFG features (you can use the phone app, or the Bungie "Find a Fireteam" website to group with people but those are outside the game itself).
The game is also clearly designed for people who want to buy the DLC releases. When Curse of Osiris dropped earlier this week most of the End Game activities had their level requirements raised to the new level cap and thus out of reach of people who don't have the DLC.
