Thanks guys. I didn't realize the truck was going to be the hit.
@ Meercat- What uncle Joe doesn't know won't hurt him. I've always loved the napoleonic stuff and needed some bearskin shakos in the army. I'm not sure what the rules for him yet, I like to build first and figure out rules later.
@ JohnnyHell- I've considered the beads but there's a train shop owned by a really nice family nearby that carries the tubes and not the beads.
Going forward I'm planning on picking up the gallon sized unit of resin. I can get about 20 Leman Russ out of a gallon so I'm waiting until I have a whole weekend free to do that.
In the mean time I'm going to be building a few more chimera chassis and painting up my existing stuff. I've got a couple ideas percolating that I'll get to eventually, but I'd like the community's opinion on what the next thing will be. I've got plans for:
An open bed taurox
a small jeep sized vehicle
a basilisk gmc
different leman russ weapons
a baneblade
If anyone has thoughts on what my next project should be I'd love to hear it.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Since I don't want to update without at least a few pics, here are a few of my heavy weapons teams. I've always thought the weapons were too big for just a team of 2, so I tuned mine into carriage weapons. I'll be making a few more and adding some WiP pics when those are together.
Here are my stormtroopers for the army- I built them using GW cadian torsos with a greenstuffed front plate, secret weapon greatcoat legs and cadian/victoria minis arms. Sergeants are getting soft caps and troopers will get picklehelms.

You should definitely build a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT CARRIER. It's not even that great in games but it's so cool you win a Major Style Victory just by fielding one. Also it's quite a fun build.

@JohnnyHell- I hadn't considered a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT CARRIER! but I may have to look into it. I think I've got the patoroch files somewhere.
I found myself with a bit of free time, so I got some work done on the tanks
I biult 8 more IFV chassis, bringing the total up to 10.
I also got some paint on the two that I cast, I built one hull about 2mm wider than the other. I think I like the narrower one more, but I'm not certain yet.
I was also able to paint up the other 3 Battle tanks I built.

The wife is at a bridal shower for the weekend and I get to take care of the mother in law- which means I get a bunch of hobbying done after 8:30. I started assembly lining the vehicles and churning them out. I'll be working on more of them this evening.

Truly impressive production! I just can't get things done fast like that- I need to see how someone else is able to organize and get it going. Love the designs as well- great looking vehicles!

Thanks meercat. I have very little self control so when I plan an army it gets big.
Here’s a shot of my setup from last night. The resin usually takes about 30 mins or so to set, so I normally run 2 every 15 mins. By the time I’m done cleaning and demolding the second set is done.

@ SGT Smudge- The trumpet came from the Perry Miniatures Napoleonic French Cuirassiers box. I have 40 that I used as a basis for my rough riders and each set comes with 3-4 musicians each. Going forward each command squad will have a banner, drummer, trumpeter and sapper. I may make a few squads of sappers to run as engineers, but that is a future project.
Unfortunetally I haven't gotten much work done on my vehicles. I built and primed a platoon of infantry in a charging pose. I also built another commander, based on the plastic commissar. I thought the Jodhpurs were a nice touch and greenstuffed a tunic and gorget over the braids on the torso
Here's a shot of the components for a tank- minus the sponsons. I've been building those individually but I think I'm going to start casting them. The cannon is just pvc piping, which is easy enough to mass produce.
I've also started scetching out possible ideas for my other armored vehicles while busy at work.
I have a 4 wheeled armored car that can stand in for a Sentinel, Tauros or Centaur.
An AA platform for the flatbec 6 wheel truck
An SPG based on my troop transport. The more I think about this model the more I feel it needs to be opened topped, but that's a lot of work.
I've also started tinkering with ideas for a Super Heavy. The first is based on the Russian T-35 heavy tank, which is the coolest land battleship but not something I think will fit thematically with the rest of my vehicles.
The other is more of an upsized MBT, but with a taller turret reminiscent of a Tiger 2.

Some of my earliest conversion work was on trying to make Pre-Heresy Marines. The first WD 300 issue had a bunch of conversions showing the Crusading Legions and I was blown away. This was 3rd Edition so Pre Heresy options were limited. I bought a bag of modelling railroad ties, scraped together as many beaky helms as I could, and carefully removed every aquilla from every marine.
Here's a pic of one of my marines from that era- suffice to say it's not great
When the Calth and Prospero boxes were released I knew I had to restart a Heresy Era army. I didn't have the money for Resin vehicles so the only answer was converting. Here are some of the results

For future ones I'd recommend cutting the disc out, sanding carefully slightly smaller, cutting the zig-zag, then resetting in the hole. Gives that recessed look that matches the resin kits. If you can make the door two discs thick and sand to a bevel, even better.

Really impressive Heresy-era vehicles. The First series Predator's weathering is especially impressive. I'm still gathering info on getting into my casting- yours is still incredible for the sheer volume!
Liked the way you used a Panther turret as the foundation for an IG bit- really good, that.

2018 has left me with next to no time for models, but GWs announcement of Adeptus titanicus has gotten me back into the hobby spirit. When I saw the new titans I knew I needed legions to swarm around their feet. I’ve begged and bribed enough people in my local group to try epic and titanicus that we need some armies in the new scale, so I pulled out my knife, dusted off the old plog, and came up with these
The goal is to eventually fill out the Marine, IG, Chaos, Ork and Eldar lines so we can play some proper games.
All of these will of course be cast up.

Thanks Kyoto- I’m using them for my infantry but wanted vehicles that were a. It more recognizable as 40k. Once I got a handle on th change of scale it was easier than I expected. Smaller models means less time on details.
I know it’s been a while but I’ve gotten a ton knocked out, and wanted to drop an update
I’ve gotten a bunch of the tiny tanks cast and painted. Knocking out most of the important stuff for guard and marines. Now I just need to get the infantry finished up.
I’ve also gotten a bunch of stuff finished up on the guard- I repainted all my vehicles with a cleaner look- I felt the more weathered appearance made covered up too much of the detail. I figured out my Cupolas and finally got some tank crews added- which I’ve found adds a bit of character to each vehicle.
I also molded and cast my flatbed trucks. It’s the base for my Hydras and Khytush pattern manticores. It’s also much easier to build an armored compartment for my taurox.
More coming soon.

Here's a closeup of some of the troopers. I picked them up from vanguard miniatures and they're great little models. I primed them white and washed them with lamenters yellow, cassandora yellow and seraphim sepia.
The big flyer is painted and used in our dark heresy campaigns/ terrain for 40k. It's taken a bit of damage from the cat, but she's still in use
Here's a group shot of the motor pool. I'm hoping that I'll have a free weekend soon to get more casting done.
