They mention the promo counters at the start of the magazine when talking about the free items with this month''s issue. Then there is no other mention of the game at all.

There was a brief bit about the game last month, which should have apparently been in a later issue of WD to coincide with the promo or the actual release (iirc).

Devil Pig Games

1 hr ·

Dear customers and supporters, it has been far too long since we have last communicated with you.

Unfortunately, there is a reason for this: we are sorry to inform you that Devil Pig Games is in a particularly critical situation. We remain hopeful of getting out of this difficult time and fully assume our responsibility in the situation. A strategy error on the Kickstarter Strategic Resupply led to the fact that we worked at a loss. The relatively healthy situation so far then deteriorated sharply and our efforts were not enough to reverse the trend.

We have committed in too many projects and could not deliver. We hold ourselves accountable in front of you, our customers and our supporters, and apologize for not living up to our commitments.

This has impacts that some of you have already noticed: we had to prioritize project outputs according to their ease of implementation rather than their projected exit date for cash flow reasons. Some more recent projects have therefore been released before earlier ones.

For several months now, in order to minimize our operating costs and while all the production files of the various ongoing projects have already been finalized, we have also had to make a difficult choice: to put 4 members of our team out of work. The evolution of the situation will hopefully allow us to bring them back, but there is no guarantee at the moment.

Our objective remains to deliver what we promised.

The main issue today is to find the finances for our suppliers so that they can unblock shipments of products that are already manufactured. If we can sell some of our inventory, we will.

If you want to help us, don't hesitate to complete your collections of products already available: every euro will count to speed up the process.

We need to find an investor who can help us unlock the situation. If you are interested, you can contact us.

Another difficult decision: we have decided not to launch a new project until we have resolved the current situation.

As a result, we will better promote our assets and our range. In practice, this means publishing official scenarios for all products in the Heroes System range. We believe that this lack of scenarios has been a barrier for those who want to acquire some extensions. You already know the two scriptwriters who are coming to our rescue: Thia for Heroes of Normandy and Guillaume for Shadows over Normandy. For those who are interested, please note that any help available will be welcome.

We believe that a system only lives if there is something new and we will therefore offer you Print & Play items on our website to feed the range.

We will also change the way we communicate. We will be more present and more regularly, thanks in particular to Guillaume, who has offered us his support. You can consider his posts and answers as official answers. However, we ask you for a little understanding during the implementation of this new communication.

For tomorrow: our priority will be to refocus on our flagship game system, the Heroes System. The other systems will not be forgotten: we are multiplying contacts to try to find buyers and are confident that this will be successful.

We will also focus on our know-how: designing games. Our team has always been a small team of passionate and creative people, not managers, and we are therefore looking for a partner with whom we can partner to take over the financial and logistical management. We have contacted various players in the gaming industry and we hope that we will find common ground. But it is too early to tell you more about it.

We hope that this message will answer your questions. We thank you all for your support and loyalty, which gives us the strength to fight in this difficult time. Be convinced that we hope that the Devil Pig Games adventure will continue to offer you games that you will enjoy playing.

The Devil Pig Team

although this does seem to be getting close assuming they can get the funds together to ship it out

They probably needed to bite the bullet and asked for extra shipping earlier (perhaps promising to repay it if they got the business back on a better footing)

but now I'd be worried even if somebody did pay for shipping it wouldn't happen and they'd loose that cash too

but these sort of things always look simple in hindsight

Wow, I really need to hit the online stores and gobble up some of the stuff I have wanted for Heroes of Normandie. Such an awesome WW2 wargame.

I jumped in on Stalingrad at the last minute as their game is a lot of fun.

So yeah, clearly wishing I'd not done that...

Are you talking about their "Heroes of Normandie" tactical card game as being late/hasn't shipped yet?

Heroes of Black Reach is about to be delivered.

European side has arrived to France already and is being prepared to be delivered.

US side, the stuff is still in ship being transported. Iello will deliver it to US customers when the ship arrives.

What happens to heroes of Stalingrad and the card game? I don't know. It sounds like they are doing it one step at time, so HoBR first... then the next step (whatever it'll be).

My bet is that one or both of the Kickstarters are going to get f'd over, and if we're lucky, we'll get the dreaded 'Print-n-Play And That's It Folks'..."option".

Heroes of Black Reach

Shop World: the games arrived at Meeple Logistics (the dispatcher) last Monday. With the delay, we missed our dispatch slot. They must finish their current dispatch. They'll try to start private pre-orders before but nothing sure. The rest will be sent from the week of October 8 normally.

US SHOP: the games will arrive at the harbor by mid-October (maybe a little before). The boat is on its way.

To show you that HoBR exists, we have received boxes at the office from Meeple Logistics stocks.

it looks like there is the cash to pay to ship them out and I would hope there is more than just stock for the pre-orders so there is going to be new product to sell but it's certainly knife edge

It's a bummer that they have been stumbling, as their game system is quite good. I absolutely love Heroes of Normandie, the only reason I didn't blindly and happily preorder the Heroes of Black Reach is that it would compete with playing games of HoN, and frankly, actual 40k. Save for not having models on the table, and the icons getting too overpowering on the tokens for some units, their core system is as fulfilling as a full-on miniatures game, especially when handling vehicles, which have armor facings and multiple weapons systems, and sometimes transport capacity.

Dammit. I tried to avoid another KS disaster and thought I had a safe bet pre-ordering Stalingrad. Hope this doesn't turn into another disaster for me.

They've got a great system, and I was looking forward to HoBR over Adeptus Titanicus even. Here's to hoping they recover from this stumble.

I wouldn't write off Heroes of Stalingrad just yet...

The Heroes of Black Reach is shipping right now. Then I think they are focusing on Heroes of Stalingrad. I think all of the punchboards and rulebook files are done and just need to be printed and then shipped.
That is why they were putting 4 people off. They are freezing any future game project design work to save money.
It also seems to be case that they haven't cannibalized Stalingrad KS money, so it still might go forward after they finish with shipping of Black Reach.

The real loser seems to be the Heroes of Normandie card game. It has stalled for a long time now. Maybe, after DPG gets some money off from Black Reach and Stalingrad sales (i.e. sales not tied to KS or the pre-order, but extra copies that go to stores) they might nudge that project moving again?

It is hard to gather any information though as most of their communication that is taking Place happens in the french side of the DPG forums and I don't speak french, at all...

Hello everyone,

We thank you for all the messages of encouragement, support and aid proposals we have received, it warms our heart and it relieves in this very difficult period.

In our idea of improvement, small point on projects:

- Heroes of Black Reach: as said yesterday, it is in the warehouse in France and on the boat for the USA. FYI, our preorders will stop as soon as the shipments to you begins, and indeed, our offer about the reinforcement packs with the 2 free Punchboards Promos (Freebooterz and Vanguard Veteran Squad)

- Gazette #8 for Heroes of Normandie: in production in Poland, which makes it to arrive at your home before the end of the year

- Heroes of Stalingrad: the whole phase of development and creation of printing files is over, the production phase will start soon. We have received financial support for the production of stalingrad with the obligation to use it on this project even though we are aware that Hon TCG should have passed before the fact of his prior. We cannot afford the luxury of declining such a proposal, since every project that will succeed will be an additional guarantee to bring all projects to its end. We'll be late. We'll publish an update on the project today so everyone knows.

- Heroes of Normandy - the card game: it is curently blocked at the factory level, but it will be produced. We have always honoured our projects, even with delays.

Thank you again, you will receive everything you ordered.

from facebook,

so HoS seems reasonably secure, and assuming they can sell that they've got a shot at getting the card game done

I have Kickstarted/Pre-ordered everything out of that list...

Anyway, nice to get info on the stage where everything is (in english)!

Frankly, I would put getting the card game last place on that list anyway, so no big deal to me that it is the red headed step-son of that list.

Now I'll sit back and see what happens. I still have faith in DPG. They have bought a lot of goodwill from me over the years, so I'm not gonna bail on them in the first sign of troubles.

While it is good to see what's what and what will most likely be an eventual OK resolution here, it is hard to see DPG continuing after this debacle, unless they're completely bought out and brought in under another company's banner.

Which is a shame, because their 'Heroes' game system is quite nice and a lot of fun.

That might still happen. But not before the four outstanding items on that list are done. So it will take time to happen...

I'm hoping to see something new for HoBR eventually...

That’s a bit of relief. Though, I did order HoBR off MM, so I’m not sure if that will be fulfilled from “preorder” stock or some other way.

Do hope they will be around for a long time to come. I have really enjoyed their game system so far.

This was posted on Heroes of Stalingrad kickstarter:

Hello,

The whole phase of development and creation of printing files is over, the production phase will start soon.

We have received financial support for the production of Stalingrad with the obligation to use it on this project even though we are aware that Hon TCG should have passed before the fact of his prior. We cannot afford the luxury of declining such a proposal, since every project that will succeed will be an additional guarantee to bring all projects to its end.

Currently, we have two factories that propose us two interesting final quotes. We will choose one this week. Why was it so long to decide? The special aspect of this project is that we want the pledges to be fully prepared at the factory, including the shipping box and the protections, so that the dispatchers do not have to do this (saving time and money), as Cool Mini or Not does. So, it's a query that's different from what the factories are used to receiving and they needed time to finalize the quotes. We are happy with them.

So, the production will start soon. As you can imagine, we will be late (2 months of production and 2 months of carrying from the factory to the dispatch hub). We hope for a delivery 2019 Q1.

We understand your frustration, we thank you for your support and we return to work.

For information, we will not be in Essen this year because we minimize all the expenses that are not absolutely necessary for our survival and the release of all the projects engaged.

Some people in French and around that area have already gotten their copies of HoBR.

So the game is being sent to customers in EU.

I heard the ship has arrived in US and propably people there start getting their copies too (barring delays in customs or something like that).

I, myself being in EU, haven't gotten my copy yet, but have received notification, so I might get it next week or so.

Just FYI for those interested.
